Now that I am well so much of the time, I really feel it when I flare or herx. I have a def pattern of flare every 7 days..what bug is this??

Someone smarter than me will hopefully confirm my guess, but I think they say that babesia flares on a weekly basis, on average.

that's what I thought! and, I've tested negative for babesia but I am so convinced I have it. I'm gonna request treatment for babsss...babs is not welcome in my body

It is babs. I had the weekly flare. It was like clockwork as soon as I started treating babs.
It started about 7 p.m. every Friday evening and lifted about 7 p.m. on Sunday evening.
It seemed unreal. But, my lyme doc was not surprised when I told him. He also said babs has a 14 day cycle. After I had the 7 day flares for a while, it jumped to every other weekend (14 day cycle). That's a good sign because after that the flares quit.
Once you have no more flares, you know the babs is gone!

This is very interesting....... my husband has been trying to figure out why he feels worse on Sundays.
Its been like that for a long time already. Now since he started treatment its both Saturday & Sunday when he feels worse.

I have yet to figure out a babesia flare. I wish I had one so it was more predictable.

I believe the tests for Babesia are often negative for the following reasons: 1> many other species of Babesia cause similar symptoms and are not being tested for. 2> Samples are drawn from large vein and placed in tubes which are then sent to lab and smeared onto slides. This technique systematically reduces the probability of a positive test. It would be better if Babesia specimens were taken directly from the fingertip but I rarely hear of it being done.
