Dr. H will be on the NBC Today Show on Wednesday morning (today) at 10 am EST discussing Lyme disease. Parents magazine will be there with him discussing the warning signs of tick-borne diseases, and how we can protect our families from the spreading risk of tick-borne infections. Unfortunately, this contributes to the misconception that only boys can get this $@%# disease...more women/girls accused of faking illness for attention [Frown] [Frown] [Frown]

I know, that hit me too. The woman being interviewed in the video was with Parent's Magazine. Will check to see if they ran an article.

That's ridiculous that they said it's mainly in boys! Why don't they ever get their facts right! The link above that Karla L posted does say it's come common in boys but there they say 30,000 cases are reported each year when even the CDC acknowledges that the number is 300,000.

I would say that statistics may have shown that more boys get it than girls. Perhaps that is fact.

It makes sense to me because of the way boys play.
