Hi all. I know this is kinda of a tabu subject. I have been off ABX since december and doing pretty well, then I broke my ankle, felt absolutely terrific when I was doing nothing but icing mt ankle... but now that i am moving around more much of my pain in my legs is back, choosing to believe this is learning to walk normally again but it does have me a bit worried... but i digress...

so, for better or worse, i have drunk a little through out treatment. Usually a little white wine. As temps and humidity are in the high 90's here... i cannot drink a bit of wine without sweating on my face and neck profusely. This has always happened to me in the heat. And I usually just never drink... but totally by coincidence i noticed that I can have Vodka in the heat and not sweat. I still don't like to drink in the heat...
I am just curious as to the why from all you who know so much... why would wine make me sweat profusely but not vodka?

- Thank you for "talking me down" from my knee-jerk reaction. Your stipulations matter, of course, since you are in remission and at that six month mark with some say it's okay to try back a little alcohol from time to time.
My guess with wine, especially if it's RED wine, the sulfites that even occur naturally but are also often added - can cause sweating.
You might do better with an organic wine (though natural sulfites are still there with red wines).
Wine that is not organic might have traces of farm chemicals that could be causing a sweat reaction.
I get sweat reactions from even balsamic vinegar, even organic. Likely the sulfites. -

Vodka does not contain sulfites, as it is produced from potato fermentation.

I thought white wine did not contain sulfites.. Mostly red wine.. I usually have no adverse reaction from vodka either.

Could be yeast. Yeast can cause hot flashes.
Wine is full of sugar, Vodka is not.

Even though I knew it was not the best thing to do there were days during treatment, after a hard day at work, that the glass of white wine was the only thing that dulled the pain.
I don't know about gluten, cause it is so distilled, but most vodkas are made from wheat,only a few are made from potatoes. But the Carb thing is so true tutu.
I knew you guys would have some thoughts though!
