Here we go gang with another week of moving and grooving!

Are you gardening, walking, weight lifting, shopping, kayaking, doing laundry and cleaning house?

Just about anything counts as exercise here!

So, let's get out of the recliner, off the couch and out of bed and get moving!

[woohoo]

AK— thanks for starting the thread this week.

I am very impressed that you put the security lights up by yourself. The biggest obstacle for me besides electrocuting myself would be balancing on a ladder. Kudos to you!

I did my shoulder exercises twice today.

Walked for 15 minutes. I’m really off-balance, my legs are really weak, and my left knee is acting up again. But I’m gonna keep trying to do this.

I did a load of laundry.

Sat outside for a little while. Off to call my mom.

Have a great week!😎

Does sitting in front of the TV count? I get up and down now and then!!

Had a great church service today. We had a substitute Pastor and she is our "regular" sub. She had a great sermon about Mary and Martha.

She said don't forget to "rest in the Lord."

It was spot on because we had a youth group there from Nebraska. They were on a mission trip (here), where they helped paint a faith-based community health center.

Tomorrow they will help serve at a soup kitchen .. and then have some fun.

By the way, our sub Pastor suffers from Lyme and Morgellon's .. and now she's dealing with mold in their crawl space.

I've really enjoyed watching the documentaries about Apollo 11 .. and more. We watched them land on the moon on TV in our home in Houston.

Love all that stuff!!

Church, lunch and a nice long afternoon nap!

Started the new batch of Kombucha tea. Flavors this time: Peach, Black Cherry, Honey Lavender, and Blueberry.

Realfeel in the triple digits again today....

Made a cool drink using water, ice cubes, mint tea leaves and a little sugar. Put it in the blender and had a minty slushy.

Manname — drinks and mint slushy sounds wonderful!

I did my shoulder exercises twice today.

Walked 15 minutes.

I did some of the watering myself but friends came over this afternoon to finish the part where I had to drag the hose clear across the yard.

I filled the bird feeders.

Went to chiropractor. Am now exhausted!

Time to fix dinner and then relax.

Just PT today and ran some errands for my Mom. Visited with a friend this evening and that was it for my day.

Hiker you sure are inspiring me to start back at the gym! I'm glad my wiring worked and that I didn't get hurt. I bought this nifty gadget that beeps and lights up when you get close to a live wire.

TuTu getting up and down counts as exercise! When I was really sick I couldn't watch TV or sit up so I think it should count! Also must be neat to have a sub pastor that knows what you went through.

Manna I'm trying to revive a mint plant that a friend of my Mom's dropped off. I'm going to use mine in tea.

See everyone tomorrow!

I actually slept in my real bed for half the night instead of the recliner all night. Progress.

While the recliner does help with my sinus drainage, the bed is more comfortable as long as I don't roll over onto the shoulder.

Walked 16 minutes. Really struggling. My nervous system has been so damaged by tick borne infections. It is easy for me to walk on carpet, pretty easy on asphalt and very hard for me to walk on cement.

I think the softer surfaces give enough for my nervous system to adapt and feel comfortable. Since I haven't walked much outside this year, I am going to have to retrain myself on cement. [shake]

Went to physical therapy. He upped the weights and/or reps. But then gave me the rest of the day off from exercises.

Spent a lot of time trying to get my dad back into his email. I don't live in the same town, but finally managed to get it to work for him.

Time for a bit of reading. [Smile]

You're a computer whiz Hiker! I don't like walking on concrete either causes pain everywhere.

Still haven't made it to the gym. My Mom had 2 appointments again today.

Later I went to Josh's and helped him install a rear camera on his car to record read end accidents. So he has a really neat rearview mirror that records the stuff in front and shows the rear camera also. Technology is wonderful!

Tomorrow will be another busy day! Me, Josh, Mom and her BFF are going to a small town about 45 minutes away. We're dropping them off for a luncheon then Josh and I will have lunch downtown and do some antique shopping.

See everyone tomorrow!

Sounds fun, AK!

Hiker .. the BED!!! woohoo!

I went to lunch with a friend and then she and I and one other church member worked on our OCC inventory for about 2 hours.

We counted pencils, pens, erasers, scissors, etc. We were surprised at how much we had already accumulated this year!

We still have a ways to go. Fall is approaching!

They will come to work on our bathroom tomorrow...so I have to get to bed!

Nite!

Tutu--How is the bathroom work progressing? Hope it is not bothering you too much.

AK--Find any good buys while antique shopping. I must say I am impressed at how much your mother gets out at her age. Nice of you to take her places.

Walked 18 minutes. Huge struggle on the cement.

Talked to physical therapist about it. He thought balance therapy may help in some ways, but was worried the techniques they use would induce my vertigo. That happened the last time I went to balance therapy.

He is going to find some exercises that may help. Meanwhile he tortured my shoulder with a good workout.

Able to sleep half the night in my bed again, then shifted to recliner.

Very worn out this afternoon, so after filling bird feeders I was a couch potato.

Still only sleeping in my bed about half the night but that’s progress and soon I’ll be sleeping in it all night.

He found tons of mold under the tub. Rotted wood, etc. It was a mess.

It's all torn out and the bathroom is sealed off for the night. Now I have to tackle the reactions to the new stuff. I think he will use some kind of "guard" stuff too that may be scary.

He forgot to bring the air scrubber so now it's dusty with sheetrock.

I can still smell mold from the AC. What battle.

I was out most of the day but we are sleeping here tonight.

Friday morning we will leave for a road trip for hubby's other show. It will be about 4 hours away .. east... You get my drift! [Smile]

Hi everyone! Did my home PT and arm routine then took off around 10:30 for our lunch and antique shopping expedition. I did buy a funny BDay card for my neice, a snazzy cup and saucer for the Tea and Symphony series in May and 2 small, unique clear glass cups with black plastic handles.

We got home around 6:00 and I had to put the hoses and sprinklers back in the front lawn and water the plants. Our yard folks came today so I remove the sprinklers and hoses every time.

Hiker my Mom's back was hurting when we got home so she overdid it. I love taking her and her friends places. I always manage to have a great time. I know you're happy to be able to sleep in the bed again. I remember when I had surgery and slept elevated it killed my hips.

TuTu I'm so glad they found the mold and fixed the problem! I think mold is one of my triggers for MCAD. I can smell it immediately. Hope you'll be OK. Also is it getting close to OCC time again? Love that you guys do that! BTW, thought we might be heading your way again because my Aunt, who's husband passed away a couple years ago, was really ill and in ICU for 4 days or so but is recovering.

Me and Mom want to come back that way but it might be awhile because she's still in therapy and long drives might be an issue.

Well, I guess I better try and get some sleep. Night all!

Ak--We are on the same wavelength. I went birthday card shopping today.

Tutu--hope you are feeling okay and that they finish your bathroom quickly.

Did my shoulder exercises.

Ran errands--for birthday cards, to the library, and went grocery shopping.

Had an appointment with the surgeon. He was pleased with my progress but said I had a long way to go.

Looked at my painful knee and said it is probably arthritis, but he wants to get the shoulder totally fixed first before even considering the knee. He decided a x-ray wasn't even worth it today.

Then went to eye doctor to get my new lenses put in my old frames. Forgot how blurry everything will be until my eyes adjust.

Anyway, it's only midafternoon and I am totally wiped out. So, no walking in the neighborhood today.

Thanks...gotta get to bed.

We are still waiting on the shower and the bathroom is sealed off. I can't imagine how bad it is in there.

Please pray that the shower comes tomorrow!!

Not feeling well right now .. Gotta get up and travel Friday morning and Sat .. home by Sat night.

We started on our OCC inventory on Tuesday!!

love you all !!

Or y'all ... lol

Hi everyone! Did my home PT and then took Mom to her PT appointment. Afterwards we took her car in for an oil change.

At PT I found out my Mom fell yesterday and she didn't tell anyone! She lost her balance in the bathroom at one of the antique shops, hit the wall and thankfully landed on the toilet instead of the floor. I'm upset she didn't tell me. Now I know why her back was hurting so bad yesterday! They checked her over and outside of bruises she's doing better today.

So once we got home she rested and I went outside to work. I put the 4 solar motion detector lights up and forgot to activate them so will do that another day. Also picked up twigs and small limbs in the yard so was out there at least 3 hours.

So that's my exercise for today!

Hiker you can't catch a break can you? I hope and pray your knee is OK! You're recovering so well with your shoulder surgery! I'm so relieved! I was thinking about getting another pair of glasses also. I love my glasses but would like to have some black or dark frames just to have a change with my other ones.

Well guys, I'm wiped out and heading for bed. Night all!

[sleepy]

Tutu--Hope you feel better and travel goes well. Maybe when you get back you will have a new bathroom.

Ak--Sorry to hear about your mom's fall. Glad it wasn't worse. She sounds like my parents who wouldn't tell me something like that.

Seems like your home will be safe and secure and well lighted thanks to your handy skills! [Big Grin]

Am still getting used to my new lenses. Can't afford to get new frames with new lenses although I would love to have 2 pairs of glasses.

PT worked me very hard today. Said he was proud that I work hard and stick with it. Still a long way to go, but his encouragement helps.

Tried to walk a bit this morning. Only got about 10 minutes in when I ran into a neighbor and we yakked too long and I had to rush to get to therapy.

I think I will ask the neurologist next week to send me to balance therapy once I have made more progress with the shoulder. I have lost so much balance and leg strength in the last 6 months.

By the time I am ready, I will have spent my out of pocket insurance and it will be very cheap.

Meanwhile I need to get motivated to so some of the balance exercises at home that I did years ago at therapy.

Stopped by church to put in my offering and sit in God's calm. I haven't been going on Sundays as the stimuli is bothering me again.

My BFF is coming over tonight. She is in physical therapy for her elbow, so we are celebrating our hard work with Chipotle tonight. Buy one burrito bowl and get one free (thanks to the library reading program I finished)

Have a great evening! [Cool]

Did my home PT for my neck and SI joint. Went and got my usual super short haircut and................hit the gym finally! Yay!

Walked for about 21 minutes and did a slow jog for 9 minutes. Not so bad since I haven't been on the treadmill all month. The sauna wasn't working today so I was totally bummed about that.

Rushed home and me and Mom went grocery shopping then after putting everything away we went to visit her BFF and her daughter, who is a friend of mine.

Went we got home I took the motion detector solar lights down and pushed the on button and put them back up. Only took about 10 minutes and they work great!

I'm going to be ordering some solar flood lights that stay on for about 12 hours and put those up also.

Watered the back lawn and called it a day!

Hiker I love the buy one get one free deals! Almost impossible to resist! Hoping the stimuli issue ends soon. Also thanks for posting about your walking because it got me back to the gym.

See you all tomorrow!

Ak--Impressed with your treadmill time. I can't even use a treadmill. I went flying off once and am not brave enough to get back on. LOL

Did my shoulder exercises.

Pulled out my balance exercises from 6 years ago and had a go at them. Oh my! I can't do very many of them. Some issues are due to balance and some are due to lack of leg strength. Wil be sore tomorrow.

It amazes me how long it took to get my leg strength up and balance good before I could walk well 6 years ago and how fast I have lost that ability in the last 6 months.

But that sure explains why I am struggling so much to walk. Will work on those and then try to walk regularly when I am a bit stronger.

Friends came over to help me water. Drought here now after all the rain in May and June.

Did quite a bit of cooking to freeze for later.

Home PT and arm routine then ran some errands and am taking it easy today.

Hiker I always look for the emergency stop button and cord on the treadmill just in case I trip over my own feet. Josh calls me 'accident prone auntie ' for good reason. Oh and I was going to use the zucchini bread recipe today but decided to veg. I'm grilling hotdogs and hamburgers for the entire family minus one tomorrow and I hope to spiralize and grate my zucchini too.

Well....off to continue vegging out!
