Do not take LDN if you have been taking Tramadol for any period of time. If you've gotten dependant on Tramadol and you take LDN you will go into withdrawl within hours. DT like withdrawl.
Happened to my wife. She had been taking 4 Tramadol per day for months when her LLMD put her on LDN. It was horrible. LLMD couldn't understand it. This is common sense here.

Probably not. If you're not dependant on any opioids, you'll probably be ok.

Just don't take LDN close to when you took an opiod, or it will block the opiod. And if you're in significant pain, that is a drag! Pain is horrible.

I was considering LDN but I decided against it. It doesn't help everyone. I guess it depends on why you were given it. Your doctor should have known that it has interactions with pain meds... & explained all of this to you.
The pain meds made more sense to me since they actually were helping as opposed to something that may or maynot work. No reason to defend how much pain meds you need to take. If they help, that's a good thing in my book.
It's not as if you spend your life in an opium den... (or do you? - LOL)

My llmd also prescribed LDN while I was taking at least 6 tramadol daily. Went into wicked withdrawl
I don't know why docs don't know this, also the LND is usually compounded so they might not know other meds you are on.
I think if you are only taking 1 a week you are probably OK as long as its a couple days apart.
LDN needs to be taken for a while to get results, if its going to work

I have been trying LDN for 4 months.
I have not noticed any benefit.

Within 20 min of taking LDN I had hellish withdrawel from Tramodol.
Docs still say its not addictive. If you do a search you will see people going through hell trying to get off Tram. Had read also that its opioid like.
I would not have known I was addicted if I had not taken the LDN.
I want to get off the Tram.

Sorry people are having a hard time with pain meds. I didn't mean to be insensitive. They never affected me like that. I only felt they were helpful.
When I didn't have the money for pain meds anymore - I just stopped taking them but I still have very bad pain. I didn't have a wthdrawal or anything like that. I took oxycodone & vicodin for years in small doses.
I take kratom (an herb) instead. It has an opiod-like quality & it helps alot with pain. If I wasn't in pain, I would stop taking it. The drugs work better than the kratom but I'm just tired of doctors... I can get the kratom myself without any hassle or big money expenditure.
I like the way I feel without drugs (or kratom) better than with drugs. I just can't function after a while in constant pain. I guess I don't have an addictive tendency.
Some forms of meditation & out of body experience help with pain, too.
If I recall correctly - my doctor said about 50% of people who take LDN get a positive effects. It wasn't worth the trial for me. I found I was getting more benefit from taking pain meds.
I just can't believe that doctors prescribe LDN without telling people not to take pain meds for a while. I knew this years ago when I was considering it... I'm really surprised.

Addicted....Santa Cruz,,,It's just that body is used to some form of it being there..
.Doesn't mean you're a drugy...LDN can do those thing's to people not on any of these other meds.
Even at much lower doses... LIKE A CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF..per compounding pharmacist.
Good for some ..terrible for others..It's supposed to be a pain relief by blocking opioid receptors in brain,,Like a fake out..
Probably wrong words to describe , but call the compounding pharmacy and ask to talk to pharmacist. Nonna
It's all just so iffy........Again doctor's still can use a double check..
I used to Google anything doctor ordered to take..
That's how I found out, after 1 pill , that if you have Sulfa allergy ..YOU CAN NOT take CELABREX.
Now how many have been given that for pain....

I know I am not a druggie,Nonna:) And I know my body is addicted to Tram. I know addiction well as I was addicted to Valium and almost died getting off of it.
I talked to a friend who is a pharmacist and he told me he has many friends addicted to it and going through hell getting off.
I see others here have had problems getting off Tramodol. When I was put on Valium yrs ago they had no clue it was addictive. I was put on it do to thyroid being hyperactive.
I am not ready to get off the Tram as it helps with severe pain I get in.It mainly takes the edge off. We r all different so just be aware and find out the good the bad and the ugly about all these meds.

If the tramodol helps... why stop - unless it is doing something bad...? If you have chronic pain, it's pretty hard to function. I think of addiction as someone who does not have a medical problem & wants to get high. For people in chronic pain - it just gets us to normal.
I don't mean to pry or anything. I don't really have a problem with people getting high, either. I guess it has societal problems but I think people should have control over what they do with their consciousness.
I mean, people can be addicted to alot of things... sugar, carbs, religion, drinking, money, working, smoking, even music or tv... I guess if the negative effects outweigh the positive & one can't stop, it's a problem.
Why pay a doctor if they prescribe a bunch of things & don't know what they are doing...? Why should we have to double check if we are paying someone like $400 an hour. That's what gets me mad.
i know - it's happened to me, too. That's why I don't like going to doctors. After a while, I didn't want to keep throwing money away.

I've been taking LDN 2mg for about 2 weeks. I like it so far...it's nice for me to have some endorphins after a year of feeling like death on a daily basis...but the symptoms I'm taking it for are mainly auto-immune type stuff/cytokine storms/fevers/fatigue...not so much pain.
I agree with the others. I was on Klonopin every day for the past year (which is addictive). When I didn't need it anymore (about a month ago), I weaned off of it with no problems. It helped me sleep. Even though taking a benzodiazepine every day for a year wasn't ideal, it served its purpose until I found a better way to get some ZZZ's.

You might consider Wobenzym to replace the pain meds. There are other threads on it. It is amazing, no side effects, not addictive to the body and it can be used simultaneously with LDN.
Compared to Wobenzym, I haven't experienced noticeable pain relief with the LDN. The LDN has increased my energy and brought me a brighter mood.
The only downside of Wobenzym is the out of pocket expense.
