I was on Lariam at the same time I was on Mepron, so, yes, I was also on a macrolide. I ultimately had to stop taking Lariam because it always caused increased depression, to a point it was not good.
I'm using Cryptolepis and Artemisinin now, along with Enula, and that has not caused the same side effects.

i am asking because macrolides and lariam both affect the QT intervall. at the moment i cant use tetracycline like drugs due to resistances as they render ineffective. the lariam is doing a good job for me but i am reaching a plateau and i need to add an intracellular agent again, my options are macrolides and quinolones at the moment!
thankful for experiences!!!

Hubby was on lariam, factive, IV zithromax, IV clindamycin, malarone and pulsing oral flagyl and artemisinin and also on low dose ECGC as his final med combo before he went into the hospital.
In retrospect that combo was probably too effective. The flagyl was the final med added and caused what was probably a cytokine storm.

P.S. Before the 2 additional tickbites it was lariam, malarone and ivermectin with minocycline which got him off meds for 2 months. I think he was also on flagyl then but took it daily rather than pulsing it.
Switching from IV rocephin to IV clindamycin was rough and then trying to add in flagyl on top of that may have been too much.
I would just add 1 thing at a time to see what works for you. I know that hubby also took crytolepis and sida acuta at different points in time while on the lariam and malarone also.
