I tested for heavy metals via a provoked urine test and tested high in lead and mercury. I took Pectasol for a few months and retested. The levels went up slightly. My latest protocol has been DMSA, 100 mg twice a day, 3 days on, 4 days off, and 3 gram of chlorella twice a day. Did this for several months and retested. Again, my lead and mercury levels went up. The strange thing is, I've had noticeable improvement in symptoms, particularly pain and fatigue. I was so surprised to get the latest results. I thought for sure the numbers would have gone down. The doctor is more or less stumped. I'm doing decent detox stuff, no sauna though. Any thoughts?

Heavy metals can be parked in numerous places in your body, and some are hard places to get to. So when you took your test, the easiet metals to get at were pulled.
It appears your chelations are working and are more effective than when you 1st tested. Also you may have opened up your detox pathways so that more is coming out.
I am chelating with DMPS once a month, after 12 infusions over about a year and 1/2 my mercury was down by half but my lead level showed it had doubled! I have just completed my 18th and perhaps have 6 more to go, we will see!
My doctor said the body may want to get rid of mercury first or the lead is just harder to release.
I think the great news for you is that you feel better! One of the people I met getting a chelation was on her 43 chelation. She was feeling better and her levels were coming down but she still had a ways to go.
Before I did not feel any better after a chelation. Now I notice an improvement even if it is short lived. I would take a lot of minerals with our chelation treatment.
All the Best, MattH

MattH, Thanks for the input....I think my chelation protocol is pretty gentle, and I need to keep in mind that this is a long term process. I take a mineral supplement, have regular labwork done, and yes, the bottom line is I'm feeling better.

What mineral supplement do you take garunner? I am doing an IV push for mercury and want to make sure I am taking the right supplements too.

Getting rid of heavy metals can certainly improve symptoms, but have you figured out where they came from in the first place and dealt with that?

Ask your doctor if bentonite clay or charcoal might help to pull it out. My doctor has me alternate these with chelation.

Are you sure your water source is safe? A lot of people drink lead in their water without knowing it.

AnnaOD20, I take a supplement called TRACE-MINS by Nature's Plus, plus Mag Glycinate, Calcium, and probably some other mineral supps that I can't think of right now. My doctor didn't recommend anything in particular. In general, my labs come back in the normal-ish ranges, so I guess what I'm taking is doing okay.
Doctor Luddite, I have NO idea why I have high lead and mercury!
James1979, I hope my water source is safe....never thought about that. I don't test high for lead and mercury in blood tests, just the provoked urine test. The doctor says that means I am not currently be exposed. I hope that is an accurate statement.
Thanks for your input and suggestions.
