Hi everyone,

Ok this is my situation. Been sick since December of last year. Diagnosed in July but didnt start treatment until Sept 20th..so its only been about a month of abx.

My main symptoms are

-Dizziness
-Tinnitus
-Head Pressure and frontal headaches
-Vision issues..like everything is foggy and I feel like everything is fake

burning sensations of skin
sore feet

Now we only have one LLMD in Ontario and I just dont know how "smart" he is when it comes to lyme and co's.

I am currently on Zithromax and Flagyl (500mg Zith and 1000mg of Flagyl per day every day)

He had given me the option of going on IV but I just dont know what to do. I am scared of the herxes I might have on IV and I am alone all day.

Should I wait and take orals longer before thinking I need to be on IV?

I had the Bartonella test done and it came back negative but do my symptoms sound like bart? Should I be pursuing treating bart?

What meds should I be on for Bartonella?

I hate having to try and figure things out for myself. I just want to get better.

For me it was hundred times more easy to take IV then oral and results are faster. If you can take some B-complex IV to ( I did not herx at all just filling better everyday).Tigecycline is one of the options it treats lyme and co infections all together.Rocephin -levaquin or (ciprofloxacin, gentamicin or amikacin ,rifampin for bartonella).Mepron-azythromycin ,malarone -azithromycin you can add artemisinin on this combinations for babesia also bactrim Ds is good.always have to take flagyl(tindamax) for cyst form of lyme is a must medicine. You have to decide what is primary to attack lyme and which co infection some people do all at once just find the best meds and supplements.
Take care

I suggest googling the Burrascano guidelines, or bartonella, to see whether you think you match the symptom list. I see just one here - the sore feet. The rest sound like Lyme. So I think you should check the whole list for bart symptoms.

For vision problems, I have been able to stop all Lyme eye symptoms by drinking mangosteen juice, an anti-inflammatory antioxidant juice.

There are lots of brands online and in health food stores. I drink the Ultra one from Trace Minerals with 70 minerals added.

If you try it, go slowly and drink water too, as it can be powerful.

Keep in mind we are all different and can respond to everything differently.

I tested negative for bartonella a few times over the last couple of years and then finally tested positive on the new Igenex bartonella FISH test a couple of months ago. You may want to try that test.

There are three of us in treatment in our house and the herxes haven't been bad. My sickest son started IV 4 weeks ago and is not herxing more than orals. He is getting better- yeah! We do herx some on artemesia but we plan for it, only take it 10 days a month and know that we have to do it to get better. We all have babesia, too.

Things are never dull. After 3 fighting Lyme, 2 are in remission. Youngest is still sick, age 22. He has new diagnosed Chiari Malformation and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome.

I would try adding a third med before I went on IV, something to go after the third form of the borrelia. Zith isn't considered a stand alone treatment, and the flagyl goes after the cyst form. Why not add something like Omnicef to get the spirochetes? Then if it doesn't work start IV??

I thought that Zith and Flagyl would be enough to kill off all 3 forms?

My doctor has prescribed Rifampin but as of right now I am too scared to take it because my god my herxes are BAD
