Good afternoon, everyone!!

It's WINDY and cold here. I was thinking about going to an afternoon show, but decided to rest instead. I'm off for a nap when I finish this.

It's going to be windy all afternoon and evening... blizzards up north of us. I'm hoping the snow and wintry mix will miss us because our flooring company is due here tomorrow morning!!!

It will supposedly be 33 by 11 in the morning .. so maybe no time will be lost.

Have a great day! [hi]

Walked 21 minutes.

Now blustery and rainy. Under a winter weather advisory for snow tonight. Up to 50 mph winds.

Hope your flooring gets done soon, Tutu.

Have a super week! [Cool]

I just had a 30 min walk with Etta in the drizzle. It’s warm. 39. And rain forecast for 4 days. Not below freezing til thurs. all the snow will be melted and I never tried out the snow blower

Tutu knows I walked an hour yesterday and I also walked half hour day before. Idk what’s happening. But I’m happy. Maybe these stupid meds are finally killing off my infections

I did a few bills today and talked to my sister for an hour. She lost her job after 18 yrs and it’s a slow time for interviewing at holidays. My oldest son and oldest grandson are also interviewing. Son is still employed tho

Etta got muddy so after I rest and breathe good air for awhile I will give her a bath. When I walk in my neighborhood I smell so many dryer sheets. But yesterday at the beach I got whiffs of scents on ppl. I hate that stuff

I tried posting 2 other times but I pushbwrong button and lose it all and too tired to retype

Good you guys are doing what you want. I hope the bad weather goes around you!

Sunday already?! Thanks TuTu for starting this week's thread!

No exercise to speak of, just making dinner and doing dishes.

Did start my purse project with much advice from my Mom who's a great seamstress.

Flooring finally TuTu! Hope everything goes seamlessly! LOL!

I need to start exercising Hiker! Just reading about you being consistent is hopefully enough to get my turkey stuffed self to the gym.

Hi there Kayak! Glad to hear you're improving and getting out and about. Looks like we're both happy campers lately. Been so grateful.

Anywho....hoping this week I can get back to exercising!

Rainy today and in the 40's. No outside work today.

Got a bunch of corners cleaned out with my having Black Friday off work. Hoping to continue with the good start we made.

The basement needs to be re organized and cleaned - so far only got the plant space cleaned so we could bring them in. The rest is still waiting...

Shoveled this morning. Only a few inches but heavy with ice underneath. My neighbor helped and it took both of us 35 minutes.

Worked on defensive driving online course. Exited it half way through and lost part of what I did, so have to redo an hour's worth. Hope to finish it tomorrow.

Went to chiropractor.

I went to the gym today!!!

[woohoo]

Stretched, 30 minutes on the elliptical, 2 laps to cool down, 3 sets of 8 on the rowing machine and inner/outer thigh machine.

Now only if I can keep it up!

Wish I could organize my Mom's house Manna. It needs a real overhaul.

You might need some Advil or something tonight Hiker. LOL! That's quite the workout!

Well, off to do some online ordering for my Mom and her BFF!

Great job, AK, Manna and hiker!!

We spent the day at our church, just hanging out and getting work done. I ran a few errands and made bracelets for OCC.

I also had to make several phone calls and helped my friend take down the communion stuff and change the paraments. Next month is my month.

Came home to find out they didn't put the under-layment under the vinyl. Whatever it's called. It's referred to as "scuba."

Thankfully, they only did about a foot or so in one part of the living area. He spent all day removing carpet and moving furniture. They will bring the pad in the morning but our salesman has to go to the nearby city to get it.

So .. I guess the guy will begin removing the carpet in the front bedroom first thing in the a.m. That means it won't be done by the end of tomorrow. At least, the whole job won't be finished by then. It's the story of our lives.

I DO like the way it looks and I'm excited to see the end result.

In the meantime, no TV tonight.

No tv in motel room tutu? It’s good they caught the mistake early. I walked a half hour again today but at Home Depot! It was a cold rain out side. But Etta can go in there and there’s plenty of room to walk. 2 older men workers gave her a lot of attention. One cut up a cardboard box so her feet didn’t go thru the bottom of the basket. I pretended I was looking for Christmas stuff. I did get an idea for a present for youngest grandchild. Then I bought a bucket for 1.86. So I didn’t feel guilty. I’ve spent a lot in that store tho. All my floors

Neighbor bcame over and in clogged my printer. Then I made muffins. Sort of everything but the kitchen sink muffins. Blue berry banana coconut almond...they smell good. I haven’t tasted them yet. I’ve want d to make muffins since June

We’d I take Etta for haircut and while she is getting it I will drive up the coast a few towns to finally pick up my shoes. They will need to go to special cobbler but I think I will have to make a separate trip for that

I finally figured out what’s going on with my bills. In the last 3 months water sewer. Electric. And tv/internet went up about 300. One I changed companies cuz I reacted to the new box when mine broke. The other 2 were rate increases. With the allergies i use extra water for double rinses and I use a lot of hot water for detox baths.

I’m going to try to cut down on utility usage but I really don’t think I can change it. I turned off the tv but kept internet. That saved me 100. I may have to make more cuts.

I’m finding some shows on computer and I can watch them on tv. But it’s different I have amazon prime Netflix and cbs access.

Hopefully power wontbgonoffvtonight. 60 mph winds and rain. Snow in morning but not much. It’s much worse up in mountains and they live it for the snow sports

Well time for bed. See ya soon

Tutu--Still in motel? Never been in a motel room with no TV. Would go nuts and I don't watch that much T.V. Hope they get that floor in soon!

Ak-found new use for leaf blower. Used the leaf blower to blow of the light dusting of snow on the drive and walk. May not get to use it for leaves, this year, though.

Rode exercise bike and did some arm exercises with weights and stretches--about 20 minutes total. Have not ridden exercise bike in a long time and did not want to overdo.

Went to Insurance to turn in my certificate for the safe driving class I took online. Saves $20 per year for 3 years and then I have to retake it.

Went to library. Have 5 books that are due in a week, so I'd better start reading.

Good news on mom. No cancer detected in bone scan. I know she is in a lot of back pain due to degenerative discs and bone. Hoping pain specialist can help in January.

lp--Pray your new shoes work. And I hope the weather is nice for the coastal drive.

Today we had a wierd sloppy storm and plow guy didn’t even come. He’s pretty smart about snow. 4-5 inches fell but so much melted there was only 2” so I pushed it out of the way to get the trash cans out and then drive van back and forth a few times so even if it freezes I can get out in morning for groom and shoes. I feel like I dodged a bullet. We were right got in rain snow line and some up noth got 14”

So that was exercise plus mov d some furniture so I am closer to takingbrugbup in one bed room. Did laundry and dishes from muffins I made yesterday

Etta s bored. She gets used to longbwalkscquick. But tomorrow will be busy day for her

I will be happy to hear when the work is done tutu and you can settle in. I haven’t heard from my son. He’s supposed to be moving into his new house after a total mold remediation and make over. I hear my 5 yo grand daughter has a chandelier in her bedroom

Great news about your mom hiker...happy reading!

And happy exercising to you AK!

Oh. I tried my snowblower and it did not work well... but really there was more water than snow so I’m hopeful

I didn’t do any work on my bills tody. Maybe I will tonight

LP .. Good idea to go walk in Home Depot! Mine is less than two miles away. I was in there today and the guy at the door wanted to know if that's all I was doing in that BIG store. (I just returned something.)

I said, "Yeah, I can't walk this big store!"

We are spending the nights in our condo each night. We are hanging out at church during the day. The main TV is disconnected in the living area where the guy is working.

Had a slow down today because he spent all morning in the city getting the under-layment. He said he will be here at 8:30 in the morning tomorrow and expects to be finished by Friday morning. Sheesh.

What happened to a TWO day job? He said the furniture is slowing him down the way this floor is laid is a bit different from most. Not hard, just takes getting used to and it's slower.

We have less than half of the flooring done in the living area.

Hiker .. SO excited that your mother doesn't have cancer! Now if they can just relieve some of that pain.

Posted by aklnwlf (Member # 5960) on :

No exercise today just cooking, dishes and errands with Mom. Her tire pressure sensor light came on while we were out so I stopped to put air in all the tires. Only one was lower than the others. Will have to keep an eye on it.

Hope they get the flooring done soon TuTu. Can't believe they forgot the layer that goes underneath! Good thing you saw it! Hang in there and hope it looks fabulous when completed!

I don't know what you're doing different Kayak, but keep it up! So glad to hear you're doing better! You were way over due for some better days. I'm with Hiker about that coastal drive, sounds heavenly!

Thank God Hiker about your Mom! I'm so relieved that it's not cancer. That's a reason to celebrate! BTW, I have yet to use my new yard toy. One of the pit bulls jumped the fence the day before Thanksgiving into our yard and I've been a little leary of going in there. When I do I carry pepper spray, cellphone and pocket knife. Sheesh!

It's good to hear that we're all doing better!

See you all tomorrow!

[hi]

Ak--With a pit bull, I'd carry a machete. [Eek!]

Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :

Amen to that. I would also see about putting the rolls of barbed wire at the top of your fence!!

The continuing saga of Tutu's condo:

So I go to the city this morning to get acupuncture. Unbeknownst to me for several more hours, the worker called to tell me that when he pulled the baseboard off near the water heater closet, water began spewing everywhere!!!

There has been a nail in that water pipe for YEARS. Evidently it has had a very slow leak and it's created moisture in the inside wall of sheet rock inside the closet.

So we have black mold. No wonder I've been sick!!! Can you say MCAS??

We may have to go ahead and have the water heater replaced since it will have to be pulled from the closet to fix the sheet rock (I think.) Can you say MORE EXPENSE??

We need prayer over here. [shake]

Posted by hiker53 (Member # 6046) on :

Tutu--Oh No! Mold is the worst! Hope they can get rid of all of it and maybe you will begin to feel better. Average life of a water heater is less than 10 years, so might be worth the extra expense.

Stayed up late last night to finish reading Every Breath--new book by Nicholas Sparks. Nice change from my mysteries.

Grocery run to Kroger this morning to use my coupons. I like their organic meat.

Walked 27 minutes at rec center this afternoon and then took a nap.

oh tutu its hard to see it but it is a blessing to find the mold sooner than later prayers for quick remediation and healing

I GOT MY SHOES!!!!! ($150.00) dropped one at cobbler for lift ($75.00) sure do hope they work ready next week its an hour away and a storm is coming about that time but what ever i ll get em when i get em then i think i wear them 15 min first day 30 min next day etc till i can tolerate them...

etta also got her haircut and i walked her 10-15 min 2 x and then came home and shoveld 20 min 2x its sooo heavy like rocks but also very wet and slippery snow blower does not work in this at all

an internet friend is in the hospital with pancreatitis shes fighting treatment whining about having to fast she waited 10 days before going in and wants to leave she doesnt seem to think its life threatening i keep swearing im done with her she wears me out

and then i found out another internet friend (but they both live close) smokes a lot..shes sick and ive been talking to her in a support group once she asked if she could rent a spot next to my house for her rv and i said yes but she didnt come...omg it never occureed to me someone with chronic illness would still be smoking anyway

ive been getting my share of exercise still need to pay and organize bills and then i will pack up the room with the rug that needs it removed maybe get to that next week

tutu it really is a blessing to find it my new water heater has a pan under it in case it leaks but a nail in the pipe would still be a problem how did that even happen?????

im trying to only do laundrey in cold water and i stopped tv i hope that helps with elec bill im thinking about wearing only a few clothes that are really light and easy to wash and dry to cut down more we ll see i might have to stop buying water to drink and change my detox bath to just a foot soak idk maybe something will happen my vinyl building is still standing after 60mph winds and 4 inches of heavyt wet slop on it that is something to be greatful for!

oh hiker i bought organing meat today too on way home from groomer they close christmas eve day til march so i might go there one more time they usually have a big sale on whatever is left

i got a califlower today too...im so tired...nite

LP .. no renters on your property, OK? Always say NO. lol

yeah, It's good it was found. I'm worried about getting it done quickly and correctly.

I think the nail was put in the baseboard when this place was built 11-12 years ago. It was a tiny hole, but when removed .. well .. you know.

I don't know who to call first. I think this plumber does other work, so I may let him do all of it. He's licensed and everything.

Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :

LP .. Congrats on the shoes!! $150 is a really good price!! Be sure to go slowly breaking them in.

Update ..

Our friend who fixed our ceiling said he can take care of the mold and the water heater. His wife has MCAS.

Took my Mom's car for a front end alignment and then headed to the gym.

2 warm up laps (not enough), 30 minutes on the elliptical, 2 laps to cool down and 3 sets of 8 on the weight machines for chest/back and inner/outer thighs. Sauna was working so 10 blissful minutes to cook out the soreness.

Working out has made me ravenous the past 2 times I've gone. Hope that stops soon since I've gained a few pounds since Thanksgiving.

A machete....LOL! I'd look kinda crazy out there with that and my leaf blower/vacuum/mulcher! Kudos on the 27 Hiker!

Barbed wire sounds great TuTu but you know in our society I'd probably be sued and charged with animal cruelty. I was actually thinking of a taser and a larger pepper spray. Also I can't believe what's happening with your condo! Maybe it's a blessing in disguise since black mold was discovered. Hope and pray that everything is fixed and your health improves!

I try to cut corners too Kayak when it comes to expenses. I use the same towel to dry off with for about a week since I'm already clean. Also I wear my clothes for a few days even my workout pants. The workout shirts I change every time I work out. Ditto what TuTu says about the renter! Smoking would be a deal breaker for me.

Unfortunately I'm still hungry so might go rustle up a snack.

Night all!

[Roll Eyes]

Ak--I am impressed with how much you do at your gym workout.

Today I did 30 minutes of exercise and realized how weak my arms and legs have become. Also my balance is not as good since I retired from teaching.

Rode exercise bike for 10 minutes and then did a lot of stretching and some core exercises sitting on a ball. These also help my balance as well as arms and legs. That's all I could manage.

I will work up slowly or else I will just quit. Once the ice melts I will walk instead of riding exercise bike.

Ran a few errands. Needed more DGL. Went to Dollar General to get Christmas cards for this season and next.

Also picked up a couple of calendars. I always hang a Psalm's calendar on kitchen wall for appointments as a back to my phone.

I have a desk calendar where every day I write down what supplements I am taking and how much. Also write # of exercise minutes.

Heading to comfy chair to read.

Hi I’m in bed. So exhaust d from shoveling rain is forecast but I have to get heavy snow away from foundation

Tv guybcame and turned of tv. He was nice. I think I will have plenty to watch. I can see live on cbs. And more than I can watch on amazon and Netflix

I called to check on home eq loan and I’m glad I did. It was stuck on her desk and I have what she needs right here. Took it to bank and bought pizza slice for supper. I am so so tired. Can’t cook. Can barely move between bed couch and toilet

She says loan will close before Christmas. That will be nice. To get rid of credit card debt

Tutu I hope so much your house gets straightened out soon

I’m like hiker. Can’t imagine doing the exercise you do. But good for you! Just don’t hurt yourself

Hiker I hope your project goes smoothly too. If my loan goes thru I want to get new French doors where slider is

And a shed

And the last part of house that wasn’t done...the wall with the kitchen sink

Man. My knees hurt so bad. And I’m just lying here whew. I think I’m gonna rub something on them. See ya later

Hiker .. I hope you can find a way to improve your balance and upper body strength. Since I'm doing exercises for my hip, I realize how lousy my conditioning is also!

So our friend came early this morning and took out that sheet rock that had mold on it. We are not replacing it right away. We're just so "done" with repairs. It was maybe a 4 X 4 section.

He thinks the water heater looks OK for now. Honest man!

The guy who messed up our place came by to give me a check for $500. Amazing. He told me two weeks ago that he would, but then he went on vacation. Now .. will it cash?

It was good that he also got to see the new improved ceiling. HA! He agreed that it looked good.

Our floor guy finished the living area. Remember, it's now THURSDAY!! Good grief! So he begins work on the small bedroom tomorrow.

Next week is the worst .. the large bedroom.

Kayak .. I guess all that walking wore you out? How are the shoes? I know it will take awhile to adjust to them.

I hope the loan will help!

AK.. That IS a lot of exercise! One of my friends has been running and she said she is now starving! Maybe it does get better as your body adjusts.

I went to one of our favorite restaurants today .. just a small Mexican food place. I needed to use the restroom first and the air "freshener" nearly killed me. It was horrible .. some kind of Christmasy smell... pine or spruce or something.

I got asthma from it and have felt off the whole rest of the day. I think I'm going to write them a letter. That thing was rather large for such a small bathroom. People have gone nuts with fragrances. (poisons)

Just went to the post office today to mail packages for my Mom. Other than that just cooked and did dishes. Still pigging out.......

I don't exercise nearly as much since my pelvic prolapse Hiker. No ab or butt exercises which I miss. Ab workout has always helped support my back. Still trying to figure out what exercises are safe for me.

Your plans for your house sound great Kayak! What do you use for your knees? My left one has been acting up lately.

Hope that check is good TuTu! I unplugged one of those revolting air fresheners once while waiting for an oil change. I unplug them if I can find them.

Well guess I'm off to bed....Night all!

[sleepy]

AK--good idea to unplug air fresheners. I laughed when I read that.

Walked 25 minutes outside--sunny and 45. Then did some stretching and core balance exercises for 15 minutes.

Grocery shopped for produce, but forgot the cranberries. May head back there.

Tutu--sounds like progress is happening with repairs.

I was hoping to watch Illini volleyball tonight. They are in the NCAA tournament but not on TV. Oh well. I will read about it tomorrow.

Was ready to go to the gym today but something I ate made me sick. I tried this new quinoa already made meal and within 30 minutes or so my stomach started to hurt and I had to run back and forth to the bathroom.

So I've been in bed today but feel better. So just broth and tea when I can stomach it.

It was a nice day here too Hiker. Kudos on the 25! It would have been the perfect day to try out my new lawn toy. Darn!

Well off to find something to watch on TV.

I don’t wear my shoes yet. But be is at the cobblers getting the lift. I’m supposed to pick it up wed. I really wanted to walk Etta today. I’m done shoveling til wed except when snow falls off roof onto a walkway

But I was slow getting going and then decided to go buy apples in Maine. An hour drive to get Etta out of house and it was dark when we got back so no walk.

But I did make some progress in the living room

My brother in Alaska is ok. It was scary for awhile. They live on an island next to ocean and there was tsunami scare at first

Posted by hiker53 (Member # 6046) on :

lp--Glad your brother is ok in AK.

Ak--Hope your tummy feels better.

Except for a few odds and ends chores, I have been very lazy today. Mainly reading.

Sorry to see President George H.W. Bush passed away. I always thought he and Barbara were a class act even if I didn't always agree with their opinions.

Hope you all have a relaxing evening.

We are under a tornado watch. Snow in November and tornados in December. Bizarre.

Ak .. sounds like the early stages of GI anaphylaxis. Be careful.

I would unplug these but I'm sure I would be sprayed and then die an early death!! lol.. These are the BIG sprayers with no plugs visible.

I found out that this one had just been "refreshed." I am on an FB group where people stick tags on them saying they are toxic. I need to get some of those!

Our worker got the front room finished! Took him about 5-6 hours. He forgot the hallway closet and I needed to put stuff back that is in the large bedroom. Sigh. I do think it was more important to do the front room completely though.

He was SO tired and he's been fighting a cold.

I swept the front porch last night and made my hips and knee worse. (Had to bend down 8-10 times to pick up the leaves I swept...now the leaves were blown on the porch again.) Then I had to help decorate the tree at church. I always do the garland and it takes a lot of bending and walking. OUCH.

So .. do I have any steam left for clearing my room tonight? Probably not! Tomorrow I'm going to a show in the afternoon with friends. I need the rest! [Smile]

That earthquake was scary, LP!! I have two friends there and one of them also lives on an island. They are both OK. Alaska is kinda big .. lol.

We had storms and tornadoes last night here. I slept through it. Hey, why not?

Made it to the gym and did 10 minutes of walking on the indoor lap and 15 minutes on the elliptical followed with another 10 minutes of walking.

Sat in the sauna for 15 blissful minutes then showered.

Rushed home to change and headed out to a local pub to watch the South Eastern Conference championship football game between Alabama and Georgia. Rooted and hollered for GA the whole time. Killer game with the deciding touchdown scored in the last 2 minutes of the game! My team lost but still exciting!

Glad your brother is OK Kayak! I've yet to check in with my friends up there.

Bummed about 41 also Hiker! That's so freaky that you're under a tornado watch! Hope you're safe!

What is it with the winter tornadoes TuTu? I never knew they occurred in the winter! BTW, hope it's not anaphylaxis, that's all I need. Looking to buy different supplements, maybe some zinc, B6 and Prickly Ash Bark per some of Keebler's posts. Have to double check my functional medicine chiro's list to see which ones I needed.

Anywho....off to lay down....drank to many beers at the pub.....
