is elevated liver function common with lyme disease? a recent blood work test showed elevation but i also think i had the flu when the blood was drawn- any input would greatly help ease my mind!! thnx lenny

Bartonella can elevate liver enzymes on its own.
Otherwise heavy-duty ABX treatment for Lyme and Co's and be hard on your liver.

My liver enzymes are through the roof! 226 & 465 even with multiple liver supports since April!!! Had to stop all treatment til enzymes return to normal. Have had many tests in the last week and many more scheduled as well as seeing a world reknown liver specialist in 3 weeks. Very concerned about liver damage and not treating lyme.

What liver supports are you using?
My son and I both had very high liver enzymes when we got a new LLMD. He had us go on LiverLife by Bioray Natural. Go slow! We started with 1/2 a drop 2 times a day and worked up very slowly.

What were your test numbers? Be sure to get copies of all your tests for your personal medical file.
What did your doctor instruct you to do about the elevated numbers? Many people here have said their docs just told them to stop all medications, and then retest in a week or two.
There are supplements you can take to help the liver make glutathione, which it needs to detoxify the poisons in the body. You can also do castor oil packs.

Mine were mild-moderately elevated before any antibiotics. It was actually the only abnormality for me on "standard tests."
I had to go off all medications several times and then start slow with a new protocol. Oddly enough, Rifampin (which is pretty hard on the liver) was the medication that dropped my enzymes into the normal level.
