I have had a rough couple of weeks with a lung infection that has required high dose steroids to breathe...please, don't give me the song and dance about immune suppressant, I have had very bad asthma all of my life and if there was a way to live without steroids, I would do it. Has anyone else in the northwest had a bad lung infection lately? Not a big phlegm producer, but a lot of inflammation? It hs to be viral since anything that came out was clear or white cloudy. Doing my taper off of steroids, but it has been hell to breathe.

Otter,
I had very bad rush me to the hospital bad asthma most of my life also. I got rid of it completely when I treated for parasites/lung worms.
Parasites/worms can play a MAJOR role in Lyme disease and are often an overlooked infection even by LLMDs.
Google parasite symptoms. I used antiparasitic herbs and salt/c to treat for parasites and Lyme. You can do a search on here for parasites for more info.

I can relate as I have asthma as well. One of my concerns was my daily inhaler advair is a steroid. Without it I cannot breathe well. When i saw my LLMD she said to continue taking it and not to be concerned as sometimes there are things we have to take and breathing is pretty important!

My daughter has to do an inhaler. I have often wondered if it has hindered her from getting well, but she has to have it to breathe!
I don't really know what the answer is. I guess it couldn't hurt to treat for parasites.

. . . Even a single dose of acetaminophen can reduce the bodys levels of glutathione, a peptide that helps repair oxidative damage that can drive inflammation in the airways, researchers have found. . . . -

Per Dr. K.. Lungworm (varestongylus klapowi) is often the culprit with asthma. It is a parasite and it is treated with a combination of pharmaceuticals. I have posted about it - so if you would please search here. Check the book by Simon Yu, M.D. "Accidental Cure" and google for his website. You will find lots of info there. He also publishes a newsletter.
Take care.
