God is good all the time, and all the time God is good!!!!

"Bless the Lord, O my soul, and do not forget all his benefits--who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good as long as you live so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's" (Psalm 103:2-5).

Reminder to pray for Dekrator's son, Andrew, who comes home from Iraq on leave this week. Pray for safety and travelling mercies.

Blessings for a week of God's healing touch in your lives--body, mind, emotions, and spirit--in the all mighty Name of Jesus.

[group hug]

Loved that Psalm daisy!

Thank you so much for the prayer reminder for my son, Andrew.

I am nervous about him traveling out of Iraq.

I know it is out of my hands and is in God's hands, and I will have faith.

2 Corinthians 5:7 (NASB)

"for we walk by faith, not by sight--"

MDW, Those two video songs were really beautiful. Brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for sharing that with us.

Dekrator, Sure hope and pray you're having a great birthday!

"Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard Your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7, NLT).

SCRIPTURE PRAYER OF ABOVE VERSES: Father God, Thank you that we do not need to worry...through Jesus...the door has been opened for us to come into Your presence, Abba Father, and pray about everything that concerns us. You know our needs even before we share them with You. Thank you so much for all You have done; thank You so much for all you are doing; thank You so much for all You are going to do. How could we ever thank You enough?! The peace we experience is so beautiful and is beyond understanding. This peace guards our hearts and minds as we live in Christ Jesus.

We are so blessed!

Thank You that we belong to You! Amen.

dearest daisy,

I didn't mean to make you cry... I will tell you a secret: IT MADE ME CRY TO.

I will always praise Him and thank Him... I know this now.

Thank you for the scripture prayer...was that a God timing? big smile

MDW,

I just watched the second video...wow! How beautiful!

daisy,

I will try not to worry today and I will be praying often. It is true that after praying to God, I do experience His peace.

Thank you for the scripture and prayer.

My son is on his way today....unknown details...may not hear from him for a day or so until he gets to the US.

I did have a nice birthday, thank you. I went to the local farmer's market and bought some fresh corn, peaches and cherries. Then I went to a couple stores, but didn't find anything to buy...I enjoy looking.

After work, my husband picked up our grandsons and I opened the door to both of their smiling little faces carrying my birthday cake. [Big Grin]

The boys gave me envelopes with cards they drew and one of their cherished plastic t-rex dinos.

We had dinner and they sang to me and then they ate cake...I had one teeny little taste.

Then we went outside and had our usual evening of ballplaying before we took them home in their favorite "black pappy bus".

Thank you God, for the many blessings that I have.

MDW, "God timing" oh, I like that. Yeah, I think you're right that was....errrr...I mean is a "God timing" scripture/scripture prayer! [Big Grin]

Dekraton, WOW, lots of good stuff going on in your life and I'm rejoicing with you! Continuing to pray for Andrew's safe arrival home. I imagine he is as excited to be coming home as you all are to have him coming home! [Big Grin]

My hubby and I like to hit the farmer's markets too. Seattle has the best one (that I've been to so far)...Pike Place Farmer's Market downtown. We used to live in Seattle.

Awww, how sweet of your grandsons...what a great picture you paint with words of your birthday celebration. So much fun and love [kiss]

When we pause to count our blessings...we realize we have so much to be thankful for. It's always a good time to thank Him!

Oh Lord! here come the guestions again [lol]

First one.... When I pray to God, ummm, I say something like... God thank you for... and then I say.... "Father I praise you in Jesus name, even though I don't know how to praise."

Ok... Big guestion....How do I praise Him?

I went to a clients house this morning and she was running late...Bible study she was at.
New client...hmmmm? Bible Study.

Anyway, she had a book in her purse, the title read "Prayers God Says To Us"

Do you know of it? Is it just a book for Catholics?
I was so curious, I wanted to bump her purse and make the book fall out! But I held my fingers back this time. [Smile]

Third guestion after I post this:

She asked Him, ``Lord, where wert Thou when my heart was so tormented?''
``I was in your heart,'' He answered.
``O Lord. You are everlasting truth,'' she replied, ``and I humbly bow before your word; but how can I believe that you were in my heart when it was filled with such detestable thought?''
``Did these thoughts give you pleasure or pain? He asked.
``An exceeding pain and sadness,'' was her reply.
The Lord said, ``You were in woe and sadness because I was in the midst of your heart. My presence it was which rendered those thoughts insupportable to you. When the period I had determined for the duration of the combat had elapsed, I sent forth the beams for My light, and the shades of hell were dispelled, because they cannot resist that light.''

To have thoughts even when sadend from them;
still remains a sin right? I must ask for forgiveness for having wrongful thoughts...correct? If this is the case, I will be on my knees all the time. [Frown] Well, I better go buy some knee pads, I am going to need them. Is it possible to be a faithful Christian when one is constantly tested everyday? Pray for the miserable one testing, correct?

Diane

Daisy,

I love the song you posted "Above All" Yes, the pictures did fit.

I just wanted to put my arms up in the air!and a little tear came out of my eye...just a little one.
I didn't know getting to know the the Lord would bring tears to this ole gals eyes, But it has, me who used to never cry...hard to believe that now.

Dekrator.... I am so happy you had a wonderful Birthady, and with your grandsons. How awesomely wonderful.
I will continue to pray for your son.

daisy and MDW,

Thank you for the continued prayers for my son as he makes his way home.

It is a waiting game until he gets somewhere he can call.

I remember when he was flying home after boot camp and schooling 3 years ago..he told me a nice lady bought his lunch in an airport.

That really touched me, that some other mother took care of my son that day...even though he was grown.

I think of that today and I'm thankful for the thoughtfulness of others.

I hope that I can do that for someone else's son or daughter someday (except we don't fly).

I am thankful for all of you.

You all are such a source of inspiration. I will make it a habit to check in here first.

You know- I know it is a Godincidence that Daisy you posted God is good all the time... All the time He is good...

My mom, in her sickest days, would say that. She is with the Lord -- out of pain and enjoying the abounds of Heaven and for that I am so grateful.

She died two years ago from Amyloidosis- a cancer of the blood and thankfully I was able to take good care of her for three years before she passed. I contracted Lyme three months after she died. I do know that He has a plan...

I am a big Charles Stanley fan... I don't know if you all are... but I find his radio broadcasts - always right on time. The last I listened to was about Fear and that with Christ, Perfect Love casts out fear...

I had a rough two past weeks starting bicillin and lots of other drugs and the expense really blew my mind per month should insurance not cover me. I will fight... And I know He is on my side... I got a little down about that ... and yet, I check in here tonight... and here is Daisys post-- God is GOOD all the time...

So, I KNOW He will provide... and I am honestly doing, what I know He has led me to do. He got me to my new doc and now I just have to TRUST.

It is hard not to be afraid... How do you all conquer that fear with so much unknown with all of this... Thank you in advance for sharing your light with a girl like me... Love and Blessings to you all-

Amelia,

Your Mom was lucky to have you to take care of her when she was sick. So sorry for your loss. You must be comforted to know that you will spend eternity together in Heaven.

I have not heard Charles Stanley. I will keep my ear out for his broadcasts.

I understand about the worry of the expense of treatment. I would like to take Mepron again, but it is $1800/month for me since I do not have a prescription plan....so I avoid it and keep wondering if it is what I really need.

But....I will trust in the Lord, that He will guide me to do what is best.

God IS Good all the time.

Leanne,

Glad you are back! We all learn and grow here together in God's love!!

daisy,

I can just see the smile on your face!!!

Once again, your efforts are blessing many!!!

deerose,

Welcome to "God Thought"!!!

Please come back often! I understand about reading more than posting...I see you are a new lymenet member.

Thanks for the prayer! Come back when you can.

Alright, here's the problem I'm having. I've been told all my life that God gives strength to the weary, and we trust Him to supply all our needs, etc. I've been told all my life that He has given us a sound mind, etc.

Well....I don't have strength. I don't have what it takes to do what needs to be done. Most of my friends really have it all together, and they're full of advice on how I can "better" manage my home "to the glory of God."

I have even retorted upon occasion, "God may give us strength, but I still gotta drink coffee! God may give us what we need, but He's not going to cook dinner for the family tonight--I AM!!!"

God may give us sound minds......but why is it so many Christians I know are on anti-depressants? My husband wants to me to get on one. I don't want to bow to the medical establishment, because I feel like it's saying, "Well, Lord, you didn't supply all my need, so I'll go drug myself so I can smile at my children today."

Does that make any sense???

I'm really frustrated about this right now, as you can see.

Posted by Amelia (Member # 17677) on :

I don't know that I have the wisdom to answer this but I will tell you... my peace is in the promises he made... One for sure...

I will never leave or forsake you... now I am terrible at quoting scripture but I do believe with everything in me - that ultimately He does provide... even when it is bleak... We do not understand his ways and these days it is definitely best not to lean on my own understanding... if I do that... I get depressed.

So, as I have to quote Charles Stanley here and he just makes sense to me-- Intouch.org. You can listen to any of his broadcasts. Anyway, he says that "Do we believe he is God" Then we must believe everything he says... Well you know what, I do... in my darkest days... I still do. I have never questioned like I did with this whole thing (Lyme) But through it all, listening to the spirit, I know he is with me.

Does that keep me from not being in the best mood when I contemplate the expense of this or feel badly (like when taking Mepron) and with regard to Mepron- Bridges to Access may cover you Dekerator since you do not have prescription coverage.

http://www.bridgestoaccess.com/

Ultimately, when mom was sick- I perceived my mom was being taken from me - and that was the hardest thing I have dealt with at this time -- but HE walked right beside me and swooped her up into his arms when the going got too tough. I do believe he knows what we can handle. So...I know he knows I can handle this even if I don't have the box top to the puzzle.

I look at people like TooToo, TF and SixGoofyKids and Katrina... and they are Angels on this earth... they each provided light to me on this path...

I guess what I am trying to say is -- I UNDERSTAND your frustration... and I can say that I have no clue when you are a mom of four little ones home schooling. But I would urge you to hold on to his promises and know that His ways are MUCH greater than our ways...

With regard to your friends that are on scripts-- well brain chemistry can demand that. But that is an individual decision. What I would say is that in all of this WE make the DECISIONS on how we are going to deal with what has been put in front of us... I am doing my BEST and it is HARD to be a VICTOR not a VICTIM and I cannot thank enough those that have come before me with this that choose to GIVE of themselves in such selfless ways to bring us all ultimately, a taste of HIS love that is right now... with us... enveloping us...

I pray for your peace and your comfort and your wellness... You are an amazingly strong woman to do all that you are doing... and you are making the world a better place by giving us all four lives... that will ultimately share his love too... God bless you and all of this gang...

You are all LIGHTS!

OK ALL, so I am really backing it up now and rewinding to my last post up above somewhere...

MDW,

In your posts...you are already praising Him! It's neat how it's something that comes automatic to us when we recognize Greatness in our lives. That was beautiful praise you shared August 18 at 10:37 AM.

"Praise" I looked it up in the dictionary...but needed a dictionary to look up the words that describe "praise". [Big Grin]

"Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord" (Psalm 150:6).

To me, I think...
We can praise Him with our words and with our silence.
We can praise Him with our songs.
We can praise Him in our laughter and even in our tears (and everything in between).
Actually we can praise Him with our very lives and with every breath.

I've not heard of "Prayers God Says to Us". Sounds interesting though--the book, and especially the Lord bringing that new client into your life. He is so good at doing stuff like that!

Sin...knee pads...you are too funny. We all have thoughts of various kinds. A thought isn't necessarily sin, although it can be. And if (make then--when) we entertain sinful thoughts, isn't it great that we can go to our Father and ask forgiveness through the blood of Jesus?!! That truth is worthy of praise...Hallelujah!!!

God gave us tears for a reason...make that many, very good reasons.

Dancing before the Lord...that's good and fun...be careful. [lol]

Dekrator,

You'll probably be pretty busy with Andrew...look forward to hearing what's up when you get the chance to stop in on "God Thought".

Thanks for sharing about the mother that took care of your son. Recently, I heard this on K-Love: Someone called the radio station and gave this suggestion regarding our men and women in the armed forces. If you are in line at a store, or restaurant, Starbucks, etc. and a service man or woman is behind you, let them go in front of you. I thought that was great!

God bless our men and women in the military and God bless the USA!

Mepron...I had no idea it was that expensive. Well...trusting the Lord is good. For sure He will continue to guide you. Proverbs 3:5-6.

The Lord is our strength and song...great scripture you shared! He sure is!!!! [bow]

Lymetoo,

I confirm Jesus on FB.

Leanne,

Good to see you on "God Thought". Welcome aboard.

Thanks for sharing your frustrations with us. I am praying for you. Tomorrow I plan on sharing in regards to your post. Yes, it does make sense what you share. I am getting ready to post this and it's past 11:30 pm now, so I better wait until tomorrow when I have a fresh mind and hopefully will make some sense myself. [bonk]

17hens,

I am with you on that...don't know where I'd be without the Lord's mercy and grace.

Amelia,

I am always touched by those Godincidences! He is sooooo good!

Awwww, sorry about your mom. She was blessed to have you as her daughter. I know you miss her. What a blessed hope we do have!

I used to listen to Charles Stanley all the time as he came on the radio at the same time I was getting ready for work. Now my hours have changed. I still enjoy his teaching when I get the chance to listen to him. Thanks for posting the website.

Praying the next few weeks go better than the past two weeks. Do you do any detoxing? It really helps me (the dry skin brushing, epsom salt/hydrogen peroxide baths...) Praying with you that the insurance comes through.

Fear...something that helps me, whether it is fear (or another negative thought) is to acknowledge it to the Lord and turn it into a prayer. For example, "Lord God, you know everything about me, you know how I am feeling, there is this fear that I sense...Your Word says that when I am afraid to put my trust in You. That is what I am doing Lord. I am putting all of my trust in You. You are faithful. Perfect love casts out fear. You are perfect love, You cast out fear. Thank You, Jesus for always being with me..." (And if/when I sense fear again...I go to Him in prayer again, and every time. Thank God that our God has an open door policy!!!

Sweet blessings of God's light and love!

deerose,

Welcome, so glad you are here! Thank you for sharing that scripture, "Beloved (I love it when God calls us that...and "beloved" we are) I pray above all things that you proper and be in health as our soul propers." AMEN!

I heard this song on the radio this morning. Makes me want to dance. Yeah, great dancing song this one is.

We can praise the Lord by dancing in His presence (The Psalmist David did).

"Our God is greater,
Our God is stronger,
God, You are higher than any other,

Our God is Healer,
Awesome in Power,
Our God, Our God!

If our God is for us, then what could stand against us?"

"Our God is Greater" by Chris Tomlin

Leanne,

Again, thanks for sharing your heart with us.

I'm sorry that people have not always been supportive to you. That hurts. You've come to the right place to "just be you and share what's going on". We may not have all the answers on "God Thought" but we do care and want to be a support and encouragement as much as possible. There are many who pray too...so you can count on that.

I know the scriptures you are talking about. I can only speak for myself...but from my experience when I've gone through dark times, I've not always sensed God's presence or provision. Sometimes I felt like He was very far from me. I have felt like the Psalmist David when he is weeping in the night, his bed soaked with tears...and he is calling out to God asking, "Where are You???"

It is interesting that later, after time goes by, and I am able to look back on those times that were so dark...I realize God really was there. He did not leave me or forsake me. Even if everyone else did. He was actually carrying me through. It was by His grace and mercy I even made it through those times. Hindsight is 20/20 they say...well, it has been for me.

You share, "God may give us strength, but I still gotta drink coffee! God may give us what we need, but He's not going to cook dinner for the family tonight--I AM!!!" That's true and the Word of God says, "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength." I interpret that to mean there is a "do" for us to do.

You also share, "God may give us sound minds......but why is it so many Christians I know are on anti-depressants? My husband wants to me to get on one. I don't want to bow to the medical establishment, because I feel like it's saying, 'Well, Lord, you didn't supply all my need, so I'll go drug myself so I can smile at my children today.'"

I know that is frustrating, yet in the same way you "still gotta drink coffee" or "cook dinner', the anti-depressants have helped people. Lyme and Co can really take a toll on the body, as well as deplete the chemicals in the brain, so it can really throw a person's balance off. Anti-depressants are not for everyone but they do help some people. Just like abx, alternative medicine, and American Biological Medicine help people. I know Jesus could heal me outright, and He has on many occasions. With Lyme that hasn't been the case. So the way I look at it is that God gives scientists and doctors the "where with all"... so ultimately my healing comes from God anyway.

All of this is just my perspective. Oh, golly, is this where I quote Lymetoo...something like do not take this as medical advice but I've stayed at a Holiday Inn or Marriott before. [Big Grin]

Precious Leeanne, just said a prayer for you!

Hi all:

Dekerator-- that is wonderful news! I hope you have a wonderful time with your son... I know you will!

Leeanne... Daisy did a much better job than I did... I just want you to know how supported you are... I too have been lifting you up in prayer...

Daisy... you are amazing... thank you for the wisdom you shared with me. I will turn it into a prayer and I am going to post what you have said to my fridge so that I always see that prayer... thank you for taking the time to help me with my need... I am detoxing and yes that is helping a lot and going slower with adding the drugs is helping too... Knowing He is working to heal me as well as show me HIS love through you all... WELL, who couldn't be lifted by that.

Lots of HIS love to you all... I am lifting you all up that we are healed each day... and that we will arrive at his PERFECT healing in time...

Happy Weekend! Amy

Amelia,

I really like that each of us share from our perspective and experience. I know it helps me to be more rounded...helps me to think of things that I hadn't thought of. We really do need each other.

So glad you're detoxing! Who woudda ever thunk??!! Yeah, it does help!

We really are body, mind, and spirit...all hooked together and one affects the other. Prayer definitely helps...I believe that with all my heart.

I really like what you shared "that we will arrive at His PERFECT healing in time..." AMEN!!

Hi all,

I'm just taking the time to go back and read what everyone wrote.

Amelia,

Thanks for the suggestion about Mepron...we don't qualify for that program, but I'm sure others do.

I appreciate you thinking of me!

Leanne,

I knew daisy would have great answers for you....and she did!...and so did Amelia!!

Just rememeber that we will be here to support you whenever you need it!..and our God is always here to support us!!

daisy, MDW, Lymetoo, and Amelia,

Thank you for sharing in my joy as my son arrived home safely!!

He looks great and I am amazed to hear him say "It's not that bad" when talking about the conditions over there.

He doesn't complain about it, just sees it as his duty.

I sooo wanted to go to the airport and see him get off the plane and pick him up, but I did not....he told me his fiance was picking him up so I left it at that.

They're young and in love...so that's important.

But in my heart he is still 4 years old and it was hard not to go!!!

That first hug when he came through my door was REAL BIG!!!!! [Big Grin]

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

My grandsons should be arriving soon for an afternoon/evening of swimming and playing. [spinning smile]

That is the only way I know how to clean you know...

Thank you for your encouragement always. I have been using that prayer you gave me a lot and it has
restored peace to me on many occasions and YES OUR LORD knows best... How fortunate we are!

Sending you all blessings and wellness... Keep up the GOOD Fight! Lots of love...

Leanne, sometimes God provides for us in ways that we don't expect. And sometimes, if we look closely, our "needs" are really "wants".

I think that God has provided us each with wisdom, knowledge, understanding, gifts, and talents. We are supposed to help each other.

It would be silly of us to suffer and not consult a medical professional when we are sick. When we have legal troubles we seek the advice of an attorney. If we have money troubles we seek the advice of an accountant. You get the idea.

Remember, our bodies are temples. We should always be mindful to treat them well. Rest, eat good, exercise and care for ourselves to the best of our abilities.

God is always there watching, waiting for us to ask for help, guiding us, and providing for us. His interventions may be so subtle that we pass them off as good luck or coincidence. And then there are the miracles that no one can deny.

When we're feeling bad or going through a rough time it is easy to forget about the good times. If you need some miracle stories to remind you of God's goodness, let me know. I can share some personal ones with you. I'm sure that the other ladies here would be more than willing to share some stories with you too.

Hugs, good night everyone!

"Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth."

Colossians 3:2 (NASB)

Amen... Dekrator! I find you all such a source of

inspiration.

As I was listening to Charles Stanley tonight... I was reminded that HE is ABLE...

I don't know why sometimes I fail to see this.

On my bathroom floor tonight... I prayed to be
forgiven for some things that I think
may have held me back from embracing my

TRUE FREEDOM in Him... I heard Him say to me (still small voice) That is why I sent my son...

I love you THAT much. I have a peace I haven't had in quite sometime and I ordered my supplements as I was worried about paying for them... BUT I DO KNOW, He will provide.

I walk in that confidence and the confidence that indeed, HIS WILL is much greater than my own ... And that this is only a trial... one where He will not give me more than I can handle and is with me every step of the way...

For a single self supporting girl to "get this" It has to be my Father.

I thank you all for being a SOURCE of REAL STRENGTH. I shudder to think what I would have done had I not found you all here...

Indeed, it is time to focus on the THINGS ABOVE!

I wanted to share this with you all... God Gave Me YOU

I've been a walking heartache
I've made a mess of me
The person that I've been lately
Ain't who I wanna be

But you stay here right beside me
Watch as the storm goes through
And I need you

God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
For when I think I've lost my way
*If* There are no words here left to say, it's true
God gave me you

There's more here than what were seeing
A divine conspiracy
That you, an angel lovely
Could somehow fall for me
You'll always be love's great martyr
Ill be the flattered fool
and I need you

God gave me you for the ups and downs

God gave me you for the days of doubt
For when I think I've lost my way
*If* There are no words here left to say, it's true
God gave me you

On my own I'm only
Half of what I could be
I can't do without you
We are stitched together
And what love has tethered
I pray we never undo

God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
For when I think I've lost my way
*If* There are no words here left to say, it's true
God gave me you, gave me you.
Gave me you.

Praise Him...
This is BEAUTIFUL....

Amelia,

Thank you for sharing what you are feeling.

I think we can all relate at some level.

I enjoyed very much reading the lyrics to "God Gave Me You" and then watching the video.

Thanks for posting that!!

What you may not realize, is that YOU are a source of inspiration for me too!!!

Every little bit of wisdom shared here can help someone else.

God is SO GOOD and God is providing for our needs.

Love and Healing to you also!!!

Dekrator,

As a mom, I sure can relate about going to the airport to pick up your son. You did the right thing, hard as it was. You planted some really great seeds (should that be your future daughter-in-love) and the reaping will be well worth it. So thrilled Andrew looks great. HUGS from our kids is soooooo wonderful...the bigger the better!!!! [Big Grin] I'm setting my mind on "things above".

Amelia,

Appreciate your words of encouragement. You are a blessing to "God Thought" friends. "God gave me you..." so beautiful and so true. We do need each other, and I sure am glad that we have each other. Our God is faithful to connect us with who and what we need anytime and specially "just in time". Indeed, praise Him for He is worty \o/

Lymetoo, That's one of my favorite verses too. [woohoo]

sammy, Thank you for sharing the great words of wisdom for us to remember. I especially liked your reminder that our bodies are temples and it is imporant for us to rest, eat good, exercise and care for it. I know it makes a huge difference for me. [woohoo]

Love and healing to you all, is my prayer, toooooooo!

Thank you all for lifting me up again today! You are all such blessings!

Dekerator and all of you... Thank you for allowing me to have a place where I can share and grow in Christ through all of this...

That is SO very special!

Daisy-- you are so right about God giving us just who we need -- when we REALLY need them. I am constantly awed by this fact...

I was reading an article on healing and trusting our Father to heal us... and one of the most important things it said was gratitude... continuing to see the many provisions he makes for us day in and day out... We are indeed so blessed...

The article also said that fear, worry etc. only serve to zap our energy and that TRUSTING him to provide as he always has ... is built upon the awareness of his provisions. Thank GOD... THANK GOD!

I wanted to share this too:
"The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want".

Laura Langenbeck did this amazing commentary...

1) The----------With this word emphasized it means that He is THE Lord. There is no One but Him. It does not say "many" or "one of". It says THE.

2) Lord---------This word means that He is Lord, the creator. He is the Ruler of all. And He is Who He says He is.

3) Is------------Here we notice that the word IS means that it is present tense. It is not something that happened in the past, but is right now.

4) My----------Ah, now this word makes it very personal. He is MY Shepherd. He is personal to me. That means that this verse is promised to ME! Hallelujah!

5) Shepherd---This word is power packed because it means that He is all that a shepherd would be to his sheep. A shepherd is a protector, a provider of food, shelter, and care that all stay close and are not lost. He is everything to the sheep and is usually the only individual that they see for long periods of time. A relationship forms between shepherd and sheep. They come to depend on him for everything and he provides it for them because he cares what happens to them. They are valuable to him.

6) I-------------One word can mean so much. This one means that this verse is very personal, not to be taken lightly. It belongs to ME. Praise God!

7) Shall--------Now here we have a word that means it is not in the past. It is not only now but also in the future. We also have a surety that it WILL happen because the word "shall" is a definite statement. It means "guaranteed".

8) Not----------This one means that NEVER will I have a need that is not taken care of, as long as I accept the promise of the Lord that is in this verse.

9) Want--------The word does not mean that I can go asking the Lord for just anything and He will provide it but it does mean that needs are met. It also means that, as with any loving Father, He will give you things that you desire. But the main thing about this word is that if you accept this promise, you will never have need of anything that the Lord does not provide.

When I started to see these things, it was a real eye opener for me. NOW that verse means something personally. I can see that as long as I understand and take hold of this promise, I will have Someone to guide me through everything. He will be with me during all problems but, even when there is no difficulty, the Lord is with me. He is my comfort and my Hiding Place, my Rest. With Him in my life, I have no needs that will go unanswered. Most important of all, He is there for me when He asks me to do things, to walk with me every step of the way. What an AWESOME God we serve.

All PRAISE to him my dear God Friends! [bow] Healing and Peace to us all... [group hug]

Amelia,

I loved the "The Lord is my Shepherd, I Shall Not want" Commentary! Thanks for posting that!

Fear and worry really can zap one's energy.

I can relate to that due to family conflict that has almost consumed me for the last 8+ months.

Ever so slowly, I am learning to trust in Him instead of worrying so much....but I understand...it's not easy sometimes.

Philippians 4:11-13

"Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am.

I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need.

I can do all things through Him who strengthens me."

Big Hello 17hens, That is a great song and video.

Amelia, I am so with you on the gratitude. That was inspiring from Psalm 23...The Lord is MY!!!!! [woohoo]

Dekrator, "Content" is a beautiful place to live...by God's grace...I continue to learn how to live there more and more.

On to this week's God Thought.

Blessings All!!!

I'm really struggling right now with the Book of Amos and that God causes all disasters, including 9/11...he is behind them and causes destruction to punish us for our sins. Any comments? I went to a new church Sunday. Have not been to church in years, and that was what the sermon was about. Really shook me up. I thought God was good and these events were not his will but the will of man. The Preacher talked about how it IS God's actions and they are punishment....that not many churches read from the book of Amos but that we must know everything and take it all in.

Tracy, it's a popular idea because it makes people's blood pressure rise, but I think the entire point of Scripture is missed when that's preached.

We are forgiven of our sins.

God is a God of judgment and mercy both.

But judgment has already been meted out. That was done on the cross.

God allows awful things to happen. We live in a fallen world. The rain falls on the just and the unjust. Not only wicked people die in tornadoes, earthquakes and hurricanes.

How about a new church? [Wink]

Y'all, I actually had an okay day today. I haven't had an okay day in a good long time. It wasn't good, but it was okay. I swept the front porch! Hurray for me! I had the energy and mental where-with-all to sweep the front porch! I even pulled out the kids' winter clothes to see what I could consign from last year. And on top of that I kept up with meals. Oh yeah, baby, Leanne had an okay day. [Smile] I'm thankful!
