This all started with urinary tract infection like symptoms. I had burning/blood in urine. Took Augmentin. Next day all symptoms gone except back pain by kidneys. Pain got worse over next few days and came to the front around lower rib cage and gut.

I had a urine test and it showed no signs of infection just "dehydration".

Now I have pain in my gut and crazy gurgling noises. Last night my ribcage hurt and my shoulders/neck ached. I've been treating for a year now and never had this problem.

Could I be having bowel issues from the dehydration? Could it be parasites or something in the gut? Maybe gallbladder problem? I restarted Olive Leaf recently and had no problems prior but now this..?? This is all sort of sudden

It would be a very good idea to treat for parasites. You can start with one of the herbs like Parastroy or Humaworm and see how you do with that. Parasites can be in the bladder as well.

Thanks Gael. Would parasites cause a lot of issues with stool? Undigested food, foul smell ect..

I always thought my stool issues were lyme and co. Did anyone have gut issues go away with parasite treatment?

Can you treat for parasites at the same time as Lyme/co's or do you have to do them separate?

I had these EXACT same issues, and it all turned out to be Bartonella and Mycoplasma pneumonia related. Good to get tested for these if you haven't already.

Jamers,

Google parasite symptoms. Dr. K. treats all of his patients for parasites FIRST and Lyme and co SECOND.

When my lyme flares, I have gastroparesis-gurguling noises, stomach pain etc.

Digestive enzymes help till it passes.

Hi Jamers,

I have suffered with the same problems, off and on, for nearly 2 years. I have been treating parasites for over 1 year and symptoms still flare.

For me, I think it could be a combo of parasites and bart.

Like always....so confusing to figure out what is going on.

I have been treating both lyme/co's and parasites at the same time for well over a year.

I used Parastroy for almost 1 year and now switched to prescription meds for parasites.

I don't have M. Pneumonia but I do have Bart and have been treating it with Rifampin for 4 months now. This is the first time I have this issue. It may be related.

I haven't treated parasites yet though. I also started Flagyl last month and now have this issue so Im wondering if the Flagyl kick- started the Lyme stomach issue.

I guess I will try parasite treatment and the digestive enzymes. Thanks EVERYONE!

Yes, I get them tested every month. Last time I tested was about 2 weeks ago. They were normal. I was thinking that also, or perhaps my gallbladder is causing these digestive issues. Planning on doing a liver/gall cleanse after treating parasites, as I've been instructed.

Jamers,

My gut went haywire just after starting Augmentin this past August. I had crazy diarreha and gurgling stomach noises. My GP had me tested for C-Diff (I was neg), but said this was a common side effect of the "Clav" portion of the Augmentin.

My LLMD said to stay with the Augmentin and increase dosage of probitics. That helped some, but I soon stopped the Augmentin and was swithced over to Doxy. The gut issues went away as soon as I stopped.

Up to that point I had done well over for 20 months on a wide range of ABX protocols (including Biaxin, Tetra, Omnicef, Suprax, Mepron, Zith) with no apparent side effects.

Just a thought...

Gurgling noises and gut pain can be signs of yeast. You are on flagyl and it is notorious for causing intestinal yeast problems.

"3. Yeast overgrowth is especially common. A strict anti-yeast regimen must be followed." (p. 15, Burrascano)

I suggest you call your doc and ask for some diflucan. He won't be surprised. It is hard to be on flagyl and not get yeast.

If it is yeast, you should notice quick improvement on the diflucan.

GMB-Thanks for the heads up! I have taken Augmentin for months with no issues before but it did cause yeast issues for me. Its one of the few meds I can tolerate [Smile]

TF-Thanks for the advice. I was wondering the same also, I am on Nystatin for yeast. If this is a yeast issue, then its awful! I hope the herx on diflucan isn't as bad or Im in BIG trouble!

Nystatin helps prevent yeast. But, once you get a yeast infection, nystatin can't get rid of it. You need diflucan.

Yeast is awful. If it goes on and on, it can make you as sick as lyme.

I don't think you will herx on the diflucan. Hopefully, 3 days of it and you will be OK as long as your diet is totally clean.

Do you have a white tongue? Check first thing in the morning. That will be your diagnosis.

I do have a little thin white coating on my tongue in the morning. I also have female yeast infections. Im on Rifampin and Diflucan is contraindicated. So I either have to stop the Rif. or find another yeast killer.
