Hello Lymies,
To put this poll back to the top.
Nic started with antibiotics almost two years ago. First he got a IV treatment for two or three weeks, I don't know axectly what it was. This makes him feel better for two days after it was finished.
Not so long after that, his family doctor gives him doxycyclin 200 for three months, this didn't work a lot, but the symptoms didn't get worser either.
Now he is on co-trimoxazol forte, 960mg, twice a day.He just uses it for two days now, so it's to early to say anything about it.

It never was so dark, or it will be light.

Hi,

As I have finally only just started my antibiotics, Doxy, one week ago, and am about to add Levaquin - I was interested in this and would like to bring it back to the top for other to add to or read.

DLL

One week Doxy, no problems except a bit of nausea. Feel pretty good, hard to tell if from the Doxy or my natural temporary improvements (usually followed by worsening again).

I also noticed that a lot of the names on this poll don't seem to post here anymore - did they get well??? I hope so.

Antibiotics used/Results
SPECTACULAR:
VERY GOOD: Minocycline (w/Plaquenil).
USEFUL: Amoxicillin. Mepron (not an abx though).

Charlie, good idea to push this up.

It's been a while since I've updated. Not much has changed except that I continue to be pretty well and, it seems to me, still making GRADUAL improvement.

For example, I've pretty much stopped having herx weeks. I ran out of Detox Tea and haven't bought more. I went to see my doctor and didn't have a list of concerns. Perhaps most important to me is that I seem to be continuing to have cognitive improvememnts twenty-seven months into treatment.

Since I've only been on Bicillin and a macrolide,I can't offer any comparisons. However, other than taking medicine, I feel pretty normal. Over the last year I have been building a house and did the roof, wiring, plumbing, siding, exterior trim, and floor finishing myself. Drywall finishing, painting, and tiling remain to be done.

To put this in perspective, when I started teatment, I couldn't turn door handle and was writing down where I had left my car so I could find it again.

So, I think the Bicillin/macrolide (Bicillin LA 12.MU three times a week, Biaxin 500 mg. twice a day) combo is great if you are able to handle the needles and exercise patience.

David

I was wondering if everyone could list the doses they took/are taking for their most effective med combos.

Dose makes a big difference ... it's not just which abx you take, but how much. So that would be really helpful for the rest of us to know. Thanks!

I don't really know if I have the artritis or neuro kind of Lyme.

As for antibiotics I've only had two weeks of 200mg doxy. It's been a couple of years but as I recall it didn't do anything. My fever and EM were already gone and I don't think I noticed a difference in my symptoms. They vary by the week anyway so I wouldn't know.

Other precsriptions I've had for Lyme (before or after they knew it was Lyme):

morphine, codeine, prozac, prednison, valium, aspirine, naproxen and some other pain killers and antidepressants, don't remember all the names. Also of course cream for the EM - and the advise to rub peppers on my fingers, because obviously noone gets weird spots like that without inflicting them on purpose on them selves

Alternative dr.s have given me (among other things) salt tablets, fish oil, spirulina (or something like that) and, yes really, pills that are supposed to treat ebola virus. According to the homeopath I had ebola virus. I haven't taken them as I think it's pure rubbish to suggest someone who's never been outside europe would have ebola, let alone have it for years and not die. I still have them, great party trick to show pills that say "ebola virus" on the package.

Hi jewel,
Sorry, I don't know.

I have a suggestion though. Start a new topic with this information in it.

That way you can put a title in so people will see it and answer. You can also check the box for email responses at the bottom of the posting form.

Then you'll be notified when people respond. (If you want to be.)
