I have been off abx for 6 months after about 5 years. I am really feeling pretty good and even my LLMD thinks I am done with lyme and bartonella but she wants to work on restoration.

She prescribed Byron White A-Myco and A-EB/H6 and Energetix Drainage Tone. Doing OK on the Drainage-Tone (now at 11 drops/day supposed to be 30/day) but today added in the other 2 - just one drop of each (supposed to be 5 drops 2x day though it says 1 drop 2x week on bottles).

This was 7 hours ago and have been feeling really horrible ever since - nausea, shaky legs, non-functioning. Since I was already feeling pretty good I don't have much incentive to continue with the 2 Byron White products. Anybody else had this reaction?

You could try some alka seltzer gold on your herx.

My doc put me on A-bart, AEB/H6 and a few others. (he swears by Byron White herbs). I haven't tried Drainage Tone.

Byron White herbs are very strong. Some people herx on just one drop. I was told to start, and continue VERY slowly on them. My doc told me to put one drop in a glass of water and to just try 1/3 of the glass the first day.

If I did okay (no hard herx) on that, then I could drink the other 2/3 the next day. If you go too fast on these drops you can cause treatment failure with hard herxes, so back down on the dosage.

If my herx is bad due to my upping my dosage by one drop at a time, then I have found lemon water helps bring the herx down.

I would just try the 1/3 glass thing and work up slowly.

Thanks for info. I am just not convinced that I need these herbs when I feel perfectly fine without them. Guess I will discuss with doc at next appt.

I just started BW herbs - AL complex. I have started with just 1 drop 2 x day under the guidance of a LLNP. Within 3 days, I have noticed increased bone and joint pain (shins, ankles, knees and hands), especially at night.

I used to have migrating pain in all of these areas before I knew I had Lyme. I am wondering if the herbs are bringing the spirochetes out of hiding and this is die off. I sure hope so.

I am probably going to stay on my current dosage for a while and increase very slowly. I am excited about this.

That's what they do for some people. I felt great on them right from the start. I think my body was just so happy to be off of abx. I think some people take them with abx too.

As soon as I started them, I started herxing like clockwork. The herxes are milder than abx are. I even developed a herx every weekend. I still have it. TF explained this to me once as a babs herx. And then every 4 weeks, the lyme herx.

Byron White is a genius. His little drops work on many people. Dbpei, A-L is a great one for me. It attacks all 3 forms of lyme. That is what you're feeling right now (attack phase). :)

Wow Maradona. I guess that is what makes this disease so difficult to treat, because everyone responds so differently - and symptoms vary so much as well...

Catgirl, that is amazing that your herxes are patterned that way. I am just starting to go back to work M,W,F - so I hope my herxes will be when I am home.

I hope I can eventually stop the ABX and just take the herbs so I don't do anymore damage to my ears. But I will proceed with caution...

I had to go off abx (yeast, insomnia, bladder issues).

There is something to it with going slowly, as well as limiting these drops. My doc told me not to go past 15 drops. These are not like Cowden drops (higher dosage).

There is also a synergistic effect when combining them.

DD per her LLND started one drop of A-L last Wednesday.

The last couple of days she has felt shakey or maybe it is a vibrating feeling inside her body. Also she is getting muscle spasms.

Has anyone experienced these symptoms on A-L?

Dr. only wants her on 1 drop per day for now. On a good note, she says her mood seems better.

Yes. It's hitting it. If she herxes hard, she can always back down to 1/3 of a glass of water which only has 1 drop in the whole glass. Then the next dosage try another third of the glass, etc. I was instructed to go very slowly like this. Detoxing helps (lemon water).

Everyone is different. Some people can tolerate their dosage right away. Others herx on one drop. I only upped my dosage only after I felt okay for about 5 days.

That is wonderful her mood is better. That was the first thing I noticed on Byron White (big difference for me).

Jane, glad your daughter's mood is better despite the other new symptoms. Keep us posted on how she is doing.

I had to take a break from the BW herbs for a bit until we figure out what is causing my burning gut pain. I had been on ABX and BW herbs together and it might have been too much for me.

The herbs seemed to help me as well. Since starting BW herbs in August, my mood also improved. I had a better overall feeling of wellness except still dealing with head buzzing and vibrations with bad tinnitus several days per week.

Hoping to eventually stop the ABX and move to herbs.

I dont understand why you think you don't need to take the drops?

If it is causing a herx, then it means that there is still a very high level of viruses/ bacteria in your body. You may feel fine, like many due when they are infected, but all it takes is one more added stressor and you're back to square 1.

Listen to your Dr!!

Jane, I did not notice this. But instead, I did notice a metallic taste in my mouth especially when awakening in the morning.

Take a look at the Treatment instructions for Byron white ABAB.

I would follow these guidelines when deciding how many drops you should be taking.

Thanks for the replies.

I know some have mentioned that their mood improved on BW herbs.

Anyone feel more depressed on the herbs?

Would like to hear if anyone else experienced increased depression on BW.

If she is becoming more depressed by the herbs, then I would let LLND know and not have her take any longer. There may be a different herb complex that might work better for her.

Depression comes on whenever I herx. This happened to me even when I wasn't on Byron White herbs, just abx, so for me it's normal. But my herxes are not as bad as when I was on abx (couldn't move).

Is she depressed longer than her usual herx week (if she has one)? Is she on abx too? It may be the combination of the two (meds/herbs). Sometimes just upping a formula one drop sends me into herxville and depression, and I have to back down and just make slow increases.

It sounds like the drops are doing what they are supposed to do. But if your daughter can't function, her doc can adjust her meds/herbs. Detoxing should help her with depression (helps me).

Also, alkaline her diet during this time. More salads, greens, lemon water, etc. It helps. And I know this sounds counter intuitive, but exercise helps too (light weight lifting). I feel better within a couple of minutes of my workout.

Thanks Catgirl with the helpful suggestions. I hope it is related to herxing.

Now if I can get her to drink some Lemon water. [Smile]

She is only at one drop per day and no antibiotics.

Jane, if she won't drink lemon water, get her some alkaline water. It does the same thing, only it's more expensive.
