Hi Gang
I was to get a back MRI Monday.

I am very very, clostraphobic,so i had valium to take before the MRI. So i got senior services to take me.

They have mini vans but they came in a bus.I rode like it had no springs and bounced me all over.

In ten miles my back was hurting so bad i was crying, and also yelling on bumps.

They had to park and get the emergency squad to get me out of the bus.

They took me to the ER I got a morphine shot and was admitted to the hospital.

They did the MRI there and a cat scan.

I have 2 herniated disk,and arthritis in 234 and 5 vertibray.

I am to see a neurologist, or the Mayfield place
which ever can get me in first.

I am home again, with oxycodone. but am supposed to try gabapentin instead first. for nerve pain.

I can't believe they did that to you. How awful!!!

I hope you can get some sleep and some relief.

I so wish I could take pain meds.

Sounds horrible MD! Hope the pain meds help.

I have terrible claustrophobia too. One time I panicked while having an MRI and tried to claw my way out of the machine.

My sister took me to a liquor store so I bought a small bottle of vodka. So I drank some, took a pain pill and muscle relaxer and went right back to have that MRI.

I slept through the whole thing!

Get better soon!

I am so sorry, Maddog.
I am all for non-invasive care. Have you tried heat/ice applied to the area?
I put a wet, wrung out tea towel folded into a quart freezer plastic bag and heat it for 1 minute in the microwave. Then I wrap it (folding over all sides )in a hand towel and apply it to the hurting back for
20 minutes. Sitting or lying down. Then I apply an ice pack for another 20 minutes. I do that do that every couple of hours.

My chiropractor told me about that. Chiropractors can help a lot.

Neurologist's LOVE to prescripe Gabapentin.
And at high doses.

My Neuro wanted me to gradually increase to 1200mg daily.
No way. The most I could do was 600mg daily, felt less pain, but was a spaced out zoombie. No driving, no cooking, couldn't leave the house, carried my phone in my bathrobe at all times. Who can live like that. . .no quality of life.

The literature leaflet says you can not overdose on Gabapetin.
Opioid prescribers are now told to lower their scripts due to abuse and addition. Neuro doc's love the non-liability of Gabapetin.

It has been a miracle CURE for my IC bladder pain.
Haven't had a flare in 2 years! I now have 100mg capsules of Gabapetin so I can control dosage. It relaxes the bladder like nothing else.

The way my LLMD explained it to me was Lyme thrives on collegen, filaments, fibers, and muscles. It's so important to have these strong structures intact in your vertebrae. That's why many LLMD'S are promoting stem cells in their practice.

Stem cells don't kill Lyme, don't cure Lyme.
But stem cells rebuild the damage caused by Lyme.
Many patients recover with this treatment and become pain free. The price quoted to me was 4,000 $ out-of-pocket. So it is out of reach for most.

I have found a Neuro doc who is doing a trial with the patients in his practice and might take my insurance. So I'm looking into it.

I also take curtesy vans to my out of town doc appointments.
I am very grateful for this service as I would have no other way to see my many providers. But there are many patients to be picked up and dropped off. One time it took me 6 hours to get home. And another time, a patient asked the rest of us in the van if it was ok if she could smoke ! So you have to take the good with the bad.

Feel your pain, bub.
