I haven't been on here in a while but I do need some help. I recently had two molar teeth removed and a bone graft done in preperation for implants. Prior to the removal I was exceedingly tired for months. Once I was given antibiotics for the infection, I felt great! I was so happy to finally be able to function. After a second course of antibiotics prior and post surgery, I have felt terrible! I have been sleeping day and night. I have no energy and my knees are hurting again and worse than ever! I can't sleep because I am in pain all night. My Lyme had been fairly stable and I was functioning. Has anyone had any related dental experience? Thank you!

You poor thing. I don't have experiences as you have outlined. Yet it has become clear to me that I do have dental issues that need to be addressed (part of which has to do w/amalgams, etc.).
Anyway, Gigi had posted somewhere this article: http://www.tuberose.com/Root_Canals.html. It specifically talks about root canals. But, for me, it clued me in to the much bigger picture of how our health is related to our dental issues. It may not answer your questions, but who knows, maybe it will bring you one step closer.
Also, it has been said that it's VERY important to be sure to go to a biological dentist. You can find one here: http://www.iaomt.org/index.asp. I have a consult set up with someone on 12/2. Can't wait.
Wishing you well, Tammy

Terminator, I was on Clindamycin both times. It worked very well to get rid of the first serious infection. The day I stopped the second round after the surgery, I got very tired and sick. Tammy N., thank you for the info, I will read everything. I was trying to hurry to get this done so that I could concentrate on taking care of my adult kids with Lyme as well as my grandson. I didn't do my homework! Some days, you can't win :-)

The problem may not be the abx, but the surgery. Did you have any material added? Could be allergic to it.

Tonglen, I think you may have hit on it. I had bone graft material added as a first step toward implants. The antibiotic may have covered up some symptoms, like my knees (maybe worked the same as a Lyme antibiotic?) and about a week and a half later, I started feeling really bad really quickly and kept going downhill. I am afraid at this point it may be a reaction to the bone graft :-(
