For the past week or so, the tightness in my back has been a lot worse than usual. I am also having this weird almost burning like sensation all over my back and intermittently in my abs. My skin is not hot or red though.
Has anyone ever experienced anything like this?

Do you get the burning sensation as well? I do take magnesium. The muscle tightness I haev had all along. It is just worse now, but the burning sensation all over my back and abs is freaking me out. It makes everythign so much worse! I feel like an 80 year old and I'm not even 30!

No, I don't get the burning, but I think other people here have mentioned it. I do get strange sensations sometimes, but they are more of a tingling or vibration.
Try not to freak out about it--it just makes things worse when you get stressed (I know, easier said than done).
Are you currently being treated for Lyme or co-infections?

When I had lyme, I used to feel like I had patches of sunburn that moved around all over my body. I would especially feel this burning skin sensation when laying in bed at night trying to fall asleep.
It seemed like whatever part of my body was touching the bed (where pressure was being put on the skin) would have it the worst.
The burning skin sensation is just another form of neuropathy. Just like the tingling, feeling of pins and needles, stabbing pains, etc. They are all grouped under the heading of neuropathy.
Your nerves are being attacked by lyme and that causes these false signals of various types of sensations to be sent to the brain.
As your lyme treatment kills the bacteria, the nerves will eventually return to normal and all of these neuropathies will go away.
In April it was 6 years since I completed my lyme treatment and I am still symptom free, enjoying my life. I have the same life I had before lyme disease! Praise God!

My husband has Lyme & Babesia. His nose, cheeks, elbows, knees, hands and ankles look sunburned. He says it feels like the worse sunburn you could ever get. Is this die off?

My back and abs burn soooooo bad. Some days worse than others.
Today has been oh so bad.
Feels like my back is being used as an ironing board

I get that all over too, howver what I don't undertsand, IF that was from nerves being attacked, it would not vary from day to day, I mean if today is really bad and tomorrow is better, i guess my nerves would not have regenerated in one day... Also I get this burning worse whenever i take meds, the reaction does not even take few mintues, i do not think this is from killing bacteria either as meds take at least an hour to start kicking in...

When you say nerves don't regenerate in one day, you are assuming that the lyme KILLED the nerve and it needs to regenerate. Not so.
Lyme is just attacking the nerve. When it attacks, the nerve won't work properly--it will send false signals to the brain.
The nerve is just being affected by the lyme, but it is not destroyed. Think of it like this: If I squeeze your arm, your arm is uncomfortable until I stop squeezing it. Then, within a very short time, it feels normal again.
The lyme could be "squeezing" on nerves, or "dancing" on nerves, or "plucking" on nerves, "numbing" nerves, etc. (Who knows what the medical terms would be--inflaming nerves, etc.)
I only got the sunburn feeling at night in bed. During the day, I didn't have it. But, I had the stabbing of pins and needles 24/7. But, doxy got rid of that feeling in a few days. So, you can see that there are various types of attacks on the nerves, and each causes a different type of malfunction or neuropathy.
Consider another bodily system that lyme attacks. When it attacks a woman gynecologicallly, one woman will experience heavy, frequent bleeding. Another will experience a loss of her periods all together. Another will experience irregular periods. One woman will experience enlarged or swollen breasts and milk production in her breasts, and another will experience a reduction in the size of her breasts--shrunken breasts.
So, lyme has many, many ways to attack our nerves short of totally destroying them.

Is there a rash? Is it in a straight line? Does it hurt even when taking a shower and water hits it? Could be Shingles.
