Got no instructions on this from doc office when kit given to me, but Dr. K says stop biotin, zinc, and B6 for a week before. He is not my doctor. Not crazy about stopping these for so long. Wouldn't it make sense to test while taking them to see if they affected the testing? Aren't they the solution to the KPU problem?

Maybe someone has already posted on the subject but a search of the archives turned up a lot of non-relevant posts. Don't think the search functions likes words that are just three letters capitalized.

In his lecture, Dr K also said to be off abx, but hasn't put this in his writings.

I stayed off supplements, did the test...tho with little stress....and it was borderline.

I read of someone who tested negative, tho they fully thought they would be positive because of history etc. They retested, sending the same sample to 3 different labs on the same day. 2 came back negative and 1 was positive.

I decided to treat KPU anyway and am on month 5. I am noticing a big difference...it is like my immune system is being "switched on " at last. My Hb, Hematocrit and Lymphocytes have always been borderline low, and there has been steady improvement these past couple of months. My Hb is now 15 !!!!!! A record for me.

Thanks for the replies. I keep hearing that a lot of chronic lyme people have KPU, but reading the symptoms and having it associated with mental illness just didn't add up.

I am already taking most of the supplements used to treat it and not seeing that it makes any difference in my ability to take normal doses of meds rather than only low doses. That is the only reason I am considering yet another test.

Everthing one needs to know about KPU/HPU, scroll down to Dr. Klinghardt's lecture - on this video. Link above. Right out of the horse's mouth.

I haven't watched the video yet (2 hrs), but I will. Thanks Gigi.

I'm preparing to do the test this weekend, mailing on Monday. I knew not to take supplements. I didn't realize that applied to meds as well. I'm taking zith, and of course, probiotics. Do you think these can throw the test? If so, I guess I can stop tomorrow, then I'll have 3 days off before I start collecting urine on Sunday.

Those who are familiar, please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks,
Tammy

Shoot! I have been taking Blood Builder for low Iron. I just read the label - it has Vit C, Folate, B-12, and Iron. Since none of these items are listed as part of the KPU deficiencies, do you think it will be okay?

I feel like I can't do without this right now. I was incredibly week (beyond words) when the doc ran my bloodwork 3 weeks ago. Blood Builder has helped me feel better. I stopped for just 2 days this weekend because I had the stomach virus. I feel so sick, shakey and weak right now. I continued to stay off all supplements so I can do this test, but I restarted the Blood Builder. I am having a hard time functioning and feel like I can't go off it. Plus menses are about to start, so I feel slammed right now. Beyond depleted.

I really NEED/want to do this test asap. Thoughts?

Thanks again,
Tammy

and Full Moon!

Tammy, I would continue taking what you feel you need. You don't have to stop eating unless you eat six oysters a day which would throw your zinc measurement off because they contain a lot of it.

I would just avoid the multiple vit (if you take such a thing) for a few days when you do the collection or anything that contains what is in the CORE capsule: http://stores.homestead.com/BiopureHealingProducts/StoreFront.bok

I am sure you will be just fine. Even if the test comes out negative, I would certainly have it tested by someone who can do that reliably with energy testing.

Take care.

As always, thank you, Gigi. I checked the ingredients, and I haven't been on these specific ones for a few days. I just started collecting urine today. The lab said I can freeze my sample until I ship overnight on Monday. This is what I am going to do, so I can restart supplements tomorrow. I am crashing hard....

I want to look into the Full Moon connection. I know nothing of it.

Thank you, Tammy

It is wise to treat Parasites before/BEFORE you start KPU aka HPU.
Otherwise you are feeding the parasites!

Take care.

Are you guys testing only for KPU, or for all porphyrias?

Is Direct Health Care Access II @ www.pyroluriatesting.com good for KPU?

Gigi - Wow I didn't realize that. I have some Humaworm that I will start in the next few days.

It's all quite confusing. It seems like the worms are there in large part because of metal toxicity. And you can't properly detox the metals with KPU. It's all like a vicious circle.
