I'm on psychiatric medications for problems I never had prior to when I was bitten by the tick. If I can get rid of the Lyme or go in remission or whatever (still confused about that), will my brain chemistry go back to normal?
I was just wondering if maybe messed up brain chemistry will be a souvenir and I'll need medication the rest of my life.
I don't want to take a pill to be happy for the rest of my life....

I believe that you can get your brain back but it takes a long time. How long have you been treating?

It can in very severe cases or on-going chronic cases where "better" isn't entirely well.

I was just diagnosed two months ago and have been on antibiotics since. I remember having the EM rash (had no clue what it was) after camping in the year 2000.
Psychiatric symptoms started with night time hallucinations about 6 months later, and then a whole host of symptoms were added to the list and grew exponentially worse over the years.

Not sure anyone knows the answer to that for your particular case. And since you are still in the very beginning of treatment for a longstanding infection, try to think positively about the outcome. A positive attitude doesn't make you better faster, it allows you to tolerate treatment longer term.
However, some people do get significantly better, or even into remission, and the psych issues can get better too.

Believe you will get better, and you most likely will.
2 months of tx is nothing, give it 2+ years and than look to other possibilities.
