I thought and thought about posting this, thinking nobody would be interested. But the fact is, anything that affects those of us with compromised immune systems is important. It's like if we overlook one thing, then BAM, we come across it later.
Anyway, a few months ago I got an infected cut on my ankle that would not heal. I'd already been feeling bad with a bronchial type infection. So it lingered for weeks until I finally went to the doctor. It was a deadly bacteria that those of us who have Lyme or HAVE had Lyme (in remission) could be susceptible.
I wrote a detailed account of healing, with pictures, from this mega bacteria. It's so much like Lyme....very resistant to antibiotics. I published the article recently yet haven't shared it yet. I just feel that it's something that should be shared here, due to the fact of weakened immune systems.

Wow, scary stuff.
Thank goodness it didn't progress to the flesh eating stage!

So glad you finally healed. Another thing to be worried about!!
Guess we all need to be very careful when we get a cut. Never would have guessed that could happen.

I never guessed it could happen either. Especially since I'm considered "cured". But that cut was bad before I ever jumped in the water. I was just a lowered immune resistance and it took over. I felt it worth sharing.

This is why cleaning even small cuts with soap and water is important...
