Happy Mother’s Day!

Ready to get your groove on for this week. Report your exercise whether it is planting flowers, watching birds vacuuming, cleaning or cooking. It all counts!

I did my shoulder exercises today and my knee exercises.

Fried some lamb patties and managed to set off the smoke alarm several times. Frantically fanning it so the neighbors don’t come running over.

Then I realized I had splattered grease on the kitchen floor. So I mopped it and it was still very slick, so I had to mop it twice more. Still waiting for it to dry to see if I can navigate it. Not good for my shoulder.

Otherwise I’ve had a lazy day of playing on my phone and reading.

Have a super week! [Cool]

Hey there! I hope that floor will be OK, hiker!! Good job on the exercises and the cooking!!

I spent yesterday supervising the cleaning up of my balcony. It looks really nice now. With my back and hip problems I just couldn't tackle it

My friend's fiance' did lots of hard work and cleaned all the patio furniture, etc. He's young and strong, so it was a piece of cake for him. I am so grateful!

We had supper here with hubby too and then we worked on the wedding invitation list. I am in charge of sending them out. I'll probably do them in calligraphy since there aren't that many anyway.

This afternoon I went to a show. I had planned to go to a different one but it was canceled. Now I get to go to two more shows in exchange for the one that was canceled. DEAL!!!

I'm also going to hubby's show tonight. Some friends from church may go too. I won't know until I get there.

I hope everyone had a great day .. esp if you are a mother!

Tutu- hope the show was good. I love flowers so much and I bet they really jazzed up your balcony.

I went to physical therapy this morning and got three new exercises. These were exercises I could do very easily before surgery. Now I can barely do them. Have a long way to go for my range of motion and strength.

The girl who took me to therapy, dropped me off and then went to the library for me, so I’m stocked up with books.

Sunny outside today but windy. When I get a little more confidence I’d like to try and go for a walk. Today’s walk was just down to the mailbox.

My neighbor’s little three-year-old girl is tall enough to open my mailbox and keeps peering in and trying to grab the mail while hanging from the box. I finally subtly said something to the mother today. I can’t afford to lose bills or have her break the box.

Seems like my exercises took up most of my day.

Going to make a tossed salad to go with the rice pasta dish from Freshly. Their food is decent but often lacks vegetables.

Even when I can drive and get to the grocery store myself, I’m going to need help carrying in the groceries, so I might keep ordering online for a little while longer.

Thanks for getting us started this week Hiker! Can't believe that you're already mopping floors and cooking! Sounds like you have everything under control and ordering groceries online is a brilliant idea!

TuTu your balcony and flowers are gorgeous! You did a great job! Hope you enjoyed the shows!

Well gang....I'm gonna call it a night. My new liquid med is making me very, very sleepy!

I slept in until almost 9 o’clock this morning. It is taking me a long time after the surgery to get rid of my fatigue.

For the first time since shoulder surgery I put on jeans. Easy to zip and button now. Did my physical therapy exercises for my shoulder and my knee exercises.

Gorgeous day here, so I did a tour around the yard, filled one feeder and then took a 10 minute walk.

I think the leg exercises are helping so I will be able to walk longer distances soon.

I sat out on my back deck and watched the birds. Today I saw grosbeak and an American redstart.

Overdid it cutting limbs back while on a ladder today. Was outside about 3 1\2 hours.

That was my exercise for the day. I'm wiped out!

See everyone tomorrow!

Thanks, AK!! Sounds like you overdid it a bit. Hope you feel OK tomorrow!

Jeans, hiker! Woot! Walking will be great therapy.

Put wet newspaper and mulch around the strawberries I transplanted. It was rather chilly at 53 degrees with a breeze.

I have almost 3/4 of the new strawberry bed planted. If its not too wet tomorrow, maybe I can get the rest of the bed filled.

Will need to cut the asparagus again tomorrow.

Went to pick up more feed for the chickens and the goats this afternoon.

Gorgeous day out with sunshine and warmth. I sat out on my back porch this afternoon.

I went to physical therapy this morning. The therapist said I am improving slowly but surely. Did my exercises again this afternoon.

Sometimes my legs feel really heavy like lead and today was one of those days. So I just walked around my cul-de-sac and I did walk to and from the car at Physical Therapy.

I spent some time this afternoon trying to order groceries from local stores. Kroger didn’t seem to have what I wanted but I bet if I went to the store they would and I couldn’t figure out how to use the coupons that they sent me.

Jewel advertise free delivery for the first time but not in my area. So, I would have to use Instacart which charges a fee. I still may do it if I can’t find someone to take me to the store tomorrow.

I am getting really tired of asking for rides. And several of my friends who would normally give them to me are out of town.

AK— I bet your haircut is cute. I hope you took it easy at the gym after all your hard work in the yard yesterday. What do you use to cut the limbs?

Hi everyone! Tweaked my bad shoulder so I have a pain relieving patch on and just took a muscle relaxer and a mild pain med.

Got my usual super short pixie cut and went to the gym. Did 18 minutes on the treadmill and 20 minutes in the sauna trying to relax my tweaked shoulder. Then ran a bunch of errands.

Manna sounds like another idyllic day in paradise! How are the baby goats doing?

Hi TuTu!

Hiker I believe in self-punishment so I used pruners and a regular hand saw to cut the limbs. I should have known better than to cut overhead! Bigger limbs need a chainsaw. I'm glad you enjoyed the beautiful day!

Well off to watch some tv.......

AK—You sawed thick three limbs? Ouch!

Manname—I have been eating goat yogurt lately. It doesn’t bother me like milk. Would love to see your kid goats.

Did my shoulder exercises twice and have one more round to go. Did my knee exercises but my left knee is starting to hurt again.

My neighbor, Don, took me to the grocery store. He drove my car and I think he really likes it. Of course, I forgot to get an onion.

I still need someone to take me to Kroger to get the rest of my groceries this weekend. That’s where I get my organic meat and gluten-free items.

Dan also hooked up my garden hoses for me.

I think I have a bit of a respiratory virus. Allergies aren’t helping but it’s not all allergy related.

Well, I think I’ll go read a bit and then plant myself in front of the TV for a little while. Storms expected to roll in later.

My daughter is making goat milk yogurt with the extra milk. We are also selling some to lady who wants it for her son.

The kids are doing very well this year. Last year they all died. We think they had a selenium deficiency. This year she gave the kids selenium and some other nutrient blend for newborns.

The day afterwards, the kid who was having trouble walking, was up and hopping around. We were delighted!

Planted more in my garden tonight. Tomatoes that we started from seed, beans and corn. By the time that was planted it was getting too dark to read the seed packets.

Hubby and sonny both laid out in the sun on the patio this afternoon. It was in the 70's today. Both are complaining of muscle pain and sonny's intestines are creating misery for him.

Sonny goes to the LLMD for a nutritional IV next week. Hopefully he will start feeling better and can eat more.

Did PT and triceps workout today. Ironed clothes, cooked myself an early dinner and did dishes.

Hiker the limbs were pretty small. Need a chainsaw for the biggins. Hope you can knock that infection out soon!

Manna glad the kids are thriving! Oh....I didn't realize you had a child that has Lyme! Thought it was just your hubby. Is it just the 2 that have Lyme in your family? How awful for you!

Well.....about to zonk out! Night all!

I went to physical therapy this morning and the therapist says I’m making quite a bit of progress compared to last week. That makes me feel good because I do work hard.

I did a touch of weeding, but I really can’t get the dandelions out unless I use the dandelion picker. I think that would be hard on my shoulders.

Filled the birdfeeder for the finches. Paid bills.

Took a nap. Well, I laid down on my bed but I didn’t sleep. I’m trying to ease out of the recliner and back into my bed.

Stripped the sheets from the guest bedroom and washed them. But now I need help making the bed. I think my friend Deb is coming over tomorrow to help me make the bed and trade my winter quilt for my summer quilt on both beds.

I turned on the air-conditioning today. It’s only about 80 outside but it’s so humid and my allergies have gone nuts so I didn’t want to open the windows. Hate to pay the bill though.

AK- I know you are proud of Josh for getting higher degrees and another graduation. Enjoy tonight.

Lo- I hope you got your new shoes and that they help you.

Tutu-What are you up to? Hope you had a good day today!

hiker, I'll see if I can get my daughter to take a picture of the kids and upload it. I'm a little technology challenged. LOL

AK, my hubby has lyme and two of our children were diagnosed. The one didn't have enough bands to exactly call it lyme, but had ALL the symptoms.

Both treated with herbals and pretty much recovered. Sonny had a relapse this spring. Daughter had to cut back a day of work and doesn't have the umph she had pre-lyme.

The 3rd child was (BTW, they are all teenagers) having some symptoms and when I told our LLMD, he says "uh oh, that doesn't sound good". So we put him on the same herbal program and he seems to have recovered completely. He's working full time and doing online high school at the same time.

Hiker I'm glad you're recovering so quickly after surgery! Hold off on the weeding please!

Manna it's so wonderful that your kids are doing OK. I can't imagine how hard it must of been with everyone in your family contracting Lyme. Was your herbal program something your LLMD set up or did himself? I went the traditional medical route and holistic treatments and supplements too.

I went to the gym this morning and did 17 minutes on the treadmill. Then a little over 10 minutes in the sauna. Also did my PT but think my neck and SI are locked up again. See my therapist on Monday.

Afterwards had to turn into the yellow tornado and clean Josh's house. So I did housework for a couple of hours.

Today Josh graduated with his 3rd degree! This one a Specialist in Education degree. One step down from a doctorate degree.

We are so proud of him!

Josh's Dad and sister came up from FL and are staying with him until Sunday, hence the house cleaning.

Afterwards we all went out to dinner and then it was cake and ice cream later at Josh's.

I'm so ready to call it a night!

See everyone tomorrow!

Manna .. I hope all the kids are doing better! [Wink]

Hiker .. that sounds awesome about the progress!!

AK .. So proud of your nephew! Way to go! Does he want to be a principal one day??

I didn't do much today. Washed some clothes, took a quick trip to WM, then just goofed off.

Hubby went out on his motorcycle. I'm always grateful he comes home safely. I now follow him on "Life 360" app. I can see where he is.

He goes out in the boonies, so we both worry he could get into trouble and not be able to get help.

Good night!

Tutu— I can imagine you’d be worried with your husband driving a motorcycle. But I bet he really enjoys it.

Manname- you are an inspirational caretaker. Has to be hard having a husband with Lyme and kids with symptoms. I’m impressed with all that you manage to do. My prayers for your family.

AK- glad you get to see the physical therapist again. Hope you can be helpful and you can keep your joints unlocked. That means no trimming trees. LOL

I did my physical therapy exercises today. Now that I am adding exercises that use my elbow the tendonitis in my right elbow has really flared up. I knew that was going to be a problem with my rehab. ☹️

I cooked a meatloaf and put it in the freezer. Luckily I had half of an onion in the fridge and I could use my scissors to cut it up.

Deb and Charlie came over and took the winter quilts off my beds, put them away and got out my summer quilts.

My grandmother made both of these quilts. One of them has scenes from the book Little Women. A lot of people tell me to save them and not use them, but I like to use them on the beds.

Humid and rainy this afternoon, so I’ve been reading and watching some recorded shows.

PT and triceps workout. Ran a couple of errands. Made a salad and garlic bread. Mom made spaghetti and we carted everything to Josh's for dinner.

I had my own different salad with chicken and I brought frozen fruit for dessert. [Roll Eyes]

Josh loves teaching TuTu. I think he'd like to teach at the college level one day. He'd go for his doctorate but says he can't manage that and work full time. So....I'm hoping to win the Lotto and help him out...LOL! I almost bought a motorcycle in AK (I'd have to learn to drive one) but my legs were to short and my friend said it wouldn't be safe. That app sounds very fun!

Hiker I've got to stay out of the yard! It's hard for me to look outside and not want to work on things. Sorry the elbow is giving you trouble. Also I'm with you on using things. My Mom has all this china so I use the butterfly Lenox dishes as often as I can. I like to use everything I have.

Well...think I'm going to hit the hay. Night everyone!
