Yea, unfortunately Yale has a horrendous track record when it comes to supporting the concept of persistent lyme. It's always troubling to find Ivy-league students and docs who can only parrot info they find in textbooks and who are essentially devoid of real intellectual curiosity.
When I saw the news story for this on local TV, the lead researcher was already saying that it could be treated with just a few weeks of abx...just like lyme. Yeah, right.
If anything, Yale was probably feeling the heat from the much smaller, U. of New Haven, which has in contrast produced useful, pro-patient lyme studies.
