my liver enzymes rise dramatically if i take tinidazole (tindamax) LONG TERM!

I feel improvement in my symptoms but i cant risk liver damage! i did 2x500mg for 4 month.

my doc said my enzymes were higher than in acute hepatitis infected people.

by they way: i stopped tinidazole 1 month ago and enzymes went back to normal. also my little improve in symptoms is gone :-(

my problem is what to do now?

try alinia? isn t it even harder on the liver? never tried it.

already tried flagyl

i am already on high dose milk thistle, alpha lipoic acid, NAC, curcumin, dandelion, artichoke - nearly everything i could find what is good for the liver! but WASNT while on tindamax!

I have had similar liver issues with various meds. Glutathione IV's help me somewhat.

How about Plaqeunil? I've been able to tolerate that one with my liver. Everyone's different though.

i ve done plaquenil for 6 month and had no improvement.

tinidazole is the only medication i had improvement with in 3 years. and i took at least 10 different abx...

iv gluthatione is not available in germany

Depending upon how high of a dose, that can raise liver enzymes, too. Some people can't tolerate milk thistle and need to go to more gentle approaches such as Dandelion, etc.

You don't mention this but, just in case, too much exercise for someone with a toxic infection can also raise liver enzymes as the liver can't process it all out when under exercise strain.

Too little movement can also raise liver enzymes, though. Gentle movement is good.

Acetaminophen, too, can cause liver stress (and even damage), even a normal dose.
