I am on diflucan for the same reason... a yeast infection. No side affects from the med itself but if you have candida (yeast it will cause a die off and herx affect same as abx.
I am still on it, one a day for as long as I take abx to control yeast and have had no more side affects from it at all

Is there anyone who just had a yeast problem and thought it was lyme?...It seems like they have such similar symptoms.

Nhlymeguy, waiting to hear back from doctor but as I posted in General all my test so far have been negative except for a positive ANA of 1:640.. She is waiting on more test results from Igenex.
Yeast and not Lyme could be.

I'm on Diflucan and Nystatin for this reason. The yeast is on my tongue, feminine areas and mostly sinuses (including ear pressure). I knew that it was yeast and not a Lyme herx because it got worse with every dose of abx. I have been a bit dizzy with Diflucan, but no herx or other side effects. However, I have found that it has not worked as well as expected -- my LLMD says that the yeast can become resistant quite rapidly.

I took diflucan for 3 months one time. It was the only medication that has ever seemed to do me any good. I was getting yeast infections and sinus infections all the time!! Every other month and they would take weeks to go away.
The three months of diflucan cleared me right up! For over a year I didn't have any sinus infections or yeast infections. However, now my PCP won't prescribe the diflucan as often because it causes liver problems (even though it didn't with me). So, now I am back to getting the yeast and sinus infections, though not as badly as before.
When I took the three months of diflucan (every day) it seemed to make me waaayyy more tired. However, that was my only side effect. And, I already have a tremendous amount of fatigue, so that was very hard for me.

Phyl,
If your Igenex tests aren't back yet, why is your doctor thinking it's not Lyme?
There is a good website called "Healing Naturally By Bee". She teaches people how to get rid of yeast with diet and supplements. A lot of people have healed that way, but I personally about starved to death on it because I'm not a vegetable lover, so it got to where I wouldn't eat rather than have to eat the stuff on the diet. But I do know lots of people who it has helped.
I'm thinking of trying it again now that I'm on these abx's.
