You can do this by contacting the moderators or click on the 'report post' icon located at the bottom of your post.

You can request a LLMD through Global Lyme Alliance here;

https://globallymealliance.org/education-awareness/find-medical-professional/

https://www.ilads.org/patient-care/provider-search/

You can also join your area's Lyme support group.

https://illyme.com/

Support groups offer help about LLMD'S in your area and members share their experiences with different treatments and sucesses. They have monthly meetings where you can meet others who have tick borne infections. They offere compassion, support, and tips to help you start feeling better.

Also, start researching all you can about TBI's. You must be your own healthcare advocate. Please ulitize lymenet's 'search' function. This site contains valuable info on all things Lyme. You can do this. Healing wishes.

I will send you a private message.

Welcome to Lymenet!

I don't know of any LLMDs in northern Illinois.

You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!r child

A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.

Here is a link for them:

http://www.lymenet.org/BurrGuide200810.pdf

Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. You need to go where they are.

Also, most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":

http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=025539;p=0

When you call for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in earlier by doing this.

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/IllinoisLyme/info

Maybe they can help.

Some more resources for you:
http://whatislyme.com/lyme-in-illinois/

http://www.lymenet.org/SupportGroups/UnitedStates/Illinois/

Read the books written by the top LLMD, Dr. H, titled, "Why Can't I Get Better?" and "How Can I Get Better?". They are an excellent source of information.

Also read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. View "Under Our Skin" and "Under Our Skin 2: Emergence" DVDs. Check your local library or buy them used online.

Btw - I know you are new to Lymenet, but you should not use your real name, because this is a public forum with all sorts of people on it. Read this link about it:

http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=011844;p=0

You would have to contact one of the moderators to ask how to change your username.

To remove your name from the signature line, click on "Edit Profile" under Lymenet Flash in the top middle section of the Lymenet page.

Click on "Edit Profile" on the left-hand side, scroll down to "Profile Fields" then down to "Signature". Make your changes, then click "Update Profile".

Usatec70 - Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for WI.

You should write a separate post instead of adding on to an existing one. That way, others will see it and respond, because most people don't re-read old ones.

Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. You need to go where they are. I don't know of any good ones in IL.
