So glad to hear, Derek. Minimal rx's, too, that's great!

For some reason, reading through your protocol, this popped into my mind. It has some herbs that are helpful and detoxifying, as well as kill the bacteria. You might just take a look and see if it resonates with you. [Smile]

Shahbah, in case Derek doesn't get back soon ..... he was very ill and has been treating for several years. I'm so glad to hear he's been doing so much better. It explains why we're seeing less of him here. [Smile]

I was unable to walk, lost my speech, and almost died 2x.

Every Lyme sx ever documented I had at one time or another.

Six- Yeah, I don't like to come around as much when I am well, it's just too much to deal w/ a lot of days.

Once the tunnel is behind you, it's rather hard to re-enter ie (at least willingly)

Best to everyone.

Derek that is just great news.

A few really sick folks here seem to be making some real progress.

I'm happy and a bit envious, hoping for my own turnaround. I'm going better, but not anywhere close yet.

Did you find it was just a very long slog over time, trying to move forward, or did you find that a change in protocols really made you FEEL the turnaround

Congratulations. I hope it continues to 100% and stays there. i know you've fought this like a champ.

Michael-

Thanks for the kind words.

Fighting this is brutal at times and I openly admit I lost hope more than once, but still I pressed on.

I achieved remission more than once, only to relapse, but each time getting well is/was easier.

Knowing what your body responds to and/or what to add/avoid is only something learned over time.

It had been a long slog, yes, but marked w/ certain milestones/medications which have helped me turn the corner.

1- Detox. Vital. Pekana detox kit was a huge help for me and continues to be part of my daily regimen.

2- Rifampin. Amazing abx. W/ all the BLO/mystery bug speculation, it seems to really make a difference.

All of the above in my regimen has taken me 4 years and 100k of experimenting to reach.

Hang in there. Life is waiting for you.

Derek

PS- Dr H in NY marked the real turnaround for me as they have taught me so much as to what a real well rounded regimen that addressed everything should look like (metals, infections, viruses, fungi, detox, etc)

Be Well

Derek,

I just know how much excruciating hell you've been through, and it's so nice that you're not suffering horribly and on your way up.

I've been in treatment for about 20 months. I'd say the last 7 have been quite serious. That is to say, getting me on the heavy detox (pekena and others), and other supportive things--actively monitored and adjusted. I tried Rifampin. Sorry to say (for myself), I absolutely could not handle it. It's the only no-go drug I have--the only one that made me feel so bad I don't think I'd go near it again. My heart went crazy, I collapsed, ER, etc. I've had a port in for 2 months now--the orals weren't doing it for me. I have had some of my best times in few years, but it's still not enough to have a life of any kind. But enough to give me some hope. Tanking again after some good times takes a lot out of a person psychologically...trying to roll with it.

I'm with you on the money and time. You've certainly put it in.

Thanks a lot for writing, and again, I'm really happy to hear of your progress.

-Michael

!/2 cup apple cider vinegar!!!!

Did Dr. H tell you to take this much or did you decide to do this yourself? I am sure it won't hurt you but wonder if it increases the benefitl to take this much. If it is you can be sure I will try it.

No, Dr H didnt tell me to do a lot of the stuff on there, as I said, it's taken years to learn what helps for me personally.

It won't harm you, that's for sure.

I started w/ just a teaspoon and worked my way up from there. I go through a 32 oz bottle every week so It's roughly 1/4-1/2 cup daily. No exact science.

ACV is amazing, I would encourage everyone to look into it.

Best

Derek

dfj, how is the ACV helping you? Are you using it for yeast, or something else?

Hey Derek,

First, so glad to hear you're improving! Your perseverance is an inspiration, and sharing your story will help me and others.

Now, I have a couple questions about your regimen.

I developed a mold intolerance (or did I...?) See, I've tried taking apple cider vinegar (with the mother) before, and I got plain sick from it -- stomach hurt within minutes, nausea, disorientation. Did you have any kind of reaction at first that has gone away? I've been avoiding anything mold-related since last December.

Second, how did you incorporate virals into your regimen? For example, did you do it with antibiotics or without? Why kind of antivirals did you take? How long were you on it, and did you notice a difference?

Thanks Derek!
