Connecting with your area's Lyme support groups would be most helpful for getting first-hand opinions of local LLMD'S.

PM sent with info and LLMD names in WI & IN.

The reality is is that we still have a poor physician base in the Illinois area. At least half of all Lyme patients go out-of-state for proper treatment.

Here is what a well-seasoned Lymenet poster wrote and it really is true:

"This is what I have learned in over 14 years in the Lyme world--the doc is the key. Can't emphasize that enough. The doc is the key to getting rid of this horrendous disease.

Many doctors treat Lyme Disease, but only a FEW know enough to get rid of it for a person. Your job is to find one of those few.

If you can possibly get yourself to a top doc, that is what you want to do. It gets you the best chance to get rid of this horrendous disease."
