So after those who have had C. Diff got rid of it, did you go back on abx?

I did go on oral abx briefly afterand I am about to go on IV antibiotics soon. My c diff was extremely severe -I was in intensive care and my drs thought I wasn't going to make it. I feel lucky to be alive. I take TONS of probiotics to prevent a recurrence. Jess.

Yes I meant antibiotics for lyme...I cannot handle orals right now as my intestinal tract is too damaged by the lyme..and I am sure the c diff didn't help. Also, I have tremendous neuro symptoms and IV targets those symptoms more aggressively than oral. Jess.

Thanks Jess. I got my C-Diff pretty quick (a week) and am flabergasted by how bad I have felt. My heart goes out to you. I mean it has been so bad I really really don't want to take any more abx. Good for you for doing IV. I don't even think I'd do that. Just tired of the fight...

abigail~ I had C. diff for 11 long months. I finally got over it and I have taken antibiotics since (with no recurrence of C. diff). However, I'm always worried about it.

This might be a time for you to consider other reasons for your illness. Maybe viruses are an issue. See: http://chronicfatigue.stanford.edu/patient_care/

Or maybe getting rid of gluten or other food allergens may help you.

See this as an opportunity to explore other issues. It seems to be more than just a chronic bacterial infection in me....

Best, timaca
