No, but I have started giving my DD a combination of Alka Selzter Gold and glutithione(sp?) and it has helped her.

Antihistminic just help against some symptoms induced by Histamine but not all the immune reactions. I felt better with levocetirizine which is in a brand named xusal all or xysal or so. Don't know how called in the US.

There are many means by which one could encourage detoxing...
Antihistamines by themselves do not encourage detoxing, they just mask symptoms.
Suggest better options would be things like Epsom salt bath soaks, dry skin brushing, charcoal tablets, sufficient fluid intake, etc.

I agree with Razzle about antihistamines masking problems, not helping to detox them.
At least for me. I get a temporary relief of some symptoms, I get very tired, have a nap and then when I wake up the symptoms are back.
I always think natural things that help detox the liver, kidneys, lymphatic system are a better idea than adding another chemical to the mix.
Also, Allegra cannot be used with lots of abx that is used with lyme.
Epsom salt soaks, drinking lemon water, IR sauna and rest are the things that work the best for me.

I have used liquid benedryl during what I call attacks (maybe herxes, who knows?) I am all for symptom relief.
This disease sucks. I believe in detox and do most of what is suggested but there are times when I am in a bad way and benedryl helps me to get through it.
If it works for you, then use it. Dr. B said that when you are in pain, you can't heal so it is important to keep that symptom at bay, IMO.

I wish there was an alternative suggestion for those unable to take Alkaseltzer Gold (I'm allergic to most of the ingredients)...

When I felt like I was dying a few months back on Flagyl and Keflex, I took a Zyrtec and it really helped. I think it helps with mast cell activation or something like that.

I take generic zyrtec most every night. I think it has helped me. I will try lemon and water and few others to help with the process.

The herb, STINGING NETTLE may serve to compensate for the reaction by calming the the cytokine storm that is often part of a herx reaction.
It also has action against allergies, similar in some ways to antihistamines but different from harsh masking action or dependence that can come with some drugs or OTC chemicals in this category. -
