Posted on Lyme Disease Action Facebook- (United Kingdom)

Lyme Disease Action

LDA has now heard from all the doctors who were reported to the GMC for inappropriate diagnosis and treatment of Lyme disease.

The fitness to practice hearings will not be going ahead and we are told that the cases are being dropped because a clinical diagnosis of Lyme disease cannot be considered as misconduct.

More good news! This is posted on the Lyme Disease Action website (United Kingdom- see link below)....

Lyme Disease Action has been certified as a provider of high quality health information by The Information Standard scheme.

This scheme was developed by the Department of Health to help the public identify trustworthy health and social care information easily.

At the heart of the scheme is the standard itself a set of criteria that defines good quality health or social care information and the methods needed to produce it.

To achieve the standard, organisations have to show that their processes and systems produce information that is

accurate
impartial
balanced
evidence-based
accessible
well-written

Accredited organisations have to show that where there are alternative views these are considered and presented; that information is truly evidence based and thoroughly researched from reputable sources.

Balanced, reliable information on Lyme disease is hard to come by, but LDA has achieved it.

Doctors and patients can now use the information on this website secure in that knowledge.

If someone quotes other sources of information be sure to ask whether those sources are also fully accredited.

This is good news. Of course I don't think the main stream MD's will stop.

Very nice, that a clinical diagnosis is acceptable. Now to get that awareness accepted on the "other side of the pond" as well...

Yes,thank you all for your interest; it is a great relief for those of us in the UK. You can count on one hand the number of LLMDs we have here, so we certainly can't afford to lose any!

Thanks especially to Tincup for that well-deserved compliment to LDA [Lyme Disease Action].

This is very good news for both Lyme patients and doctors in the UK.I have also heard that ILADS were a great source of help and support- this disease is truly international and hopefully so will be the solutions.

The more this sinks in, the more excited I am about it!

This news is monumental!!!

It will have a trickling down positive affect on many other places too!

Excellent work by you guys and gals!!! Congratulations!!!

The time is right, we are all on a roll and the ship carrying those who have been so hateful and ugly to patients is sinking.

It was really nice to see the IDSA founder/member publishing the 51 case studies of chronic Lyme and debunking the "no chronic Lyme" theory. How lovely is that?

Then the news that your docs will be protected and can treat. WOW on that! Then your site being accepted as "credible" by the government. YES!

BTW- some of the USA advocates I spoke to were very happy to hear this! I'm still jumping up and down about it!

In fact, may I have this dance?

[Big Grin]

Keep up the good work! Now you are free to do what we've all been trying to do all these years, without the devil blocking your way....

Educate, educate, educate!

I am so proud of you all and your efforts! Way to go!
