Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms here on the exercise thread!

Even though I don't have kids, I have a nephew that's treating me and my Mom to Outback takeout!

[woohoo]

So need to get back to exercising on Monday!

Anything that gets you out of the recliner or off the couch please post it here. Whether it's running, walking, weight training, kayaking, laundry, dishes, house work, yard work, etc. just about anything counts as exercise here!

Here's to another week of encouraging one another to live as actively as possible!

[group hug]

Ak-Outback sounds good!

Yesterday I zoomed with my church for 2 hours. About 18 of us just chatted about our lives.

Today I did two loads of laundry.

Called my mom and gabbed for an hour.

I spotted 4 Baltimore Orioles this afternoon. They were not near the oranges I put out for them but at my regular feeder.

Just chilling the rest of the day. Cold and windy so not a good outside day at all.

I did my knee exercises and shoulder exercises.

I went to the ENT. My ear tube is caked with earwax, but he if removed it today he would have to put in a larger one due because I already have a hole in the eardrum.

Larger tubes have a risk of hearing loss, so even though it is bugging me I will wait until it falls out or bugs me so much I can't stand it.

It is truly a God thing that this ear tube has lasted two years.

I moved some of my bird feeders around and chatted on the phone with a friend.

Paid a few bills and wrote a letter.

The public library in the adjoining town is now going to have book pickup, so I put some books on hold and will get them later this week. Yeah!

YAY .. I finally called my computer guy to get onto this site with my computer. It kept blocking me because I have a strong security protection.

This site needs better security protection itself!! That is the problem!

AK .. That Outback sounds amazing!! Tell us what you ate!

Hiker .. I'm sorry the ear tube needs to be replaced. I hope it works its way out soon. So you won't be replacing it later?

I would love to see Baltimore orioles! One of my friends has a pond behind her house and she posts AMAZING photos of birds and other wildlife. The orioles have such a BRIGHT color!!

I am supposed to see my allergist on Thursday. I can't decide if I should go or not. I kinda need my asthma checked.

My husband and I went to church Sunday. We only had 22 people in two services, so we were able to spread out. Everyone was very careful. It was so good to be there that it almost felt surreal. I had not been there since March 8. I've NEVER gone that long without church. I love worshiping our Lord, being with friends and hearing our Pastor's sermon.

I also picked up food today and GOT MY HAIRCUT!!! It feels so much better! I posted on FB yesterday to show everyone how long it had gotten and several said NO, don't cut it.

But really .. it drives me crazy after awhile and it's going to be too hot for me. I also don't think people my age look good with long hair. It gets kinda squirrely ... lol..

It's been very cool here the past two days. I love it. My flowers and plants on the balcony love it too!! It's been in the high 30's the past two nights but everything survived just fine.

It's going to be in the 70's the next 4-5 days .. after tomorrow.

Lots of rain still coming down. I wish we could send some to Texas. They are having a drought again.

I did wash a load of clothes today. That's about all the exercise for today, aside from carrying in groceries.

See ya!

Whew! My Outback Mother's Day dinner of ribeye, baked potato and broccoli lasted me for 2 dinners. It was delicious!

So today I worked out to my 3 DVDs and did my facial exercises. Hoping to get the pelvic exercise in this evening.

Hiker thank God you're going to be able to get some books! I'm gearing up for my fencing project since the extend-a-posts came in the other day. This is just my second week of working out and I'm not as sore. Hope getting in shape will help with my outdoor projects.

TuTu you are so brave to get your haircut! Alas, I cut my own hair with Josh's clippers so now I have a lovely black and gray buzz cut! At least I'll be cool while working outdoors for the next month or two.

My job search is on hold for awhile until our death toll goes down. I think it's up to 12 in my town but over 1,000 testing positive.

So I've got 3 large outdoor projects and three 500 piece puzzles to keep me occupied for awhile.

Stay safe everyone!

Tutu--If you can get your haircut, perhaps going to the allergist would be fine. Just call ahead and ask what they are doing to keep you safe.

I did my balance exercises this morning.

I walked 25 minutes this afternoon.

Talked to a friend from Florida and she said she was not getting "chores" done during this time of being off work. So, we agreed we would each do a chore this afternoon.

I washed my sliding glass door windows to the patio and trimmed the tops of 2 bushes.

It's really too early to trim the bushes, but with all the rain predicted the rest of the week, I bet they will grow so fast I won't be able to reach the top.

Saw a female oriole today (more yellow than orange like the male has) Still hoping some hummingbirds and indigo buntings stop by.

Busy day starting off with my 3 workout DVD's. Didn't have time for my pelvic routine or my facial exercises so will squeeze them in tonight.

Contractor came out to get the info for our estimate to have the fascia board and gutters for the back and one side of our house replaced.

I also asked him to give me an estimate to replace the two moldy windows. That'll be something I have to pay for so I'm just getting an idea of how much money I need.

I'm so excited about my fence extending project! After searching at 3 stores today I found some hog fence panels that are cheap and perfect. They're 25 feet long so one of the gals is going to help me cut it into 10 feet sections so I can fit them into my tiny Scion. Wish me luck tomorrow!

Hiker way to go on the 25 and also trimming the bushes and tackling the sliding glass door. I googled the birds you mentioned and was wowed by the Indigo Bunting! Beautiful!

Off to shop online for some fence things.

So is this fence to protect you from the pit bulls next door? That would be awesome, AK!!

Hiker, ironically, one of my local friends just posted a pic of an indigo bunting. It's an amazing shot!

I worked on my hubby's closet yesterday while he was at church practicing. Took out about 15 shirts to take to consignment. Washed half of them yesterday.

Hiker .. My allergist's office called this morning and we decided to post-pone the appointment to June 29.

I have Bible study in a few minutes. We are still doing it via a conference call.

Also .. if anyone needs a new medical alert bracelet, I just got one from RoadID. It's not "pretty" but it will last forever and it's much easier to read. I was worried about my old one because the engraving was rubbing off.

Have a good day, everyone!

First, I went grocery shopping this morning. The cashier was new and I felt sorry for him. He was struggling ringing up the vegetables.

I did my knee exercises and my shoulder exercises.

I went through my winter shirts and sweaters and put them away and got out some short sleeved shirts. I am being optimistic it will warm up soon.

I have some clothes to take to the thrift shop when the thrift shop can open again.

I am slowly typing up all of my poems that have not been put on the computer. May take awhile as I have over 200.

Have a good afternoon and evening!

Let's see....did my 3 DVDs and facial exercises. Also knocked out the pelvic routine. Made brunch of gluten free waffles, bacon and eggs for me and Mom.

Went and picked up the hog fence panels. Well, they were only 16 feet so still cut them down (by myself with their cutters since they're not allowed?) so ended up buying one extra panel.

It was a trip trying to get them home in my little Scion XA. Maybe 5 feet were in the car and I tied them all down to the front seats. So 5 feet was hanging out the rear of the car tied with my bright red bandana. I had to pull my seat all the way to the front and felt like I was driving a little clown car or something! [Big Grin]

Made it home and unloaded them and put them near the fence with the pitties, so they shouldn't be able to jump it or chew it. Hope and pray it works!

TuTu you are so brave to tackle a closet! I weed out my clothes periodically but since my weight loss I don't have hardly any clothes. One less chore to do!

Hiker all of my clothes are out and I have plenty of room in my closet. It's so sad. Once I get down to my goal weight and figure out how to stay there I'll buy some much needed clothes. Typing out your poems sounds like a good quarantine project!

See you all tomorrow!

Had our first meal of asparagus tonight. It was delicious!! I cooked most of the meal for my son because he was out helping fix the mower.

He had put chicken in the oven and wanted corn & green beans. I added the asparagus to the menu.

Daughter brought a case of blueberries home from work. She said they were so good, she ate a whole pint at work today. They are good! And organic!!

Working at getting the quilt we quilted this winter ready for the binding on the edges. I think I'll machine stitch the binding, even if its not the traditional way.

Called the butcher - its time to send the heifers out to turn into beef. We raised 2 of them. The children are tired of carrying water for them.

Also called a neighbor to see if we can borrow his trailer to haul the heifers to the butcher. Hopefully they will be easy to load. They are fairly tame and are used to us bringing their grain in a bucket.

They come running to quick eat any snacks we give them before the goats can eat them. The goats need to duck around and grab a mouthful or two.

If we need to we'll take a bucket of grain into the trailer & they should follow right after. Last fall they escaped the meadow & ran over the fields and into the development. We led them home with a bucket of grain. Thankfully!

I had my group Bible study today via zoom.

I did my balance exercises and then I went for a walk.

I made blueberry muffins. Sadly not organic blueberries but a pint was only 99 cents.

I went to the public library in the adjacent town to pick up a book on hold. I had to wait about 20 minutes in my car. You put your name on a card on your windshield and they go and get the book and set it on the table outside and then you get out of your car and grab it. I only had one book to get but I have several more on hold.

ManmaMe—I think I would have a hard time taking those heifers to be butchered especially if they come when you have a pail of grain for them. I know it’s just the way of a farm, though.

We had thunderstorms this morning and probably more rolling in tonight but I was glad the afternoon was free of rain. Very humid out.

That's interesting about the library, Hiker. I don't know how they are doing it here. Probably open as usual.

I went to visit my teaching partner from church this morning. She has a screened in porch and we were able to sit apart. Both of us have been pretty isolated, so we both felt safe.

Her porch was awesome. We saw a red-headed woodpecker about 20 ft away! There were also cardinals, blue jays, geese, and a hummingbird.

We had a great visit.

Then I took some clothes to the consignment shop and then to Home Depot to pick up some potting soil curbside.

I made King Ranch Chicken this afternoon and then potted some plants in the early evening. OH .. forgot to say that I went to Lowe's and got some zinnias. (I was outside and I had a mask)

Storms tonight .. hope everyone stays safe!

Did my 3 DVDs, facial exercises and pelvic routine. Picked up stuff for my fence project. Went grocery shopping with Josh and then....

He helped me complete my fence project today! So for about $300 and 3 hours of work the next door neighbor's pitties can no longer jump the fence. Yay!

I bought post extenders from Amazon for about $150 and bought three 16 ft. hog panels for $25 a piece and some fencing clamps and misc. stuff.

So glad that Josh helped because what I thought was a one person job turned into an OMG I can't lift the panel in place and attach it to the post by myself job.

So I'm wiped out but so relieved that the pittie situation is a thing of the past now.

Manna your dinner sounds delicious! We picked up a pizza after finishing up outside around 7:30. I'm going to be sore tomorrow. I miss picking berries in AK. I used to pick wild cranberries and blueberries. I'd always eat more than I picked. Good luck with those heifers!

Hiker are you using Zoom on your phone or laptop? I have the app on my phone but haven't used it yet. Any extra muffins? Send some my way please!

TuTu you've been busy today too! How nice that you were able to visit a friend! I've talked with neighbors and I've been to Josh's but I still wear a mask until we're at least 6 feet apart. Me and my Mom love hummingbirds! I've got some plants on the porch that are supposed to attract them but so far they're not blooming.

Well gang, I'm exhausted and am heading for bed. See everyone tomorrow!

Ak--Glad Josh could help you build that fence higher. Hoping pitbull problem is solved.

I did my knee and shoulder exercises.

Saw my red headed woodpecker again. Love watching him. Had a Baltimore Oriole drink from my hummingbird feeder. Still no hummingbirds, though.

I walked for about 30 minutes after the rain stopped.

Came home from walk to find two bags of Doritos on my doorstep from a friend. As if I need these. [bonk] May give one bag away.

Going to go work on my Bible study and then read this evening and try to stay out of the Dorito bag. [Big Grin]

Doritos .. oh yes...sigh.!!

Those red-headed woodpeckers are so huge!

AK .. sure hope that fence at least makes them think twice about things. Good job on getting it all done. Looked like a pretty big project!!

I didn't do much today. Very rainy and gloomy outside so we stayed in. By the way, I was very happy yesterday that my husband took his first motorcycle ride in two months.

I watched HGTV most of the day. I think it was "My Hometown"...Tonight is the "My Lottery Dream Home." I love that one too.

Manna .. What are you currently making?

OH wait .. I did do something constructive. I made some special jello for us. I modified an old recipe.

Have a great evening, everyone!!

Even though I was tired and still am I managed to workout to my 3 DVDs, facial exercises and my pelvic routine.

Made brunch for me and Mom and then headed to the hardware store for some aluminum chain link fence ties to shore up the zip ties that I used yesterday.

Hiker sounds like you had a great day and way to go on all the exercise! Better watch out, those Doritos sound like they're out to get you!

TuTu the fence project was to much for just myself and am so glad that Josh helped me. My next project is to fix the erosion problem in our yard as cheaply as possible. Jello sounds great! We had leftovers tonight and I'm glad I didn't have to cook dinner.

See everyone tomorrow!

Daughter & I went shopping after lunch. The fabric store is finally open again.... I miscalculated on the fabric needed for the binding on the comfort I made. Was planning to get the blue & white plaid and cut it on the bias to make a pretty binding.

The blue plaid was no longer there! So I got white to use instead. Also picked up a few more fleece pieces out of the bin - its only $2. a yard from the bin instead of the $3.99 & up on the bolt.

Also got 3 pieces for dresses for myself for this summer. Can't wait to start on them.

Need to go cut the asparagus again tomorrow - the second time. Fresh asparagus is SOOO good!

Did some more shopping this evening - took the boys along for shoes and a few other things they needed. Not the same as shopping with girls!

Carried the potted plants from the basement outside this afternoon just before it rained. They were in need of water. Not sure they are all going to survive.

MaanaMe--I love asparagus and had it for lunch with my salmon. Not fresh, though, like yours.

I did my balance exercises.

I went for a short walk. Very humid out.

I sprayed my yardwork clothes--shorts, t-shirts, socks, shoes, cap and gloves with permethrin. I need to go get them inside before it rains.

I have a church meeting at 3:00 via zoom--just a chance to chat.

The humidity is going to be murder here once the heat comes in. It's going to be dry next week (WHAT>????) . so I'm sure it will be humid too.

Rained all day. More tonight.

I took a bunch of my clothes in today!! Took some to consignment and the rest to a thrift shop. Now I can actually get all of my clothes into my closet!!

It's small .. only about 6 feet wide. That's it! I feel so much better because I always had clothes hanging on my closet door, etc. Now it all fits and I can get things out of the closet easily. How long will that last?? [Big Grin]

Now I need to work on my jewelry stuff. My Etsy business has been on "vacation" for more than a year now. I need to decide how much stuff to keep. I doubt I'll ever do very much with what I currently have.

Today I did 3 loads of laundry and made an apple salad and a veggie salad. Now I have my Mom sorting through the puzzle pieces for the edges. She loves to find them for me.

So the plan is to have leftovers and work on a puzzle.

Manna I've always wanted to plant an asparagus bed. It's on my list of things to do for my backyard project.

Hiker I love asparagus too! How do you cook yours? I usually just stir fry mine.

TuTu ever since you mentioned Etsy I've been ogling and buying things from their website. I love them!

OK gang...it's puzzle time!

Random fact .. I grew broccoli once. (maybe twice)

My claim to fame!!

Did the laundry today - beautiful sunny day. Had all the washlines full. Brought some in to hang the last out.

Washed some flannel sheets and blankets = that filled the lines up fast! Warm enough now to put them away till fall.

I like to cook the asparagus just until tender and then pour some browned butter on top. Yummy!

Ak, an asparagus patch is so nice. There is nothing like fresh picked asparagus! I do blanch & freeze the extra from my garden, but it doesn't have the same fresh flavor.

I was hoping to sew today, but didn't even turn my sewing machine on........ maybe I can get to it on Monday.

I'm tired tonight and ready for a day of rest tomorrow.

Lymetoo, how did your Etsy store do? What all did you sell? I'm planning to open one to sell my fleece blankets and other sewing projects.
