For one's spouse or children or relatives, how about:

DH - dear husband
DW - dear wife
DS - dear son
DD - dear daughter
MIL - mother in law (ha ha, no dear there!)
FIL - father in law (ok, maybe DFIL)

Then you can say, I'm driving my DH crazy when I hang from the rafters, or some such stuff.

Feel better, everyone!
Your DF (dear friend!)

hey, thanks everyone—very helpful.

(i tried for a few minutes to come up with a acronym myself but couldn't, and i have to go finish an insurance appeal letter instead of trying longer.... well, ok, i admit it, i DID come up with a couple decidedly uncute and COMPLETELY unprintable ones for our so-called insurance company, but i'll spare you!)

I've been surfing this site for a few weeks, and just found this page. Incredibly helpful, and looks like it has been a while since it surfaced. This was incredibly helpful as a newbie. I didn't see it on the "welcome to lymenet" links. Of course it might have been there and I totally missed it. Anything new to add?

This newbie offers apologies for caps-I never knew it meant screaming your message.

Darn-it felt so good-for emphasis-you know.

Oh well-Takes a while to figure it all out.

Choc.

Choc.....no need to apologize, most of us DO use all caps to emphasis.

But, WHEN YOU HIT YOUR ALL CAPS LIKE MY EX DOES IT DOES FEEL LIKE YOU ARE BEING YELLED AT.

See the difference?

To the top, and mom, I think you need to re-read this page! ~LOL!~

Thank you all for putting this together & raising it up to the top; I'd like to suggest weekly instead of monthly since this is such an active board.

Visited the other sites shown as well...well done everyone! My hats off to you. Betty G, Iowa
