Topic: Who knows about hydrocortisone/cortisol and can enlighten me?

I'm having a big lightbulb moment, and plan to talk to my LLMD tomorrow.
For YEARS I have felt certain that something is off with my thyroid even though blood results are "normal". My symptoms are awful....I am dry dry dry. My hair is thin, my skin is dry, I cannot gain weight, extremities often cold, and did I mention I am dry?
Well I was just reading on Wikipedia about hydrocortisone. So many things "clicked", but especially when it said that hydrocortisone acts as an anti-diuretic hormone! I had no clue. I think this can be a big missing piece for me.
Last year I was put on an anti-diuretic hormone prescription (because my ADH levels are extremely low). It worked ok for a while, then I had a rare side effect where it caused an imbalance in my electrolytes and I had to slowly wean off. Then I went to being dry again and thought I just may need to (unhappily) live with this. Now I have renewed hope.
I've also heard its best to treat the adrenals and let the thyroid balance itself out, rather than trying thyroid meds.
But it also said some unfavorable things about cortisol....that it can impair immune function, slow bone growth, etc. I guess they mean if you have too much.
Thanks for any thoughts you can share.

I used it for one month with Florinef for adrenal insufficiency. I wanted to stay on longer but it was raising my liver enzymes and my LLMD wanted me off it.
I think it's safe as long as it's kept to a physiological dose. I wouldn't hesitate to go on it again. It made me feel quite a bit better.

I wonder why it would raise your liver enzymes?? Have you ever had that issue with anything else in the past? Any chance a lower dose would work okay?

I doubt the cortef is what raised the liver enzymes. More likely from the Florinef.
I've taken cortef for about 12 yrs now. I take a very low dosage. 10 mg a day.

Homeo K ADH is available at Biopure.eu Drops of it puts things back in order in a very short time. Your Klinghardt aware LLMD should be able to test you and probably is able to prepare a small bottle for you.
Homeo K's developed by Dr. K. work very very well -- I ordered myself the whole set and make my own homeopathics from it whenever I test for one.
I am sure there is a write-up on it.
