It's for my 18 year old with severe depersonalization syndrome.

We are trying to see Doc J, but the correspondence has been sooooo slow.

Just want to learn somethings for that glorious day.

Thanks,

You need antibiotics that cross the BBB (blood brain barrier).

OFLOXACIN (racemic mixture) a fluoroquinolone

RIFAMPIN lipophilic ----------------- (all rifamycins)

METRONIDAZOLE (Flagyl)- lipophilic [used against Bb cysts]

COTRIMOXAZOLE (Bactrim) a sulfa drug -- (all
Sulfamides)

SPARFLOXACIN (Zagam) a fluoroquinolone

Ketek from what Ive read, crosses the BBB only weakly. Macrolide family, 4th generation,

LEVOFLOXACIN (L isomer of Ofloxacin) a fluoroquinolone

DOXYCYCLINE (vibramycin) a tetracycline type-lipophilic.

MINOCYCLINE-a Tetracycline

GREPAFLOXACIN-

AMOXICILLIN- a penicillin type, passes BBB only weakly

Bicillin a penicillin, passes bbb only weakly if at all; theres some disagreement among pharacologists about this. See footnote below.

BIAXIN-a macrolide-passes BBB weakly

ZITHROMAX- a macrlide-passes BBB weakly

ERYTHROMYCIN a macrolide---passes BBB, but not as well as other antibiotics.

Tinidazole (Tindamax) a 2005 drug ref says: Tinidazole is distributed into virtually all tissues and body fluids and also crosses the blood-brain barrier. [used against Bb cysts]

Flagyl is number one, next come antibiotics for treating bartonella eg quinolones and antitubercular eg rifampin. Then maybe Bactrim
for some.

Bactrim really helped my neuro symptoms, but I was having heavy BArt flares after 8 months, so we switched to Cipro. I do still wish I was taking Bactrim, but I think the Cipro is helping for sure.

Thanks for everyone's help.

My daughters email to me is in Doc J's folder for review, as well as my own emails to the office.

It's been a week. I know he's swamped, and all of us feel our circumstances are urgent.

But, hopefully I will here from his office today or tomorrow.

More then likely will be taking a trip up.

I can't imagine IV or IM, because she's a lifeguard.

She's not talking to me now because she thinks I treat her like a baby, knowing what's best fr her body. After all, someof her friends are on mental meds, why shouldn't she be.

So tired.
