Just got some blood work back and had a couple of abnormals was just curious what might be the reasons:

Calling Lyme Scientists.

Abnormal Report:

Lymphocyte, ABS 1.23 Normal (1.5-4.5)

Bilirubin Total 1.5 Normal (0.2-1.0)
ALT and AST came back great at:

Any thoughts?

Paul

Sometimes my doc just does a watch when they are slightly off and then retests in a month. It depends on the test. Some of them can vary just with a cold or stress.

I am not a scientist at all, just sharing our experience with labwork.

Paul,

Elevated bilirubin could indicate babesia or it could indicate gallstones. You need to have the test repeated and get the breakdown between indirect and direct bilirubin. That should help pinpoint the cause for the elevated number. Actually any infection which causes hemolysis could in theory cause elevated bilirubin -- so bartonella could also be a possibility.

If your WBC is normal that is good. Low lymphocytes with a normal WBC probably indicates that the body is actively fighting off an infection but will not help pinpoint what infection is involved.
