I have a friend who finally got a positive Babs fish test. His doc prescribed Biaxin. Doesn't sound right to me. If going the conventional route, aren't the best choices Mepron/Zith or Bactim DS?
He's hoping to knock his load down so he can minimize symptoms until he can get in with a Dr. K-type practitioner.
Thanks, Tammy

Yes, Biaxin is similar to zith. It worked great for me. Many docs give you mepron or malarone with it, or even plaquenil. Plaq has some action against babs.
Another route is Zith and artemisinin, or clindamycin/quinine.

Thanks for your replies.
His doc did not recommend Mepron, Malarone or Plaq with it, as far as I know, that's why I'm stumped. Biaxin on its own won't touch Babs.
Another uneducated duck.....
