I am seeking help from anyone here who has/had heart issues due to Lyme. As I mentioned before I am (or at least I think) almost done with treatment but some sx have persist and a few new ones have shown up.
A few months ago the only reminding sx was mild nerve pain and brief pin needle staving feelings. Again this was very mild with one week or so where the sx where stronger for a few days. This happened every month or so.
My Dr. put me on flagyl alone which did not do much for me (no herx or change in sx). He then re-added Bactrim and again I did not notice much change.
At the end of December I started to have what I now know is Heart Skips. I had then while on a full (very full) belly. It was XMas :-). I felt a small adrenaline rush feeling and felt like my throat was twitching. I has a handful of them in about 3 days time and then they were gone. They then re appeared one day after having some mild spicy food. This was about 2 months ago and I am still getting them. Sometimes daily sometimes I go a day or 2 without them or at least without feeling them.
During this time I have had an EKG, Eco and Stress test. All comeback good. I also has a holster monitor for 24 hours. Doc (Cardio) told me that it was also normal. He did said I had 5 heart skips which are normal he said and everything I have read pretty much confirms that.
Here is what I feel and wonder with any here gets these. Note that although this sx first seem to come with eating related activities, I also get them on an empty stomach.
The feeling is like a small adrenaline rush, a feeling of fear that comes in with no explanation and only lasts a second or 2. I feel it on my throat . Sometimes I also feel a "thump" which my doc tells me is the heart making up for the skip beat which is really a premature beat and not a skip. Interesting that the day I had the monitor and only fell this 2 time and they were very mild. I only fell them 2 or 3 times a day and while they are rather mild the really affect me on an emotional level
To make this post short here are my questions:
Anyone else getting these? Or has had them in the past? How many times a day?
What makes it better? I am on mag, COQ10, Fish Oil which should help but I really had not seem a difference. How long should for this to go away?
Can this just be the flagyl working and simply just a new sx show up dude to flagyl awaking the cysts? I like to be positive and think that this is old colonies of the bugs that where dormant getting hit by the abx and the biofilm busters I am taking
The main issue is that his makes me feel really crappy. I have no other heart issues. I can ride my bike, walk, go up stairs and I am fine, but when I get these I feel very anxious. Like man am I just going to pass out and die. Not afraid of death but this anxious feeing caused by this heart sx really does it for me.
I need help here...even if just a success story of heart sx.

I think heart issues were the first to hit me. Racing heart, skipped beats. Had the same tests as you, except a 30 day monitor. Everything came back fine. I am on a beta blocker as well and still have these issues.
Just this morning I was dealing with a short feeling of adrenaline that came out of no where while I was sitting on the couch. Happens a lot. I'm currently in Babesia treatment which is seeming to stir things up. Sometimes I go a couple of weeks without this happening, then a month of daily issues.
I take pretty much the same supplements as you do. And like you, it seems to hit me more emotionally than physically.
One small thing that made me feel better: I told my first LLMD about these symptoms, and that I am on a beta blocker, and he told me it was typical. Then under his breath he said if I can deal with the racing heart and skipped beats without beta blockers, it would be fine. I know it seems ridiculous, but it stuck out in my mind and made me feel a little better.

Keebler - thanks for the link. I read that before. Some info does not apply but I did note the 2 suplements that can make them better that I am not taking...
Now - How long have you have them for?

GiGi - I am keeping an eye on RF but I dont think this is an issue right now. I am pretty healthy otherwise BP is always good and my rate is also normal.
I am only getting a handful of skips a day with is why I hope I can "fix" them with supplements

Philly, I also have heart skips/palpitations. They drive me crazy. I also had all the tests including an echocardiagram. My heart looks good they tell me. Pressure is good too. Beta blockers didn't help at all.
What is interesting to me is that you are on flagyl. That is when this started for me with the heart palps. But I have been off for 1.5 years and still have the palps.
No supplement as of yet has helped. And while most things have gotten so so much better, I still have the palps. I am at a loss as to what to do. Mine are all day every day. I feel like I just have to live with it. Like people with buzzing in their ears, I have this.
Sorry I can't be more help except to tell you my experiences. Maybe someone will come along and tell us how to get rid of them.

How long where you on flagyl before you started to get them and how long did you stay on flagyl?
Someone else here said their skips started after flagyl. Related? I found nothing about elsewhere.

I was actually on my third round of it when it started. I was on around 3 months each time. I was also under a lot of stress at the time and thought it was because of that.

Sent you a PM. But for others...make sure you are hydrated because that is my number 1 cause for palps. Iron, magnesium and calcium levels need to be optimum. Remember the heart is a muscle and it needs these minerals to work well. Palps were always worse when I was deficient.
If you have a thyroid issue where you take supplements for it, sometimes medication batches vary in strength from month to month, so double check thyroid levels if palps persist.
Do you take any meds that prolong the QT interval? Examples of these are diflucan, adderall, zithromax, avelox, erythromycin, cipro, etc? That will cause these same symptoms. I did not see Flagyl on the QT list but double check with a pharmacist to be sure.
