Was wondering if this happens to anyone else...a lyme symptom? co infection???
I Had 3 areas on my leg where the vein was a very vivid bright blue. Not a varicose vein, no swelling or anything.
2 days later those veins turned into bruises and are slightly tender to the touch.
They are now the same color as a bruise will be as it's fading.
I"m confused!! why would a vein turn into a bruise with no trauma to it??

If I think you have what I have, it's called spontaneous bruising. I get them mostly on both arms and thighs, and occationally on calve or torso. I'm pretty sure they are related to Babs or babs-like infections killing off red blood cells.
Sometimes I wake up in the am and shower to find multiple bruises that looks like I was in a fight.
Take photos and document each occurance, you might find a pattern with other symptoms. I was on a schedule where they would appear almost every week on a Sunday or Monday.

I had something strange like this on my hands in the area between where my thumb and index fingers meet. I wasn't sure if I banged both hands when getting some things out of my shed.
One hand was really bruised. It looked like the hand of someone 90 years old! My veins are much more pronounced since being treated for lyme, especially in my hands and legs.

Have your iron levels tested. I still dread blood tests, but before I knew I was low in iron, by blood sticks would bruise something fierce. I agree that it is probably due to babs or bart.

you can look at me and i'll bruise.
and the iv's in the hospital remain black and blue for about a month.
and then they leave behind a discolored area on my skin that never goes away.

I'm always getting strange bruises where I have not bumped anything.
I'm being treated for bart, but maybe the bruising is undiagnosed babs. I don't have the major symptoms of babs, but that doesn't mean I don't have it.
Whatever it is, I'm taking vitamin C and Rutin and japanese knotweed to try to help the the blood vessels to be more stable.
I don't think it is good to bruise so easy (having weak blood vessels).
Hopefully we will figure this out.
