The week has officially begun!!

-------------

Manna.... My Etsy store was for selling angel pins and earrings. I had it for about 8-9 years. My sales volume was never spectacular on Etsy.

There are many pieces I can no longer obtain for the angels, so I've pretty much given it up. I began making jewelry when I had to quit teaching in 1994. (I actually began with beading.)

The angel craze hit the next year and I began making a lot of them. I guess I've sold thousands over the years.

We used to do craft shows in Houston and San Antonio. I even had a big show in the Astrohall the summer we moved to MO.

It's hard to make them now since I have MCS. The glue is killer stuff. (E-6000) .. I have to make my angels on the balcony and that's not a great place to do any amount of work. The wind can blow things around too. Not fun to work around.

I would love to find another craft I could do.

I bought an angel Tutu made and have it to my SIL. She loves it!

Our little church had a zoom service this morning. Yesterday we met to talk about how to approach reopening. Lots to consider and it will be awhile before we can meet as a congregation unless we have a service outside.

I did 2 loads of laundry and finished going through my clothes and set aside some to donate to the thrift store whenever it reopens.

Now that I have retired I find myself wearing mainly T-shirts and jeans or T-shirts and shorts. So, I am slowly getting rid of my “work clothes.”

Raining here today so a good day to rest my body.

Time to call my mom and then read.

Have a great week. 😃

Thanks TuTu for starting the thread this week! I have problems with glue too. My Mom used ModPodge glue on my puzzles and she had to apply it outside.

Hiker it was rainy here too. I didn't do much today. Whipped up a green bean casserole, thawed out some roast brisket and had the salad I made yesterday for dinner tonight. Josh raved about the green bean casserole.

Finished a 500 piece puzzle today and will take it apart and put it back in the box for another day. Watched the movie 'The Notebook ' with Mom so had a very relaxing day.

See everyone tomorrow!

Rained here all day and still raining. Must have about 5 inches by now since yesterday.

I did my knee and shoulder exercises.

Cooked some pork and will make a salad tonight that has spinach, romaine lettuce, strawberries, broccoli and bits of pork with caeser dressing.

Spent a lot of time researching laptops. Waiting for a good sale, though.

Am waiting for rain to ease up to take out garbage and recycling. If I don't get to the recycling center my neighbor always has room in his bin at the curb.

Since it's Monday I did my 3 DVD's, facial exercises and pelvic routine. Went to the post office and the grocery store and watched the rain.

Hiker that salad sounds delicious! I ate all the leftover salad (a ton) for a late lunch and will have the roast brisket maybe later. I've gained some weight and wish I could say it's all muscle.

Today is our garbage day too and have just our usual one can to take to the curb. I don't think they've started picking up recycling yet.

See everyone tomorrow!

Hiker .. I saw the swirling of the rain clouds sitting right over you this evening. Believe me, I know the feeling. We are so water-logged here.

The next 4 days are mostly dry, then back to rain again. I'm hoping it won't be as much this time.

I took more stuff to the consignment shop (things I forgot the other day) and more to the thrift shop. I felt SO FREE after that!!

It has taken me almost two years to get back to everything being where it should be after all that turmoil from the flooded upstairs (Aug 2018) and the mold afterward. UGH...

It looks great in here now and I'm still working on it. Still organizing closets and getting rid of things we don't need.

I also got two more pots and I'm going to plant morning glory seeds in one of them. I have a trellis (sort of) they can climb on.

I ordered a table for our entryway so my husband can put his stuff there instead of on the bar by the door. (his wallet, etc)

I bought some artificial dark red roses and a ceramic planter to place there. I think I'll take it to a floral shop for them to create a little magic for me.

Our friends are coming over tomorrow for dinner. We have not had dinner together since I don't know when?! December? We are also going to play games.

She's already had COVID and her husband and daughter were exposed then. It's been two months ago that she got it. (..exactly two months today, as a matter of fact!!)

I promised her a cherry cheesecake in celebration of her defeating COVID!

See ya tomorrow!

Ha! I did the same exercises and errands that I did yesterday except my Mom came along for the drive. She stayed in the car when I ran into the grocery store.

Now I'm just vegging.

TuTu you're getting so much done around your place! One day I'd like to go through my things that are still packed up and in the shed from when I moved in August 2015. Some of my kitchen stuff I'd like to use if I can find them. Hope you all have a good time getting together!

See you all tomorrow!

I did my balance exercises.

Finished up my Bible study on Leviticus for Thursday's meeting.

Met a landscaper to talk about pulling out bushes and putting in new plants in front of my house. I also had him look at my vegetable garden plot which is getting some shade. He suggested planting some blueberries and in the sunny spots, strawberries.

I will have to see what he recommends for the front of the house and the price.

Wasted more time perusing internet looking for the perfect laptop. Can't find one I like. Either it is too heavy or short battery life or it is light but doesn't have many ports I am way behind on the new terminology, too.

Tutu--Glad you could meet your friend and cheesecake sounds great!

I went grocery shopping. Grocery prices have gone up and fewer sales! A shopper at grocery store asked why I seemed to be staring at her. Well, she was touching every bell pepper in the produce section and not wearing her mask as is required. She wasn't too pleased when I pointed that out.

I did my knee exercises and shoulder exercises.

I ordered some marigolds from a local plant nursery and picked them up. Think I will plant them tomorrow when it is a bit warmer.

Normally I like to peruse all the plants and flowers, but am still not comfortable mingling where there are a lot of people--even with a mask on.

I spent some time straightening out orders from Amazon. They have messed up two lately.

Paid some bills.

I put some more books on hold at the library. I have a gadzillion books on hold between 2 libraries. Once library is still closed and the other only open to pick up holds. I will go get the one hold that has come in tomorrow. They only allow pickup on T, Th, and Sat for 3 hours.

Off to grill some lamb patties and steam zucchini plus make a salad.

Have a good evening. [Smile]

Trouble sleeping caused by my bad shoulder so around 6:00 this morning took a pain pill, muscle relaxer and half a sleeping pill. Rose from the medicated dead about 11:30.

After fortifying myself with much coffee and a chicken salad and tomato lunch decided to not cut myself any slack and workout.

Felt much better after doing my usual 3 workout DVDs, facial exercises and pelvic routine. My Mom cooked dinner of rice, stir-fried tofu and sauteed eggplant with miso. Everything was delicious!

Hiker it was exciting to read about your ideas for your yard. I bought quite a few gently used gardening books over the years to get ideas on how to do landscaping. Also might chat with my local co-op extension office to get their take on ideas to help stop the erosion in my yard. I've always wanted to do a Japanese style type area in the backyard here at my Mom's. My chain link fence cover that I bought from Amazon is going to help tremendously with the overall look of that area.

Well....off to veg and read a scary thriller that I downloaded last night.

See you all tomorrow!

Hey gang.... We had a good time last night eating steak, beans and corn. (I just cooked what was available!!) It will probably be the last steak we buy for awhile. Got it at the regular price.

We also had cherry cheesecake, of course! We played SkipBo until about 11:30 pm and really enjoyed ourselves.

Today I made another pie because the first one was decimated. [Big Grin]

The console table I ordered on Saturday came in this afternoon. Now the challenge is putting it together. Oh boy.

The weather is nice, according to ME. It's in the 60's .. mostly cloudy, but I don't really care. I think tomorrow will be sunny, then more rain on the way.

Hiker .. You have lots of reading to do!! I hope your landscaping ideas will save you a lot of upkeep. That would be great!

AK .. That Japanese Garden sounds great .. and like a lot of work. Don't overdo!

Way overdid it today.

Had Bible study via Zoom.

Did my balance exercises.

Planted 30 marigolds in my flower beds. Then my neighbor gave me some petunias, impatiens and a few other flowers so I planted 4 pots.

Trimmed a few bushes and hoed weeds.

Went to library to pick up the book they came in. They do a nice job of getting cars lined up and the book out to you.

Time for dinner and rest and will be icing bad shoulder.

Ugh! Couple hours of sleep so up at 4:30. Did all of my workout routines after downing 4 cups of coffee. Termite guys showed up at 8:15 to let me know they would come back at 11:00 to pretreat. Grrr! That's why I stayed up!

Went to Josh's and we picked up some tacos at a drive thru and ate at the outdoor tables and braved Sam's. Thankfully we weren't there long. Just got home and I'm wiped out!

TuTu your evening with friends sounded awesome! I'm going to be dreaming about that cheesecake!

Hiker! OMG! Sounds like you overdid it! Hope the shoulder is OK.

I'm about to fall asleep so goodnight friends!

Cut out a dress and sewed a dress today. All it needs yet is the hem put in.

Got some trees from Arbor day foundation. Planted them in pots until we decide where to plant them.

Need to clean out the freezers and organize them to be ready for the beef.

Omg I cant believe I got on. I’m trying to get awsy from google. All this online stuff is making me crazy. I’m sitting in car in air Conditioning. It says it’s 101 out and I’m in shade. Way too many tourists to go anywhere and Etta is stir crazy so she used up energy watching birds and now she’s sleeping. Earlier I sat in carport where it was shady and she explored a little on leash but it got too hot. I think she’s depressed and misses beach.

I have made some progress getting house back together since kitchen reno. It’s easier to take care of us now. I’m in Wc more. I’ve noticed my general pain level is down. Not sure why. Fatigue is up I think I’m in a new stage of getting old

This week I managed to buy some potting soil and a few veggies. I don’t usually do them now. Woodchucks or moths or grubs usually total them. But when they said they didn’t plan to open beaches I thought It would give me something to do.

I have one green pepper one tomato. 6 cukes. 6 summer squash and 5 packs of seeds. I’m used to planting peas st paddy’s day but here they don’t plant anything til Memorial Day so we will see

I wish I could still sew. Manna and Joann both so right? When I moms old singer got rusty I bought a new machine but never could make it work. I wish I could make simple things. My clothes are very ragged now. I have a real hard time buying new.

Well hope everyone keeps doing good. Wishing all continued immunity!

This morning I met someone from the city to look over and discuss options for the erosion problem in the yard. He told me it's from surface water and gave me some great inexpensive ways to address the issue. So I'm going to try either landscaping timber or railroad ties to slow the water and possibly plant low growing ground cover or sod. Hoping that'll solve the problem because it's a lot less work and money than the trench or drain that I was considering.

Afterwards I did my 3 workout DVDs, facial exercises and pelvic routine. Also managed to trim some bushes before the rain started. Had planned on putting my fence cover on that arrived today from Amazon but got rained out.

Manna congrats on sewing a dress today! My dress pattern is still in the other room on the bed. I look at it everyday so I probably need to put it away until I get my outdoor projects done.

Hi Kayak! Long time no see! How exciting that you're growing some veggies this year! I've been eyeing a waist high planter that's kinda on the small side for about $100 at Home Depot and would love to try to grow some type of veggie.

Well....guess I'm going to veg for the rest of the day since it's too wet outside to do anything.

See you all tomorrow!

Beautiful day here.

I did my knee exercises and my shoulder exercises.

I tore my favorite pair of jeans in the rear end, so I sewed a patch on. Looks hilarious but they are so comfy.

I set up my new iPad and played a bit with it.

Watered my new plantings and filled the bird feeders. Saw indigo buntings and eastern kingbirds today.

My BFF came over and we sat on the patio sipping socially distant sangria. Toasted the end to her school year. She is a science teacher. I have not seen her since March.

Relaxing this evening

Cut out 3 dresses for my daughter today. Have one half sewed together... will possibly go work at it a little more before bedtime.

It rained most of the day. Some of the trays of potted planted we set outside yesterday had water setting in them. Tilted them to drain the excess water off.

Ran out to CVS to pick up prune juice for hubby. They had some plants setting there right in the path way to the checkout.... Somehow the Money Tree came along home with me! Never saw one before.

My daughter was along and she picked out a cute little cactus for herself. She likes the succulents and cacti. She only went along to buy some jelly beans.......

Kayak, good to 'see' you again. Have fun with your garden!

Glad you could get on here, LP!! I do hope they open the beaches there soon. I can't imagine their being closed all summer.

The vegetables sound good!

AK .. The landscaping plan sounds like it will really help. Always great to get an expert's opinion.

You are inspiring me to move more. Not sure how well my body will cooperate.

Hiker .. maybe you will learn to sew after all! If I keep cleaning things out here, I may decide to buy a sewing machine. Still thinking on it.

Manna .. glad you could plant some trees for Arbor Day.

I tried to put my new console together, but the screws wouldn't go in. I contacted them and they think it's a manufacturing flaw.

GRRR...so they will deliver another one and pick up the faulty one next week. The hard part is getting it all back into the box. Joy.

It rained all day again (and last night too). We have had more than 30 inches of rain this spring. The annual average is 45 inches. Sheesh. I think we will have flooding very soon. (We are fine where we are.)

I baked some GF banana bread today. Yummy.

This weekend it will be hot today. We have been so spoiled by temps in the 60's lately. Then next week it will be in the 70's.

Have a good evening, everyone! [hi]

lp--Sounds like you will have a good vegetable garden. Let me know when the veggies are ripe!

Manna--What kind of trees did you plant? Like your daughter, I love cacti. I lived in Arizona as a kid.

Ak--Ground cover sounds like a cheap easy way to prevent erosion. Just don't use Kudzu!

Tutu--Would love your GF banana bread recipe.

Feels like summer here--hot and humid and under a tornado watch. In the mid80's and the whole week is supposed to be like this or warmer.

I made spaghetti sauce and froze most of it.

I did my balance exercises and then went for a walk. I broke down and turned on my AC due to the humidity when I got home.

Repaired a hole in my favorite summer pj's.

Did 2 loads of laundry. Washed the winter bedspread, and stored it. I put a quilt my grandmother made onto the bed. It is over 100 years old but I figure I might as well use it.

Figure I will read this afternoon and maybe watch a chick flick on TV tonight. For those of you who get CBS, Titanic is on tomorrow night at 7 CST.

The trees are dog wood, crape myrtle, hawthorn, red bud, and crab apple.

Did a couple loads of laundry today after it stopped raining. Its been rather cloudy with the sun peeking through sometimes.

Cut out another dress for myself. Used a new skirt pattern so it took some figuring out to get everything cut out. Did get one dress almost finished.

Picked the asparagus again and brought a big handful of tea along in. Have it steeping in hot water. Nothing tastes as good as fresh mint tea. I picked a blend of peppermint, applemint and spearmint.

Weekends I don't workout so instead I did yard work for about 5 hours or so. Trimmed the bottom of bushes, raked, pruned neighbor's trees that were hanging over our fence. Weeded and dug along the fence where I put the hog panels. I ran out of steam and didn't put up my fence cover so will get to that next week.

Needless to say, I can hardly move now and I'm super sore. Already showered and medicated and heading for the bed.

Hiker we're on the same page again. I talked with a friend of mine and we're thinking about getting together and sitting outside at her place. That's awesome that you have a quilt that your grandmother made. I don't think anyone does quilting in my family but we do have some crocheters. Oh and laughed when you mentioned Kudzu!

Manna had to google Moneytree and they're so unique! I like the way to trunk twists! Way to go on the sewing project!

TuTu I started working out again as soon as Josh mentioned that I'm his inspiration. So I had to get off the couch and start moving. Also don't you hate that when you buy something and it's either missing a part or something else is wrong. I know when I have a project I like to just get it done!

OK gang, time for me to hobble to the bedroom! Night everyone!

[sleepy]
