Sorry you are not feeling well.
Our daughter only took three doses of 500mg and she still feels like she is flaring from the Flagyl days later.

Flagyl has been by far the worst drug that I've taken. I switched to Tindamax and it is still really tough, but I don't have nearly the amt of side effects. When I started flagyl, it really messed with my brain and psychiatric state.

Couldn't take another dose. I will see if Gyn can RX something else tomorrow.
This stuff is no joke. I thought I had herxed before...but nothing like this.

I'm taking 500 mg of flagyl 2x/day (2nd week of a 3 week pulse). I've been using Burbur (from Nutramedix)1 or 2x/day to help with detox.
It never even occurred to me that it has alcohol in it... but I've had no problems yet.

Hey lax mom, you can put the nutramedix drops on a cake or so and let the alcohol evaporate. so the extrakt stays in the cake. Or warm up the glass a little.

You may need to increase probiotics while taking flagyl. In my opinion it can make candida issues worse.
And I definitely think it works on babesia -- but by itself it is not enough to get rid of babesia.
I agree -- add alcohol tinctures to warm water and you should be able to continue taking those while on the flagyl -- just take them a couple of hours apart if possible.
Alinia might be another option. One of hubby's former LLMD's said that med contained flagyl plus something else -- could never confirm that statement though.

I dont believe anymore that new symptoms from flagyl are herxes.
It is simply a neurotoxic drug which you should be careful to take when you have a cns disease (which many of us have).

It's finally out of my system. Thank goodness!
It's so scary when you're in the middle of a herx/flare/med reaction it truly feels like there's no way out of it.
Bea: you were right about the yeast. It made mine worse.
sickmate: my CNS is already a mess. Flagyl just made things worse.

Oh glad you're better, it IS a very tough drug. My neuropathy became unbearable on it and I became severely depressed. At least now you know! Best lax mom!!

Flagy is hardcore. Once when I had a vaginal infection a doc prescribed me 2000mg for one day and I thought I would die. And it didn't even kill the vag. infection.
