I am having severe joint pain in my hip and knee joints to where I can hardly walk or get up out of a chair. I also have severe jerking when I just go to sleep? Could this be the Levaquin. I just started it 10 days ago. Thanks!

Yes I had this and stopped for 2 weeks , then resumed at 1/2 dose . This was OK for about a week when the pain with restless legs returned.
I then discontinued it.

I understand this drug can cause tendon damage.
(permanent).

could be the levaquin.

i'd let your doc know.

...it gave me some nasty pain in my hips and knees... but it was the best for my brain ((sigh)) so i was a little upset when my doc took me off it [Frown]

definitely let your doc know though, b/c Al's right about the tendon damage... don't put it off.

I would also contact. Levaquin can cause spontaneous tendon rupture. Even though it's helpful, that's not something you need to add to your medical issues!!

Been on nearly every antibiotic since 10/09

About 60% improvement. Dizziness, air hunger remain.

I got tendonitis in my left heel while taking levaquin. It took me a year to resolve. I still have some small flare ups now and then.

I would not mess around with this drug. Taking magnesium helps. I used Solaray brand magnesium chelate amino acid supplements to help get over it. They carry it at Whole Foods.
