Mine did.
I was going to the chiro for a year every other day because of one excruciating spot on my spine. Still there now. Comes and goes. It's also on other spots now.
It was my chiro who said "I've had a string of deer tic illness" patients lately. That made me go get checked out.
I've since gave him the name of my first LLMD and he's had 6 or so patients in the past yr test positive.

Yes, mine started in the spine too. As a matter of fact I ended up having C4-5 fused in an attempt to ease the pain. That ended up causing a major Lyme, Babs, Bart etc cascade starting with an illius for 27 days in the hospital.
Now my neck/spine pain flares whenever my Babesia Duncani is out of control.

Maybe. Had never though of that as a Lyme symptom but def had problems there before neuro stuff started. Does any research, or lectures, mention this? Tree

Mine started in the lumbar spine. All of a sudden I had severe degeneration and that was when I was much younger.
Radiologist said an infection caused the degeneration. I did not know I had Lyme then.

Mine symptoms started in my neck. Couldn't move it.
I was going to muscle therapy for two months before my right knee swelled to the size of a mellon.
The ortho diagnosed lyme immediately and had me tested.
But 6 months before that a bad rash started coming and going every month on my palms and soles.
My doc thought it was eczema. I think it might be a co-infection such as EHRLICHIA/ANAPLASMA, as mentioned by Dr. B in his protocol.
It still comes and goes in the 30-day cycle, so I'm going to bring it up again with my LLMD.
He doesn't feel as if I have co-infectors with my symptoms. I don't have sore shins or any of the Bart or Babs symptoms.

Gosh! Yea I just remember waking up one morning and I felt like I had bruises all up and down my spine. I was newly married and baby came soon after.
Oh boy did I get sick after having the stress of a pregnancy!

- That lyme often profoundly affects the spine, NEVER, ever have any physical treatment that suddenly twists the neck.
If seeking a chiropractor or osteopathic physican (or even a physical therapist or massage therapist) they need to know about lyme.
They would then learn to NEVER TWIST THE NECK. There are certain cranial sacral and body work techniques that are safe, such as UPLEDGER & FELDENKRAIS. More detail in the BODY WORK posts, further down in this set.
Integrative / Holistic M.D., etc. (Be aware that those in this category can have various levels of formal herbal &/or nutritional education, perhaps even just a short course. Do ask first.)

Yes my neck is the worst. When I feel my sickest is when my neck hurts. Can't turn it side to side sometimes.

i'm glad i saw what delljan wrote...i will know to refuse when they suggest it. my back mri and bonescan go on forever...i allowed steroids from PT near knee and totally crashed...i will not do the fusing knowing what happened

For me, neck. And I've had alot of chiropractic for it. I know it doesn't fix the problem, but it alleviates the pain temporarily. I need pain breaks!

Before I knew what was wrong with me an acupuncturist jerked mr neck. You know the fast movement they do with your head that Keebler says is a no no?
Well yes it's a BIG no no! It hurt so bad in my lower back. I almost jumped off the table. I whimpered like a dog.
I also cannot have back massages because my spine is too sore are a good part of the time.

Yes. A full-body spotted rash, with an extremely stiff neck and spine. The stiff neck has plagued me for over 11 years. I do believe in chiropractors for spine health and alignment, but I have spent thousands on chiro and acupuncture for this stiff neck, when all along it has been a lyme infection. Frustrating.
