Hey, gang!! [hi]

We did the church thing and then picked up some food from Chili's. Headed for a nap now.

We have a big OCC meeting tonight in a nearby town. Should be great! We have guest speakers from Texas. They packed 3,000 shoe boxes right after Hurricane Harvey. They were flooded by the storm but that did not deter this congregation of 30 people. Yes, 30!!

See ya later!

Oh .. Hiker .. I'm afraid it's from mold in the outside wall. Water was running down that wall that day!!

The mold in the HVAC closet was removed.

When we got the new HVAC in Oct, my installer couldn't put my UV light back on the new unit.

He is coming over soon to see if he can figure out a way to do it .. or to install a new one. It really helps the moldy smell.

I did a load of laundry this morning.

Went to the grocery store to pick up salad fixings because Unlike Manname I don’t have a garden this year.

I did my physical therapy exercises for my shoulder. The therapist told me I only had to do them once for three days in a row. I fear he will then torture me when I go back on Tuesday. [Eek!] Normally I do them 2-3 times daily.

I sat outside for about 25 minutes grounding myself to the earth. But it’s 93° and humid, so I came back in.

I count it a blessing to have air-conditioning.

Have a good week and stay safe in this heat! [Cool]

Did my shoulder exercises.

Went to bank and library.

Went to chiropractor and released a slew of toxins from germs energy healer killed on Friday.

Think I am still fighting sinus infection. My head feels like it is going to explode.

Sat outside for awhile, but another hot day, so came in to pay bills and write a friend a letter.

Will be lazy the rest of the day.

AK-how was your trip?

Today I continued housework. Mostly in kitchen today. I’m having a hard time keeping up with the basics. I keep making changes to make things easier but it really isn’t easier yet. I did extra work yesterday preparing for storms. My place is ok. A lot of damage close by tho.

Hello everyone! Got back yesterday and I'm pooped! Hit the ground running when I got to ATL on Wednesday. We went out most very night either for dinner, dancing and shooting some pool. Also shopped a bit while there.

We went boating on Friday on Lake Lanier from 1:00 to 7:30 and ate lunch at Fish Tales.

Saturday was my friend's birthday but we started celebrating when I arrived on Wednesday.

Saturday we all stayed out until 5:30 in the morning! Up at 10:30 to pick up a few things at a Japanese market there then came home. Whew!

Hoping to get back into the swing of things.

Sounds like tons of fun, AK!! I'm glad you were able to enjoy it!

We haven't been doing very much.

Monday I went for traction on my back and then overdid it the rest of the day.

I also had an appointment with my pedorthist. He fixed a steel plate to go under my right foot. I don't want it to hurt like my left one does. So ..hoping to prevent issues.

I will see my podiatrist this Friday.

Tutu, I am trying to picture the steel plate under your foot. It doesn’t sound very comfortable.

AK - sounds like you had a great time. Are you in recovery mode or are you hiding from the heat down there?

LP— how’s the yard sale going?

I went to physical therapy this morning and the therapist said I did a great job—probably the best he’s seen in terms of my range of motion.

And then I did my exercises again this afternoon. I report for more torture tomorrow with him.

I’m still not feeling well enough to do a bunch of errands. I want to get to Kroger to get some organic meat and a few other items but my legs are like lead today.

So, I wrote another letter to a friend who happens to be a former teacher. She taught me P.E. junior high. Such a great teacher and we’ve kept in touch ever since.

Have a good evening!

No, but it stabilizes the foot. I've been wearing one in the left shoe for 9 months now. I do have very good orthotics against the foot .. so it's not like I'm walking on a metal plate.

It helped for awhile, now my foot is giving me trouble again.

All the podiatrist wants to do is a bone scan, which involves an isotope. We'll see if he will go for an MRI. But, my pedorthist said he's probably looking for what is going on in the bones.

My GP said the issue is likely the tendons. I "tend" to agree. [Wink] ,,, BUT... I have old stress fractures ..

Did my PT exercises throughout the day and my arm workout this morning. Didn't make it to the gym again.

Took Mom to PT and then errands and grocery shopping. Managed two loads of laundry too.

Need to do some yard work but it's sweltering down here. 97 was the high today.

Anyways...hoping to sleep but my upper thoracic spine is hurting a bit. This has happened on and off for months now. Don't know what's going on there.

Well....see everyone tomorrow!

AK. Upper thoracic is where my first Lyme pain was. It’s a common Lyme spot. I can’t sleep. It’s hot but I’m also upset about the upcoming reunion with 4 of my siblings and their kids. My grand kids might be there too. And some if not all my kids. But I’m a wreck. I’m really getting older. I’m fine driving around town and to the beac as long nag as it’s not traffic times. But I will be going thru MA and CT for 3 hrs each way. Too much traffic for me. I got a motel room but I’m so scared the chemicals or bedbugs will get me. I’m newly dx with mcas and not on good meds yet. Ha! Maybe since I wrote all that my fears will be gone and I ll be able to sleep. Tutu I’m going to a 4 th podiatrist soon. It took me two years to get shoes made special to correct uneven leg length after knee surgery. Now a whole bunch of things are going wrong tips of toes have burning pain. One bunion needs surgery but most docs say it is too bad and they won’t do surgery. Hammer ties and toenail troubles. Test for fungus was beg. But they are not healthy. And at times I can’t put any weight at all on them because it feels like the bones crack and move out of joint. They have not been xrayed. Maybe they have stress fractures. I saw a positive ad about an independent odiatrist. I hope he can help. Ann nice to hear you are moving forward in recovery. A K ... you sound crazy girl. Those kind of party days are way in the past for me. Ok. Pray for sleep!

AK .. if it's not structural, then it may be from MCAS. They call it the "coat hanger" pain. It's on a line across the shoulders and then up to the neck.

LP .. yes, my feet feel like they will crack, even with very good orthotics. The first thing my doctor does is X-ray my feet. That is pretty standard.

Then they can see if you have stress fractures.

I just ran across this:

Ak--Would a chiropractic adjustment help that spine?

Went to physical therapy. He is starting to increase strength exercises although we are still working on range of motion especially putting hand behind my back.

Went to library and loaded up on books. I put them on hold at various times and they all seem to come in at once. LOL

Decided I am not cooking tonight. I have a gift card for Chipotle and a gift card for Monicals pizza (can get gluten free crust). Need to decide which I crave the most. [Roll Eyes]

Riley came and trimmed the bushes and did a lot of weeding for me. Wish he was a bit cheaper, but I can't do it myself at the moment so am biting the bullet and paying.

Rain moving in soon. Off to read a bit.

Still doing my at home PT. Ordered stuff from Amazon, made potato salad, dry rubbed the ribs and put in fridge and cut up watermelon for tomorrow.

Just gonna be me, Josh, my Mom and her BFF tomorrow celebrating the 4th. Pork ribs, potato salad, corn on the cob, baked beans, watermelon, apple pie and ice cream are on our little menu.

You know what gang? I think my upper back pain might be related to the accident in February. It's on the same side as my neck and SI injury. Took pain pills and muscle relaxers last night with the typical MCAS reaction of feeling crappy most of the day. My Mom put a Japanese pain patch on me today and it feels better.

Kayak I'm glad to see you back on the thread! My toenails and toes look bad also. Was told it's psoriasis and clears up quite a bit when I fast. Gets worse with mast cell triggers. Oh...and my party days are few and far between thank God! Every now and then I do like to bust loose though!

You know TuTu I think if my pain isn't from the accident it's gotta be mast cell related. I definitely ate and drank to much while in ATL and it could be from that.

Hiker I just can't do the hand behind the back stretch! I've lost quite a bit of my range of motion from either my slightly dislocated clavicle or when they heat and shrink wrap your tendons both done during surgery. I've been craving pizza so badly. Looked at gluten free options at the commissary today but Dominoes would be much cheaper.

OK gang...off to bed! See everyone tomorrow!

Happy Independence Day!🎆

AK—sounds like a great 4th of July feast

I did my shoulder exercises twice. Am a lot sorer after he upped the strength exercises.

Went to grocery store. Surprised at how crowded it was. Mixed going to the second store.

Sat outside a little while. Hot and humid. Hoping the rain holds off until after the fireworks even though I am not planning to venture out to see them.

Am being a couch potato now reading a good mystery.

AK .. could be either .. but you will sort it out.

Good job, hiker!!

I went to Bible study this morning. We all agreed that today would fit into our schedules.

I also met with our friend who fixed our ceiling last fall.

He is pretty sure the mold issue that is in my closet is all from the jacuzzi tub. A pipe must be leaking. I haven't used the tub and it hasn't been run in over a year, but there is mold in the jets and under the tub.

I guess we will be paying the bucks to convert it into a shower. Might get a small linen closet out of it too.

May also get a UV light put back in the HVAC. I miss the one I had.

Tutu--Hope you get the mold problem fixed.

Went to physical therapy. Slow but steady progress.

Spent time on phone with DirectTV which dropped the local CBS station. I watch this station more than any other.

Hoping to get it back--contractual issue with owner of local station and ATT (who owns DirectTV) Managed only to get a $10 credit.

Very tired today, so time to rest.

Rain started just as we finished planting the sweet potatoes. So glad we finally got them in the ground! Also planted 4 rows of sweet corn.

The green & yellow beans have tiny little beans hanging on, so next week there will most likely be beans to pick.

I was hoping to dig up a few red potatoes - wonder how big they are by now? We had red beets twice. Didn't try the yellow beets yet.

Sonny pulled a carrot to eat, they are still very small, but he can hardly wait!

Rested all day yesterday and really needed it. Took Advil PM for back pain yesterday.

Did my at home PT for neck and SI joint and am debating on doing a little bit of yardwork today. Been raining but it's stopped and I need to pick up debris from trees and trim bushes and growth from tree stumps.

TuTu mold sucks! I found ours on the bedroom windows. In my room and my Mom's we have the window that pushes outward to open it and both of those types have mold. And they're located above our beds! I can afford maybe replacing just the 2 but my Mom is not very thrilled with that idea. Oh well....thank goodness I bought that little ozone generator.

Hiker I used to have Dish Network and even though they promised local channels, I never had any. When I finally switched to Directv they promised yet again to add local channels and I just hung up on them. Really? Can't believe they used that tactic to get me to stay with them instead of switching. My Mom has cable so no problem there.

Manna I just love to read about your gardening adventures. My container plants are going bonkers! I bought discounted plants at my favorite nursery and 2 are vines. I don't have them staked and they're about 3 feet long now. My Mom's friends think I'm growing some type of potatoes. I sure didn't know what they were when I bought them but they looked pretty.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Ak--Looks mighty hot down south. I laughed at the thought of your mystery vines.

Very humid here, but temperature isn't too bad.

I sat outside for while grounding my feet to the earth. Got so involved in my thoughts I didn't realize little ants were all over my feet. Not the biting kind, at least.

Did my 2 sessions of physical therapy.

Made a meat loaf to freeze.

Baked salmon and had fresh green beans and sweet potato for lunch. Yum.

I did one load of laundry and will finish the rest tomorrow.

We had fresh new red potatoes for lunch today. I dug enough to have some tomorrow too. I'm glad I did because its pouring down rain again.

I did get all my laundry washed and dried out on the line and brought back inside long before it rained! Now there are great piles of wash to fold & put away. The children each have to put their own wash away.

AK, are the leaves on your mystery vine kind of heart shaped? Sweet potato leaves often are heart shaped.

Hiker, your lunch sounds delicious! I'm planting 3 different kinds of sweet potatoes this year. 2 are yellow and 1 is white with a red skin.

This afternoon I baked a gluten free angel food cake - sonny was happy about that. Also made rhubarb tapioca - though I'm the main one eating it. I want to make tapioca pudding with goats milk so sonny can have some.

Have a box of apricots to can tonight. I think I'll add a medium syrup instead of the heavy syrup to them. Don't like to use so much sugar.

PT at home then Mom and I hit the indoor flea market for a few hours. Bought 2 new hats, a wool one and an Alaskan baseball cap.

I'll have to check the names of my mystery vines and let you all know what they are. They didn't look viney when I bought them.

Hiker your lunch does sounds delicious and healthy! The ants I have in my yard are mostly the dreaded fire ants. I've been using bait to get rid of them.

Manna does your son have allergies? I try not to do gluten, dairy or sugar but I'm not very successful some days. Speaking of gardening, my Mom would just love it if I could grow some Okinawan sweet potatoes and goya (bitter melon). This spring I was tied up with selling my old property.

Well...it's late, 3:05 a.m. and I guess I'll try to get some shut eye. Night all!
