Hello there,

I'm trying to get some feedback on my current state of treatment. I've had Lyme for about 13 years I think...didn't know it for the first 10 (just thought I was going crazy, for the most part)...Diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and treatment didn't help.

Anyway I found an Ok LLMD and was diagnosed based on CD 57 and weak positive from Igenex...Was on Doxy for a year and Mepron and Azithromycin for 6 months.

I stopped the Doxy in February...CD 57 was 50 and was up to 91...Brain fog/anxiety/Head pressure and overall health was much better than before treatment.

Now I went on my own to take Samento, Banderol, Cumanda and Grapefruit Seed Extract and Oil of Oregano.

My problems have gone from the awful fatigue and head pressure to now joint issues.

I have a knee and back problem that have sprung up within the last 6 months...

I have been reffered to specialists for it (I mention Lyme and the don't care).

Knee MRI showed possible MCL sprain?...I didn't have any specific injury...it just aches and hurts and limits my exercise big time.

Back MRI revealed very slight disk degeneration (I was told it looks very good for my age (32).

So, I spine specialist said to go to chiropractor..went there for several treatments and it hasn't helped...it's actually very painful to get the manipulation done.

My primary (very basic LLMD) is saying go back for cortisone injections (doesn't think it will harm the Lyme)...they think maybe disk is bothering a nerve, since my pain is actually behind left shoulder blade...it is very painful in the morning and frequently wakes me up at night.

It's strange because I can lift weights and run and the back doesn't bother me too much...it's just pressure directly applied or sudden movements and when I wake up that it is really painful...from mid back to the left shoulder blade..

Sorry for the long post..any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

If this is a sprain of the knee, have you been off of it long enough? It must have time to heal.

That "very basic LLMD" is NOT a LLMD. Every LLMD knows not to have a patient do a steroid shot.

Cortisone injections CAN, INDEED, HARM LYME. Big time. My life was destroyed for six months several different times from cortisone injections in joints. And it sticks around in the body for six months, too. Terrible things can happen.

Find another way.

Did you also know that cortisone shots can basically destroy the very joints structure that you want strengthened? Yep. Can just cause it to disappear over time.

Some kinds of adjustments simply should not be done on those with lyme. Is that DC LL ? If not, find one who is - or at least one who is gentle such as with the UPLEDGER METHOD.

Especially, neither the neck nor other parts of the spine should be suddenly twisted for anyone with lyme. UPLEDGER does not do that. A good LL DC would know to not do that, too.

Acupuncture may be of help. Also consider: Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Restorative Yoga, Pilates

My guess would be that your joint problems are lyme disease.

Go on good lyme treatment and see if things improve. That is the test. And, I believe it is lyme because you did not treat long enough or strong enough for a person who has had lyme so long.

Lyme loves the joints. Get good lyme treatment and forget the specialists until you see what really good lyme treatment will do for those joint pains.

Please don't take a cortisone shot. You could regret it for the rest of your life. Burrasacano says a steroid can cause permanent damage to a lyme patient. Take that warning seriously.

thanks for the information....I'm thinking of trying the acupuncture...also, I've been heavy on the herbs and parasite treatments lately...I feel better overall, it's just the pains that are bothering me.

If you've been treating parasites, they let go of lots of toxins and heavy metals when they die. Bone pain, joint pain, muscle pain etc can be from heavy metals. Have you looked into this?

Just speaking from my own experience.

my "osteo-arthritis" began in my 30's. it is not supposed to begin that early...remember Bb eats cartilage

cortisone shots gave me minimal relief for short period and then ruined my knees-both are replaced now-im 63

i have disc problems in almost every part of back...neck was made worse by whip lash...but worse is lumbar .. no injury

i believe it is all from lyme...but wheher it is or not take good quality cosamine-all ortho docs do...it just gives you more miles with the cartilage you have...no neg

i agree it is worth more heavy abx tx...you are young and have a long life ahead of you-zap it now. then maintain with herbs...
