Can saccharomyces boulardii cause yeast to flare? I was told to take it for diarrhea- this is the second day and all my yeast symptoms are back- green tongue, headache, sore throat, lymph pain, ear pain...

I'm so miserable and frustrated right now.

Thank you for anwering, Catgirl. I am upping other probiotics for sure!

Took benadryl before bed and it helped so I guess that means I'm allergic to yeast? That's all I could find as a reaction on the web. Anyway, I'm done with the Saccharomyces...it helped my diarrhea, but that pain is not worth it...

I am allergic to yeast and cannot take sacc.b.

My reaction is a skin issue - not like what you describe but just be sure you do not have a yeast/allergy/sensitivity.

i took my florastor today and a couple of hours later, my chest got so tight i had a hard time breathing. it just felt well "off"..my bp rate is 140 over 93.

i take it with critical care cause i'm on flagyl and cipro.

i know i have a yeast problem but i'm wondering, too, if i have a problem with the florastor.

Florastor is Sacc B..

To answer your question, yes, sacc B can increase yeast infection and in the immunocompromised, those who have taken long courses of abx, central venous line users and ppl who take probiotics with sacchromyces can be even more prone to fungal problems from it.

I just received a positive nasal culture with sacchromyces grown from my sample. My doctor believes it is deep in my sinuses and the reason for my severe nose, eye, ear, forehead and facial pain.

If this is the case with you, a course or two of anti-fungals are necessary. Here is a short version of an article explaining Sacchromyces infection: http://cid.oxfordjournals.org/content/41/11/1559.short

That's scary Randi. Can you take a benadryl and see if it helps- if it does, that would indicate an allergic reaction to me!

i'm taking benadryl until these symptoms are completely gone. It's helping me.

I didn't used to be allergic to yeast, but I'm not surprised if that's the case- it seems like lyme eventually makes you allergic to everything right?

Uggh. It's so frustrating because I just got the yeast under control. I was sobbing like a baby when I saw my tongue last night. Oh well, at least I know. Just one more thing I have to be vigilant in avoiding...

Wow, this is very concerning. I am currently on florastor for yeast and noe I'm questioning if I should stop it.
