This is such a great study! It might prove why some people have good success with using silver. I have definitely herxed from silver before. Definitely worth reading.

"Silver, used for centuries to fight infection and other germs, when added to antibiotics in trace amounts makes the drugs as much as 1,000 times more effective in treating mice, researchers find."

I just saw the same article.

The IV nurse at my doctor's office has a number of lyme patients who did her IV silver protocol and now are symptom-free and leading active lives.

It's going to make me seriously consider trying it.

If it can make antibiotics 1000x more effective, could that lead to monster herxes? I would like to hear from anyone using both silver and antibiotics.

I'm very interested in trying silver.

Baileypup...that is so great that some of the patients at your doctors office are now symptom free after doing the IV silver protocol!

Hmm...I think you just have to start out slow with the silver just like with other things. That way you can see how much you can handle without herxing.

I have used silver and antibiotics together myself. I am so sensitive to things that I had to start out with just 1/4 teaspoon per day and even that made me herx a bit.

In fact I took a break from it for a year and just started it back up a couple weeks ago and again I think I am feeling a little bit of a herx from that 1/4 teaspoon. I was/am using the Argentyn 23 silver.

I think a lot of people can usually start out with a much bigger dose than what I am able to do. You just have to go with what you think you can handle and then work your way up from there.

Pam

BTW...I think I previously could have had better results from the silver but I never increased it above that 1/4 teaspoon. I was just taking so many other meds etc that I never got around to increasing the silver. Hopefully this time I will be able to do more with the silver.

The docs I have talked to say that taking it orally will not work -- it will not get absorbed systemically. Must be IV.

I have mixed feeling on how effective it is.

When hubby did this 5 years or more ago the dose was 2 ounces either one or two times daily -- I honestly can't remember. And we either did it daily or 3 times per week -- can't remember that either.

A doc at the Buhner conference says they start with 10 cc I think and then double the dose every day. The goal is to get to 12 ounces daily and continue that for 30 days.

When hubby did this he was not on antibiotics. I think but am not totally sure that he might have been doing the Buhner herbs at the time. Anyway at the lower dose he used he just felt it stirred things up and wasn't killing anything. He continued with it for 3 or 4 months I think.

The brand everyone suggests is the one hubby used -- Argentyn 23.

The brand of silver makes a difference I this . I am using Sovereign and 3/4 tsp knocks me flat !!
Nano particles are most safe and effective. I have been on it for two mos and can still only tolerate 3/4 tsp , sometimes every other day .

If you google : colloidal silver and lyme you will DEFINITELY find people at other boards who have improved greatly with it . Many are making their own with a purchased generator ( I think it is called Bob Beck protocol) like 8man12 here on this board . It gave him back a far better life , though not a cure all.

Recently there were other stories shared here about cures with IV silver - took several rounds in some cases . Dr Willie Burgdorfer ( discovered lyme ) advocated using silver OVER drugs. I can tell you that the herxes with overeign silver are just as rough as ABX!! I am now using silver and pulsing parasite meds ( iver and albenza ) and plan to do this a year. I have some days with tough die off and yet I can often take a 2 mile brisk walk at night . ( The die off is nasty in morning ) .

I do not doubt that this is killing as much or more as 3 years of ABX that only caused problems.
If you search silver and lyme disease you will find encouraging testimonies , like 8man12 has shared here.

If you have any allergies to metal (like nickel, cobalt, etc....) make sure you aren't allergic to silver before taking it. It can make problems a whole lot worse.

Very interesting and makes sense. The smaller the silver particle, I would think the better. So the benefit is from the combination of the silver IV and the abx IV. Is there data or testimony on how long the treatment is?

I would think getting this IV several times a week would be expensive if it went on for several months.

I have been taking Colloidal Silver (CS) for about 6 months along with Dr K cocktail. Cannot say I see a big benefit but since I am off oral ABX I was hoping it would help.

How about a CS patch?

All the Best, MattH

OK, sounds good. What non-IV system/protocol have people used with good success?

I'm also wondering what non-IV silver protocols have worked well. I'm not taking abx now but am considering the silver.

I reviewed the CS maker's website of Argentyn 23 and it says not to consume more that 25 grams. I would think that is a bunch of bottles. Anybody know how to convert that to number of 8 ounce or 16 ounce bottles of this CS?

All the Best, MattH

MattH...I couldn't find what you were referring to on their website but I did see the following on the Argentyn 23 brochure that is on their website.

"Argentyn 23 is formulated to be safe for the whole family. Taken 3 times a day for 70 years, Argentyn 23 still falls below the EPA daily Oral Silver Reference Dose (RfD)."

"According to the EPA (CASRN 7440-22-4) daily Oral Silver Reference Dose (RfD) applied to 23 ppm, one may ingest 76,650 dosages safely over 70 years"

Hopefully this helps you out.

Pam :-)

If you have a PICC, how could you safely get it into your system? Can you mix it with saline or dextrose?
