Two things of interest:

Stephen King posted this on twitter:
" Want a little bedtime story? My friend felt he had a hair caught between his eye and his glasses. He couldn't get rid of it, so he looked in the mirror. A tick was crawling on his eyeball. Nighty-night, sleep well."

A band appearing at a local event - "The Dead Ticks".

What a great opportunity for this genre author to post that. In such style, too. But, geez. Who would have thought?

A good thing to remember to keep a mirror & a full bottle (or two) of eye drops with one at all times - to flush out of eye, hopefully.

If successful in flushing it out and capture on a tissue, would also want a good antibiotic eye drop on hand. Wonder if colloidal silver drops might work until one can consult a good LLMD about next steps.

would not want to trust the ER interns in removing a tick from eyeball, though. It's a good thing the critter was still moving when he found it.

when walking in the woods I also think a cotton ball in the ears might be a barrier for the ears.

Sick....I've actually seen a picture of a tick on an eyeball. So gross.
