Dr Saravanan Thangamani, a professor of the university’s Microbiology and Immunology, reports ticks are appearing in new counties, there are more of them, testing shows more infections, and they are traveling to the Canadian border.
More ticks have been found in April than previously have been sent in.
The lab is receiving more than 100 ticks per day.

If you send in a tick that has bitten you and it tests positive for any pathogens, regardless if you are asymptomatic, your doctor should treat you immediately.
