I was bitten by a cat on Saturday, took abx and went to the ER, right away.
But, it is now absolutely infected. A sixth of my arm is sunburn colored red, swollen and hot. On top of the immediate infection, which could be anything, I have a pustule blister like thing away from the teeth marks, I have no idea how it got there. But I think it could be Bartonella.
I have never tested positive for Bartonella and I never really paid attention to it even though rifampin helped me so much.
So, I know people talk about Bartonella Like Organism. But what about those that have Bartonella? Is the tick one the same as the cat scratch one?
Do I need to call my LLMD? I can't afford to get sick.
I feel like I did when I found out my SPECT scan after years of treatment was worse than the first one.
Thanks,
gambler

"Cat scratch fever" is usually caused by Bartonella Henselae.
It sounds like you need to be seen by a doctor today. Try to get in with your LLMD, PCP, or go to an urgent care center. They should start or change your antibiotics because it sounds like you've developed cellulitis.
When the cat bit you some bacteria from your skin might have gotten into the wound. So you may have a mixed infection and not just Bartonella.
